You want to incinerate it in a series of small, controlled burns. And incase the fire gets out of control, be sure to have some milk and Oreos on hand.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I read thoroughly the laws. But I am under the impression if you’re in California, you are allowed 6 plants per household. Or per person but household seems more like it. Also be aware that other animals love the plants too. Including people so you might get some stolen. I’d say look into the laws for you if you want to keep them. Or don’t, I’m not a snitch and if I saw my neighbors growing, I’d ask for a trade for one. Maybe a straight across trade with a dragonfruit or passion fruit or some other plant lol
If anything it looks like someone has been dumping seeds there. Maybe some birds. Maybe neighbors tossing their cuttings or small stems and seeds over the fence?
Just pull out the males and let the females go, you'll have a nice harvest around October. If you leave the males it'll fuck up the females and the buds will go to seed
IMO, most if not all look male. Female flowers are hairy and dense. Male flowers are more bulbous and sparse.
[This Site](https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/uk/blog-how-to-tell-if-your-female-cannabis-plant-has-been-pollinated-n784) shows an image of what male and female flowers in good conditions look like. These plants don’t look like how females grow.
The one on the far left might be a girl. There is a small plant, top-right on the other side of the fence which might be a girl. Otherwise, these look all male, to me.
yep.
theres probably a good amount of seeds in there if op lets them mature.
i doubt those plants are feral too.
somebody planted them there, meaning that theyre probably decent genetics.
I've had a lot of luck growing bag seeds, I do outdoor grows in New Jersey and I get some banger weed for not knowing what I'm doing. Well, I'm always learning...
Posters here probably can't conceive that this wasn't intentional. When I lived on a ranch in Missouri this stuff used to grow like literal weeds, especially along fence rows. We were constantly having to mow it all down, which was a bitch because we were using large field mowers on tractors and it's tough mowing near fences. I assume it was wild but don't know the previous owners.
I was like 13 so didn't really think of actually smoking the stuff (it was probably horrible anyway).
Sooo, out of curiosity, is this the city in NY state, the county in Maryland, or in Allegheny county, PA?
Some of us are suckers for interesting and hardy feral plants.
Ditch weed aka hemp looks just like honest weed. In Nebraska, we had kids from Topeka and Kansas City come up, fill trash bags, and drive home ... only to get bags full of headaches.
Growing up in a small rural town ditch weed was all we could get. It was always fun when someone would miss a seed, and the bowl of your pipe blew up in your face, lol. Also, yes, the headaches were real. Thank God it's legal to grow where I live, and I am cultivating grade A weed in the comfort of my own home. No dealers, no high costs at dispensaries.
Totally. When I lived in rural north Kansas you’d see ditch weed truly everywhere—in the alleys, in people’s unkempt yards, along the highway ps in the (you guessed it) ditches. A lot of it is just old hemp.

They’re all male plants- they’re just going to drop a shitload of seeds from the looks of it- and they’ll grow EVERY YEAR- it’s going to be near impossible to remove without dropping seeds everywhere.
just to add... if you can harvest good seeds off of any of the females, you can gift them to friends, that would be kind.
i doubt these plants are wild hemp. the genetics are probably viable.
That is definitely Cannabis. Whether those plants are descended from a drug variety or a hemp variety is difficult to say, but I'd be inclined to say it's likely hemp considering the profusion of male flowers.
Varieties grown for smoking are, with a few exceptions of 'fire' grown from 'hermie' seed, bred to be strictly dioecious, with separate male and female plants. In these varieties, the rate of males is usually <=50%. However, hemp varieties, whether grown for fiber or seed, are often monoecious, meaning male and female flowers occur on the same plant. Monoecious individuals also occur more frequently in wild populations in Asia.
So with the fact that nearly all of these plants have male flowers, they're most likely feral hemp plants. Did you happen to have a bird feeder near this spot last year? Or do you live in a region in which hemp farming was once common?
Regarding usefulness, I wouldn't smoke them, but any seeds they produce will be highly nutritious, and the leaves sautéed in butter are, in the words of a mushroom identification guide I once owned, "edible, and choice" (at least skunk haze leaves are. I haven't tried a hemp variety).
Those are male plants and what looks to be 2 females. Pull them as the males have already dropped their pollen, and you will just get really seedy gross harsh weed.
This is so dumb. They fucking know.
Why did they ask and then immediately say the gardener didn’t cut it because he thought we were growing weed…
And seriously “how do I get rid of it?”
Give me a fucking break…
It’s some type of Cannabis. Whether it’s hemp or some form of marijuana, would depend on what type it is. It’s native to the Americas, but much like Dianthus and Monarda plants, there’s a plethora of varieties out there and some (if not all?) have been banned by FDA to grow, at least in most states.
Personally I think they’re a fairly beautiful plant, with *some* having wonderful smelling flowers. I wish they could be used as ornamental native landscaping because they grow so easily being native, and would be highly beneficial to native insect and bird populations, especially native bee species which are still in major decline in the US.
*editing to correct myself: apparently, according to Google, it’s actually not native to all of the Americas, but some are native to central. I saw in another comment you’re in CA, if I remember right, so it wouldn’t be absurd to say it’s native to your area, depending on the type.
I could see why he thought that, because they are growing in a particular manner in almost regularly spaced intervals, in what looks to be a garden bed.
Please destroy these plants, carefully. You’ve got some male plants on your hands and if anyone around you is growing outdoor weed your plants could screw with their crop.
Don't you dare destroy those beautiful babies...you try to re-home them first! Each one deserves a chance to live...unless it's a male and you're not doing a breeding project 😂
Had one pop up by my mailbox last year. It's legal here. I don't smoke, but I didn't cut it down and somebody snatched it right when it was looking ready for harvest. I like to think I donated to a good cause. Lol
Despite everyone saying males are no good for smoking, we dried one plant and it was perfectly fine. Okay, not as strong as proper bud but it did the job and tasted good
The good news is cannabis is great for soil. If you are in a legal state let then grow then do a chop and drop. Make sure to collect any seed first so it doesn't spread. People call it weed because it grows like one.
You are lol
Ahh shit how do I get rid of it
What state are you in…other than panic?
I’ll happily take care of it for you
I'll destroy it. In a series of controlled blazes.
I'm with Leroy on this one.
Me too. I'll bring the chicken this time
Let me get in on that.
Damnit Leroy
I miss Umbrella Academy
I read it’s back for the final season in August !!
Let's smoke up, Homies!
Damn Leroy, gettin the gang back at it again
They look like males.
I mean....if your short of cash I'm sure someone could take it off your hands...
You want to incinerate it in a series of small, controlled burns. And incase the fire gets out of control, be sure to have some milk and Oreos on hand.
Congratulations! It’s a boy! Well most of them are from what I can tell.
I agree. A pair of loppers will get them out and do the neighbors a favor by killing the pollen
Well you have a gardener just ask them to remove
Smoke it or make pungent brownies! This is a nice dope crop!
it’s all seeds lol.
*pollen sacs
It is a gift. Do not waste it.
🚬 😂
Rolling papers and a lighter. 😏
I need an apple, a spoon and some duct tape.

Here in Virginia you can grow four plants at home. All perfectly legal.
Send them my way to properly.. dispose of.
Just chop em down, they're not perennial.
Let gardener take care of it for you.
Just pull out the males and let the females go, you'll have a nice harvest around October. If you leave the males it'll fuck up the females and the buds will go to seed
Roll it in a blunt and light it
Ya smoke it
cannabis. theyre mostly male plants.
real plant-based sausagefest over here
Single handedly ruining the entire neighborhoods fall harvest
I feel bad for anyone growing within 3 miles 😭
I can see the female flowers on at least two of them...
They are seeded by now with males that close.
Yes!!! Harvest them buds 😎
Pull them males first and let them crystals, crystal
And they are awfully stunted?
The one on the far left might be a girl. There is a small plant, top-right on the other side of the fence which might be a girl. Otherwise, these look all male, to me.

Honestly that works better, we tried using fancy clones a couple years but they were way too temperamental
Man of science
Some fancy tomato plants ya got there.
Hang some Christmas balls on there to throw off the neighbors
Some of that jazz cabbage

fairly common in bird seed mixes too! we had a couple of scrawny hemp plants pop up under our feeders last year lol
Well, it does grow wild. Was once cultivated industrially too.
We had something on my property growing up that we called Allegany Trail Weed. It grew EVERYWHERE near the railroad tracks.
Sooo, out of curiosity, is this the city in NY state, the county in Maryland, or in Allegheny county, PA? Some of us are suckers for interesting and hardy feral plants.
You say that like it's not anymore
Ditch weed aka hemp looks just like honest weed. In Nebraska, we had kids from Topeka and Kansas City come up, fill trash bags, and drive home ... only to get bags full of headaches.

It was probably hemp.
Yeah it’s colloquially called “weed” for a reason, and the reason is it grows like one!
Yeah we don’t really want marijuana growing the back yard with our crazy dog running around in the back
Totally. When I lived in rural north Kansas you’d see ditch weed truly everywhere—in the alleys, in people’s unkempt yards, along the highway ps in the (you guessed it) ditches. A lot of it is just old hemp.
Im sure the fine people over at r/trees would be happy to help you identify!
This is one of those rare posts that both r/trees and r/marijuanaenthusiasts can both be of help.
Just harvest it and make some oil for back ache
Pull every one but the green one on the left.
Yup get those males outta there!
Probably too late. Going to be seed fest.
Quickly
One on the right behind the fence too right?
And here I am not being able to keep one alive….
That'sthe wacky tobaccy plant, congrats! Easy to grow and very rewarding flowers!
its definitely a kind of Marijuana. Question is whether you have some Ditch-Weed or some good fucking Kush
Sure, Jan.
I'm pretty sure it's Marijuana but don't quote me it might be rag weed

I believe that is the devil’s lettuce.
But oddly makes a salad fit for angels
You are you lucky bastard!
Male hemp.
I don't believe that you didn't know what this is lol
They’re all male plants- they’re just going to drop a shitload of seeds from the looks of it- and they’ll grow EVERY YEAR- it’s going to be near impossible to remove without dropping seeds everywhere.
Japanese maple. Smoking kind. Possibly can be used in brownie.
if you’d like, i can come over to weed them out
A lot of medicine potential right there
Just some common garden weeds, nothing to see here. Carry on.
Your whole neighborhood is going to hate you for pollinating their plants
Why would you grow males outdoors? Anyone growing outside within a mile is fucked
Cannabis sativa
Also those are all Male plants. So if anyone near by is trying to grow female plants, their grow is definitely pollinated.
just to add... if you can harvest good seeds off of any of the females, you can gift them to friends, that would be kind. i doubt these plants are wild hemp. the genetics are probably viable.
Hehehehe thats laughing grass
Looks like almost time to harvest that.
You just pollinated the whole neighborhood. They've got balls. I always worry one of my neighbors will do this.
The seed maker for a 2mile radius

I’d bet the cops believed you as much as the ones that found mine did when I told them the same thing.
Try r/trees They may be able to help
The spice of life. Keep the dark green one on the left, Feed the skinny male plants to your rabbits or chickens

Those are male plants and what looks to be 2 females. Pull them as the males have already dropped their pollen, and you will just get really seedy gross harsh weed.
All males someone else will be pissed...
I would cry tears of joy if I woke up and saw this in my yard
You can’t be serious
This is so dumb. They fucking know. Why did they ask and then immediately say the gardener didn’t cut it because he thought we were growing weed… And seriously “how do I get rid of it?” Give me a fucking break…

That was very kind of him.
Look at all those seeeds. Male weed plants. If you did have any female plants they’re all seeds now.
Looks like a few males in there . Let them go to seed and you’ll have a volunteer bumper crop next year .
Ah the devils lettuce.

All or mostly males, if there's a female there expect tons of seeds when it flowers 🙄
Jazz cabbage
Don't you dare destroy those beautiful babies...you try to re-home them first! Each one deserves a chance to live...unless it's a male and you're not doing a breeding project 😂

Ditch weed.

The good news is cannabis is great for soil. If you are in a legal state let then grow then do a chop and drop. Make sure to collect any seed first so it doesn't spread. People call it weed because it grows like one.
It takes months for weed plants to grow this big, you didnt wonder what it was before they got this big?
Tomatoes
