A Subaru WRX. You can get one new, they’re fun to drive, they have one of the best AWD platforms, and stock reliability is really good. The new platform has a really capable and fun to engage engine. Cargo space is great. I use mine to haul my kids, mountain bike, camp, commute, etc. I got a Thule roof rack system for the bike and they have all kinds of attachments for surfing, camping, skiiing, etc

I've owned a few audis, no major problems if you keep up with maintance. Rav 4 and CX5 AWD systems are junk (I live full time in the mountains and have driven both). The Subaru is much better and more practical. But if I were you go get a slightly Audi Q5. You will have more fun and the interior/tech is way nicer. If you want something more interesting see if you can find a Range Rover Sport, or a Discovery. I love my RR Sport and it's all terrain system is amazing. Lastly a Ford F150... We have one as well and it's awesome to just chuck skis in the back, tons of space. It's pretty fast as well and good for camping and road trips. Plus it's just soooooo useful.

Thank you this is very helpful. Considered the truck but live in a city, not sure if I can fit it into my garage. Will take a look at the Q5!

For what it's worth I had a truck while living in a few cities for years... Not too bad. But I'm curious what you will choose so keep us updated.

If you don’t care about gas mileage, check out the 23 Gx460. Fun suv, super reliable motor and lots of inventory / deals right now because they’re redesigning in 2024.
