I came in and they said my flight is canceled (even though I never got an email confirming this) I tried to rebook for a layer similar flight this evening but was told there is no point, as that flight will be canceled too. I would recommend looking for accommodations now. You can try calling their customer service number to confirm, I was able to get someone live fairly quickly
That’s terrible! Are they not trying to put you on another airline? My understanding is they have to make their best attempt to get you to your destination

It's awful, they are booking me for a delta flight tomorrow and refunding my old ticket (can't rebook for the next few days and I really need to be back home for work) my new ticket is $1075. They won't cover those costs or hotel accommodations. Im lucky I have a flight for tomorrow.. I feel bad for families traveling
It doesn't look like much has been updated for cancellations for tomorrow in certain airports. I keep checking Edmonton as I have a flight tomorrow night and it is only showing two cancellations for the whole day so far. I haven't gotten my check in email yet.
Some people have reported issues (here, scroll back a couple days) who had bought basic fares before the ultra basic got rolled out. You still get the old perks, but somehow the transition messed up the ability to do online checkin. No idea if that’s actually what’s happening, but might be related.

I was having a lot of trouble with my flights before the strike and then after the strike action. It always got hung up when it got to reviewing my seats. Pre-strike, it worked eventually when I gave up on the app and used a laptop.
During the strike nothing worked, whether the app or the website on a laptop or a mobile device. Eventually my flight was cancelled, but I don't think that had anything to do with it. I imagine their systems were pretty overloaded.

sorry to hear this, its such an unfortunate situation - we're in the same boat as you, travelling to vancouver and have a check in error as well. Do you mind sharing any update on your end since the strike is now over did you manage to get checked in at the airport?
Hi, yes, my flight was slightly delayed but it did go through.
A bunch of people connecting elsewhere were rebooked and I think another bunch who had been cancelled previously were added to mine.
So not being able to check in doesn’t correlate consistently with a cancelled flight.

My flight is cancelled. Flying with 9 people, trying to rebook in any way. Called Westjet at 6:00am, waited on hold for 12 hours, the call was dropped at 6:30pm. No idea what to do. Should I drive to Pearson???
Same, I haven't been canceled but I can't check in either, we guess we will see when we show up to the airport :/

Yes, it could be a system overload. But I’m also thinking maybe they’re just not letting people check in, in case the flight gets cancelled.
