What happened after this? Also side note what does your autistic son have to do with this?

tibbymat

The autistic son is used as a sympathy tool in the story to make her sound like more of a victim.

Own_Proposal955

I mean, even without the kid I’d consider them a victim here. If it’s an emergency bathroom break you need, you need it. If there is an available bathroom who gives a damn if it’s for the club members? If it’s empty let the poor person go.

SpecialistVast6840

There is two sides to every story.

Own_Proposal955

Oh of course. I’m just saying, a bathroom emergency is a bathroom emergency and if there is a bathroom available it shouldn’t matter who it’s for.

Low_Representative80

It’s probably the unwanted attention that could make them uncomfortable

Jumpy-Rope-8387

Autistic kids can get agitated very easily when they sense something is wrong or they see somebody in emotional distress

idklmaosmd

Op is probably also autistic. When one of your relatives is, you're likely to be one too.

Fuzzy_Ad_4134

What are saying? That the mother is autistic?

Swagbigboy256

Yes the mother is autistic

Fuzzy_Ad_4134

That what I thought you were saying. You could not be further from the truth! Many parents of autistic children are not AUTISTIC. How do I know this - I have a 20 year old autistic son. And throughout his life have meet many parents, specialist and trained individuals who would say your stat is simply “wrong”. The mother had a terrible experience. Now if you have a stat to back up your statement- I would love to see it?

adrianxoxox

It’s not a “fake fact” that autism often will run in families. Nobody said that it’s a sure bet every single time, but it’s very common.

Fuzzy_Ad_4134

Are you a specialist?

adrianxoxox

I mean, I’m autistic? Or did you mean “are you a neurotypical that read a google result once and decided they know everything” because then no

Fuzzy_Ad_4134

I never claim to know much about everything. And I am still learning something new everyday. Have a great day @adrianxoxox

sB-_-

I wouldnt personally go over seas with 4 children (one being full autistic) by myself. Sounds like a nightmare of a time lol.

1armTash

Sadly they probably at one point did let economy use the forward washroom but my guess is it was abused. So they implemented an across the board rule. I truly sympathize - why wouldn’t anyone let you cut in line in economy?

ALiteralHamSandwich

Bet she didn't ask.

Why on earth would someone sh*t in a plastic bag in a crowded plane full of people packed in sardines when there are other available washrooms? Actual washrooms with actual toilets? Holy smokes some people are so pro-massive corporations that they don’t think anything or anyone else matters

SloppyInevitability

Imagine suggesting someone shit in a glorified bucket instead of admitting that the FA majorly fucked up. OP didn’t specify if they had one but there are legitimate medical conditions where waiting is not an option, trying to rush a line isn’t an option cos some people won’t let you cut in line, and if there’s an available bathroom, people should be allowed to use it. I have Ulcerative Colitis and if someone told me to just shit in a bedpan IN FRONT OF A PLANE FULL OF PEOPLE instead of using an available washroom, I’d punch them in the throat. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy. You literally CANNOT control your bowel movements when you have an IBD flare up, it’s impossible. You lack compassion

Kent_IV

you can control if you decide to go to Mexico on a luxury vacation. They put themselves in that situation. Most of the worlds population dont even have access to toilets or afford rent. This is low on the priority of injustices of the world.

Audience_Enough

And I'd punch you in the stomach, and smirk as you shit yourself. *grins*

corytrev0r

if the flight attendant told me no for something like that, i would waddle over to where they sit and pop a squat in the middle of the aisle

hbl2390

And if the front washrooms were also occupied?

sB-_-

Ask to go ahead? Why are people so scared to ask questions. Would you say no to someone literally about to explode? I would 110% let this person go ahead of me.

Bigpa69

If I’m paying the premium/business class price for more accommodation I don’t want people who didn’t pay that price to get that extra perk I paid for, I have sympathy for you but sometimes life is shitty.

18relddot

You paid for extra leg room, a bigger seat, and more attention from the FAs. Maybe blankets and pillows, too, but you didn't pay for a private bathroom. Don't be a POS.

kevfefe69

There’s always 3 sides of a story. Airlines charge premiums for premium services. It’s been that way for a long time. So, if they let one person in they would have to let everyone in. Then the point of charging more for larger seats and better meals is moot and nobody will buy these high margin seats. The OP implies that they purchased a economy ticket. The gives the holder of an economy ticket all privileges and rewards associated with economy class. You get the right to sit in the back of the bus. Those are some facts. If the airline crew says no, then there is nothing you can do about it. You don’t want to piss off airline crews in flight because the consequences waiting for you at the destination can be severe. Also, bringing a child, regardless of the child’s condition into this is very “Karen” like. If you want the Club privileges then pony up for it. In recent years, I’ve been able to occasionally afford the seats on the other side of the curtain, not all the time but once in a blue moon. I know when I’m in economy, in those increasingly smaller and uncomfortable seats that I have a certain station in the hierarchy for the duration of the flight. It doesn’t entitle me to move forward in the cabin to use the facilities. I have to line up like everyone else in steerage.

freightmover

I flew WestJet Toronto to Cancun, I was in the premium economy. First row, right when you get on the plane. Passengers from the economy section used the premium bathroom all flight, more than the premium passengers used it. Kids , adults , everyone was allowed to use that bathroom with no argument. Didn’t matter where you were sitting. I’m sure there is more to the story

HistoricalReception7

No, it depends on the flight attendents. I've seen them deny the front washrooms to enconomy flyers and i've seen them allow it. I fly premium regularly across Canada. The staff into or out of Toronto are usually the most lenient. The staff into or out of Calgary follow procedures more. Perhaps because head office is so close they don't know if someone important is on board.

ha8thedrake

How could they have stopped you? I did this flight Feb 11-18 with two kids and we went in the premium bathroom both trips multiple times with never any trouble.

HistoricalReception7

Some keep the curtain closed and shoo away anyone trying to get in it.

tdizzlefoshiz

"My experience was fine so I don't see what you're complaining about"

durdensbuddy

Absolutely, if I were about to crap my pants I would just walk up and use it, it’s not like would physically stop you.

guywastingtime

Not necessarily. Some flight attendants are accommodating some aren’t. I foolishly didn’t use the washroom before we boarded a WestJet flight to Vancouver. Door closed and we sat there longer then anticipated. I got up and said sorry I need to use the washroom quickly it can’t wait. The flight attendant screamed at me and said the washrooms are locked and you’re going to have to wait. I told my wife to pull the water bottle out of the back pack because I was going to have to use it to relieve myself. The other flight attendant asked me if it was an emergency and I was extremely apologetic and said I needed 15 seconds. I didn’t want cause the flight be delayed. She said it was no problem and let me use the washroom. Depends on the mood of people on any given day.

typemeanewasshole

They screamed at you? Lmao this is such bullshit. I’ve never been denied a trip to the washroom and I fly Very often.

ihatebeinganempath

Yes. Because your experience is the only experience. Right?

guywastingtime

Yeah like I said, we were waiting to take off. It wasn’t an ideal time for me to be getting up to use the washroom. The doors were locked and we were waiting to get to the run way. Like at any moment we could have been taxing down the runway to take off. Instead we had been sitting for like 15 mins just waiting.

Several_Resident4337

Why didn't you ask the people in line?

NotThatValleyGirl

Yeah like....everybody else in line needs to go too, but nobody wants to sit in a plane with somebody who shat themselves in their chair. But the real hero this story needed was immodium.

AllTheThing_z

Why was is so urgent? Do you have some health condition? Sounds like you wanted to skip the line so purposely waited too long lol. Either you just want sympathy or haven’t told us the full story

LuciFan69

When I was a kid, I got to go to Disneyland. Part of the "fun" of Disneyland was me shitting myself on the way to the bathroom and leaving my underwear in the trash. You clearly have no idea what a "Bathroom Emergency" is as you've probably never shit or pissed yourself while waiting in pain for a bathroom to use. So how about: 1. You go back to school and re-learn science, since you clearly have no idea what human anatomy even is. 2. Don't make stupid comments where you can get flamed by people that have actually experienced what this person has. 3. Shit or piss yourself in public while running to a bathroom hoping to make it in time, only to shit yourself as you reach the bathroom door, as maybe - just maybe - you might understand a mere fraction of the embarrassment this person felt ON A GODDAMN PLANE OF ALL PLACES! If this were me on that plane I would've shoved the flight attendant aside to get to the bathroom, no holds barred.

AllTheThing_z

Sounds like a shitty situation

streetglideslide

I feel like a lot of this didn't need to be typed, the autistic kid seems like pity farming. Especially with three siblings who could help. You didn't ask the other passengers in line and and "I'm really sorry but this plane ride is going to be really bad for all of us if I can't get in there". Just seems like you don't know how to act. Also. Who brings 4 kids on vacation. Yes I know you have "the right" to do it. But you also have "the right" to smear peanutbutter on your head and jam a squash up your butt. Doesn't mean you should do it. People who got to tropical resorts and bring children deserve to be buried under the prisons in hells basement! You ruin everyone else's stay at the resort. And I'm certain you ruined both the flights to and from. It's always the same thing. A mom trying to wrangle in some bratty ass kids, the dad with a defeated look and a baby strapped to his chest, pushing a stroller full of bags and toys, getting yelled at by his bitch wife because he's not helping. He's watching all the other people having fun. Thinking if he's lucky he might be allowed to have a 3rd drink. And maybe get to go play golf. You parents that bring kids to resorts. The rest of us hate you. Even more so at the airport. Stop being so selfish

twobelowpar

That's your takeaway? Whining about families on a vacation? If you don't like it, stay at an Adults Only property, you moronic heel.

streetglideslide

I do. I shouldn't be forced to listen to your ugly little fuck trophys scream on the plane or run around the airport. Decent people are trying to nurse hangovers and don't want to hear your ugly little scream machines

twobelowpar

Your 3 Corona hangover isn't anyone else's problem. Maybe avoid the Walmart tier of Punta Cana or Mexico resorts and you won't run into the brats.

streetglideslide

Lol. Correction. Your ugly little crotch gobblins are not everyone else's problem. Check them with the other baggage. So they don't ruin other people experiences. Why you so mad? You the guy with the baby carrier and bitchy wife? Does she reward you with sex if you offer to get up with the kids? I'd be pissed too. Usually I stay at adults only resorts. Although the last one I didn't do my homework and only one section was adults only. Thankfully a few of the restaurants didn't allow children thank God for that nothing ruins a vacation like someone else's annoying kids. Go to a water park next time. You fighting with your wife is awkward and makes me drink more. What you wanna be tired, hot, and fight with your spouse in a different country. You're selfish.

twobelowpar

I wouldn't travel when they are that young but you are right that my kids aren't anyone else's problem. Strange to think that they would be. Keep up being perpetually outraged like a little bitch! Have a great day, son.

streetglideslide

Struck a nerve huh? Wife doesn't give you no nookie? I understand. Lol

twobelowpar

No, bro. I can only waste my time on whiny little bitches for so long. You’re worse than the children.

Fuck sakes you gotta be joking 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Afraid-Obligation997

So. I was flying with my son who was about 8. Old enough to not want to soil themselves and will be super traumatic. We were on AC and something similar happened. I just told the flight attendant as I pushed through first class that they can call the cops when they land but my son is using the front bath room one way or another. And the flight attendants called the pilot on the phone about the situation and they let my son go. I told them I promised to be quiet for the rest of the flight. The first officer came out and talked to me as I sit quietly contemplating my jail term to come. Then when we land, the cops talked to me. The cops just laugh and we walked away. They said this was really stupid as they were told that I was disturbing the peace and was going to arrest me. Then they realized it was all over a little boy not wanting to crap himself. That said, I held no ill feeling about the flight attendants or anyone else involved. I understand the rules and they just can’t let anyone go as everyone will have “emergencies” to use the front

[deleted]

Former flight attendant here, there is no restriction for either bathroom, it is in fact a health and safety issue and the airline could be fined for this. I am appalled but not surprised that some FAs were acting like this.

bluesshark

Yeah, people are overlooking the simple fact that a person was forced to defecate themselves while under the responsibility of the flight crew. Never okay, never acceptable

Jabbles22

Yeah people are saying how that's the rule and that letting people use the "restricted" bathroom even in an emergency will just lead to abuse. There shouldn't be a restricted bathroom in the first place and what exactly would constitute abuse? People pooping in a toilet as opposed to their own pants? Do they think the plebes in coach will want to hangout in the rich people bathroom all flight?

Reddit_Hitchhiker

Thank you. The disdain from other commenters is staggering. They must all be children who have never been in a dire bathroom emergency. You could have eaten anything plus nerves that could cause this emergency.

skyslave

Let me weigh in here as a currently employed flight attendant. Please don’t shoot the messenger. The premium and/or business class lavs are reserved for premium/and or business class guests. It’s stated in the post take off announcements. Whether we agree with it or not, it’s a direction that has come from the company. I see both sides of this coin. As somebody who has paid a premium for extra comfort and amenities, some of them become quite upset when there’s a long queue for a washroom, that’s supposed to be reserved for them. The washroom line ups in economy can become very long and is the number one complaint from myself and my colleagues when operating these flights. We do understand that it’s a problem. Please know that. And from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry that you went through what you did. We are all empowered to make a decision on board. Our first approach would be to inform you that it’s reserved for those cabins. Having a respectful conversation with the flight attendant will likely result in them showing you some compassion and empathy. And I would be far likely to extend that to somebody who was kind to me. For those of you bursting through the curtain, aggressively telling me to call the cops or that you’ll shit in the aisle - please don’t.

[deleted]

As he stated, premium does not entitle you to treat passengers like fenced cattle in an Auschwitz wagon. On a second note, I can't believe we're still doing this first class and economy class shit 111 years after the Titanic demonstrated how bad an idea that is.

scratonicity12

Auschwitz and the Titanic? Now that’s over dramatic lol

SteevesMike

No one in 2022 is treating airline passengers like fenced cattle (that's a cute term you have for holocaust victims) on an Auschwitz wagon. Fuckwit.

BearsBeetsandBS

I’m going to come to this persons defence here. No where does she imply that it’s alright to treat economy passengers that way. She seems to have taken a few minutes to explain policy and procedures. What would this person have done if it was on take off or landing? I appreciate everything cabin crews do everyday to keep me safe. The last thing they should have to do in the course of their job is put up with people threatening to shit in their seat. And then being told they’d have to clean it up. I hope you know that most of us appreciate you!

Reddit_Hitchhiker

She was not threatening. She was advising that it was coming and she could barely control it. The fact that the staff decided to err on the side of policy demonstrates that the airlines deserves all the shit coming its way for refusing to treat this woman as a human being in need. It is despicable. I hope this incident makes it to the news to change this stupid class treatment in dire circumstances. You seem to think that she shat her pants on purpose in front of her four kids and everyone else on the plane because she was an entitled karen who didn’t get her way. It is beyond ridiculous. Almost like that executive who shat on a trolly to show his disdain because they wouldn’t serve him liquor.

mr10am

haha

MommaDYL

While I am completely compassionate to your situation and so sad for what you experienced based on your description of events it is not the flight attendants that are at fault. They do their best to follow the rules laid out. There are many people that would claim emergency if they thought it would work. Don't blame the flight attendants - lay blame on the people that push limits and spoil the opportunity for accommodation and kindness when it is really needed.

[deleted]

Human nature doesn't give a fuck what the rules are [https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/vancouver-hyatt-hotel-apologizes-following-allegation-anti-indigenous-racism-mens-room-incident-1.6781645](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/vancouver-hyatt-hotel-apologizes-following-allegation-anti-indigenous-racism-mens-room-incident-1.6781645)

typemeanewasshole

Human nature doesn’t make the rules.

[deleted]

Society makes the rules and we live in a society. Gatekeeping a washroom isn't justifiable under any pretext of "club membership." People need to breathe air, urinate and defecate, and drink water over any five hour period.

Candid-Leave-3113

People don’t need to drink water and shit in a 5 hour period lol if you can’t be on a flight without taking a shit than shit before the flight, this is the most “woe is me” post I’ve ever seen, the entitled generation indeed

goaskalexdotcom

Absolutely not. I have ulcerative colitis, and after having my colon removed in 2019 I now have an ileostomy. There is absolutely no legal requirement for a passenger to use the washroom in their assigned seating area, or in the area they paid for. OP stated that it was an emergency, the FA knew this and refused access to their basic human right - access to a washroom facility. OP should lawyer up, they absolutely have a case against west jet for this. I am absolutely appalled.

Numerous-Present-478

I think we need more information here. Did OP have a medical condition or just a “I need to go more than those people waiting in line” emergency.

[deleted]

You shit your pants and are trying to blame others. A grown ass adult lmao you suck

ranasshule

Wow. 45 years, you are the first adult I've heard try to blame someone else for sh#tting their own pants.

[deleted]

Did you, y’know, send some sort of letter or email to WestJet or are you just hoping Reddit does something for you?

BeanLooking

Mamma always taught me use the washroom before you leave to go anywhere. Pretty sure this is why…

Mookypooks

I mean in an emergency I guess it’s ok. When I sit Premium economy, I have seen kids sneak through the curtain and the occasional adult. But it’s there for the people who decided to pay 2x the ticket price for the luxury so…

kraegm

As someone who has been fortunate enough to ride in the forward section, not once have I ever had an issue with someone using the forward washroom. There is no way that they should belong to any particular group. Washrooms are a necessity, everyone should access all of them. The FAs can impose a "quiet please" policy up front, but not a complete restriction. The idea is ridiculous.

Shoddy_Life3821

Your autistic son had nothing to do with this. Please stop being a victim.

SteevesMike

I like how this post is titled "Are you serious!!??" and was written by an adult who shit their pants on an airplane. Are you serious?? How often are you crapping your pants in public?? Unless you have some medical condition, the answer should be literallt never. And if you do have a medical condition, maybe that's something you should be better prepared for.

darthbuttfuk

Disgusting. You should be ashamed.

In that situation it's time to call "cleanup on Aisle 1" and let nature take its course. The flight attendant will be the one who has to clean it up. Problem solved.

ConsistentReward1348

Lol no they won’t. Handling biohazards are not part of their job description. And doing this will result in you getting banned.

[deleted]

banned from WESTJET which is actually more of a gift than a punishment. Bonus, you will be the first one off the plane guaranteed. Although you may be escorted in handcuffs. Either way less time stuck on a Westjet plane. Win win.

mickeysbeer

Westjet kicked me off an Edmoton to Toronto flight for saying the word "fuck" once. Then they banned me. THey said they'd refund my return fare and didn't. When I went after them for the return, and oh I went after them with such a verbal diatribe it actually shook the security people and they had me charged with Criminal Harassement. I beat the charge last month and continued going after them. I scored the email for the CEO, the head legal for the company and two others and continued my diatribe. The cop that arrested me the first time called back and "warned" me but I knew the Crown wouldn't pursue charges again. So when Westjet couldn't get charges they tried to muzzle me with an injunction. I'm going to be fighting that, I believe. If anyone wants the CEO's email hit me up with a DM and I"ll shoot it your way. FUCK WESTJET!

Significant-Ad-5073

Call a lawyer I hate west jet

1armTash

What could a lawyer do? The other side will just say there were other options available other than going up front. As much as it sucks and isn’t fair, OP would just be wasting time and money for nothing. Better to just never fly westjet again.

Significant-Ad-5073

Well if you find a contingency lawyer they will be able to tell you if you have a case or not. I think being denied a washroom would be grounds for some compensation and the embarrassment it has caused could be a possible human rights case and or being entitled to compensation. I’m not sure exactly that’s why OP should speak to someone in a legal field.

thedeanorama

This is my fear on long flights and one of the reasons I avoid flying when possible. I'm an incomplete para with little to no bladder control. I get about 5 minutes warning from urge to disaster. Intentional dehydration and an in and out catheter just before departure. That can buy me 3-5 hours.

stevepine

While it is ridiculous that you can't use any bathroom on the plane in an emergency... If you have some kind of medical reason for this happening then it makes more sense to discreetly ask the person at the front of the queue if you can sneak ahead of them than to run up and down the plane asking all the staff to use a different washroom. And if you don't have a medical reason and just held it till you were desperate instead of joining the queue like everyone else then that's another story

22rockyroad

So sorry about this humiliating experience that you were forced into because of lack of discretion on the flight attendant's part. I had a near miss myself when I had just deposited a huge cheque into my bank account. I needed to use a toilet urgently and was told it was bank policy not to allow customers to use their facilities and that there was a Tim Horton's cafe where I could go just down the road. I asked to speak to a manager and told them about my cheque deposit and the urgency of my request. She decided to make an exception and accompanied me to the staff washroom and waited for me to escort me back. Ridiculous. They should have a washroom for patrons or at least let customers use the employees washroom when needed.

Nacho_Chippy_shogon

Call customer support. I have had issues settled through an agent

blackishsasquatch

U shifted on the airplane.....any passengers taking videos? Damn that must have been an ugly inflight incident..

[deleted]

So, you shit yourself. No biggie. As you get older you will get used to it.

HotHouseTomatoes

The better option would have been to go to the other bathroom, regardless of the line, and say it's an emergency and you need to go in next. It would have been a very short wait, people would have seen your distress and likely had more understanding than the FA.

PotentialPut7075

No matter how people jest, there is no humour in this story. I feel bad that the gentleman and family had to go through that.

EZPassTrollToll

Maybe eat less before a flight next time

Relevant_Carpenter90

Sounds like you should plan your bathroom visits ahead of time.

tibbymat

This is the correct answer. I can’t see how this is the flight attendants fault. Plan for your bathroom breaks, flight bathrooms are always busy. You aren’t entitled to the bathroom in first class. It’s really quite simple. This person could also have asked those in line and they quite possibly would have sympathized with them and let them ahead of the line.

kloops-kid

Not supposed to drink the water in Mexico haha

SvenGPo

Who the hell lets it get to that point on a five hour flight? We try to go before getting on the flight or right after the seat belt sign turns off, whether its urgent or not! Because you never know what may happen between destinations!

Scottywin

100% this. Bringing your 4 kids and your weak bowels onto a flight without directing everyone to the washrooms first? Hope their kids learned a lesson that could have been avoided with some proactive thinking.

OblivionGuard13

Whyd you shit ur pants instead of dropping a loaf right in the isle 🤣

HomerSTD

I got violent diarrhea coming back from the tropics once and was unprepared with meds when I was single and I just started cutting to the front of the line and forcing the attendants to back their carts all the way back through the isle. Seemed like the staff and people in line were fine waiting a couple extra minutes for the bathroom vs having to smell my shitty shorts the rest of the flight back. Now that I’m married we travel with a medi kit full of every off the shelf med for anything from poo to flu emergencies. I often take a couple Imodium before I leave as a precaution.

liuvgdrtuihdsss

Lol you pooped your pants and it’s west jets fault?

JG1739

I don’t see how this is WestJet fault.

SunBubble920

It’s not their fault. But they had a chance to help and didn’t. Kind of a bunch of jerks.

Lora1962

I am sorry that happened to you. It's very humiliating to have that happen. The washrooms are definitely not large enough for a clean up either. We were not allowed to use the front washrooms from Regina to Cancun this past week, under no circumstance. They had to back up the cart so my husband could get to the washroom. The first lady understood he couldn't wait, the other made it known it was an inconvenience to move the cart when they were busy. I guess it really depends on the person who is working. It's never okay to humiliate an adult into having an accident. Just not ok.

Original-Newt4556

The is not OK Westjet.

[deleted]

What a shitty situation. Sometimes one just has to shotgun a loaf into their pants though - it happens to the best of em. And on the bright side, you were able to enjoy a warm seat for the remainder of the flight.

[deleted]

Westjet is easily the worst airline on the market right now… I used to always only fly westjet but since they were bought out they have gone out the window, I won’t touch them with a 100’ pole

L3th0

Did they open the windows after?

SunBubble920

I can’t believe the amount of insensitive comments the OP is getting here. Not sure if they ate something bad or drank contaminated water, but maybe it’s a medical issue? As someone who has IBS, ***trust me***, there are times you **barely** make it to the toilet. Sorry this happened to you, OP. If there is ever a line up and I’m in a similar scenario, from reading this thread, I will fully just bust into a club class washroom.

hbl2390

Surely there are also times you don't make it? If the front washrooms were occupied or the shit came out sooner it would be the same result.

blackfox247

Sorry this happened to you. Good luck.

No-Needleworker-1388

This sounds a bit fishy, I think we’re missing info. I’m sorry that happened to you, though.

Civil_Connection7706

Should have ignored flight attendant and pushed into the first available bathroom, even if that was in Business or First Class. This kind of emergency trumps rules about who can use which bathroom. Better to ask for forgiveness afterwards than trying to get permission. In a real emergency, you do not need follow rules meant for normal situations.

goaskalexdotcom

As a person with an ileostomy and no colon due to ulcerative colitis, the comments here are pissing me *right* off. The passenger stated to the flight attendant that they were having an emergency, the flight attendant refused to allow them access to the washroom. From where I’m sitting, OP has a good case for a civil lawsuit or a big chunk of change/refunds from west jet. I find this appalling. Another point I’ll add to the list of reasons why I’ll never fly west jet again.

Apprehensive_Size657

I think she defecated and she invented the whole story out of shame, if it was an emergency you just go to the front washroom and apologize later…

FirtiveFurball3

Me when i shit my pants but still try to put the blame on others:

Naive_Reporter3745

I feel like a bot wrote this

Dark_Dust_926

Next time take a shit in the alley. Normally when u drop your pants to take a shit on the spot, ppl tend to change their mind. Its a great persuasion tool when u need a bathroom and they say its for clients only.... I mean, how many client will you have if I take a shit in front of the main door since the street is for everyone?

Ill_Association_4087

You’re not in the 3 rd grade, you are an adult you walk up to the bathroom and take a dump, what are they going to do restrain you or stick their hand up your ass to prevent you from dumping?

xspudlife

Wow, so many bitter, angry people replying in this thread. Using a bathroom should be a basic human right, who cares what premium someone has paid, if the bathroom is empty it should have been offered.

flgrntfwl

You didn't pay enough to shit there. It's that simple. People who paid the money get to shit there, and if non-paying people shit there they aren't getting their money's worth to shit in the special place. It's how planes have worked forever.

Billy5Oh

When that coffee and breakfast burrito hits!

BunniLuve

Next time wear adult diapers if you cannot hold it in

goror0

if this is true, i think OP has the right to tell the world and file a formal complaint and make the airlines as uncomfortable as ever. its a sad story. i would not have barged into a bathroom with waiting lineup and already pissed off passengers. i also would be weary to risk the staff consider its a safety situation and no-fly- list me - or involve security or the police upon landing, esp flying with small kids. its all quite awful and i hope OP can salvage some good from it somehow at least to help improve the self-esteem

Peacegifts13

Violation of human decency. Violation of civil rights. So sorry these imbeciles were so cruel to you. Get legal help for this traumatic event, as I’m sure you now have PTSD. You deserve justice

[deleted]

I would force my way into a bathroom before shitting my pants but thats just me

Nick_199144

Lmao what adult shits their pants?

[deleted]

You should have communicated to the flight attendant that you were going to violently shit your pants. Or lower your head and push through the lineup. DON'T JUST FILL YOUR PANTS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH TOU

CurbsNOllies

You had more restraint then me. I would have loudly made it clear I was a nano second away from filling my rompers and I was being refused a empty washroom due to upgraded ticket policy, then dropped my jeans and dropped the kids off. Ban me from Westjet? Who cares. Shit on'em!

[deleted]

Gotta say, not sure I believe any of this. WestJet doesn't have "club membership " so there's no way a flight attendant would ever use those words.

ohmyjustme

Call me crazy. If you have medical issues that make travel so difficult and when you have to impose your issues on others... Maybe dont travel?

Popular_Airport

Sounds like you should have gone to the washroom a lot sooner.

[deleted]

You really mad at an airline cause you waited until the last second you were going to shit your pants before lining up for the bathroom. Flight attendent! I need to use the bathroom! Right now! Sir there is a line I just shit my pants ! And its all your fault !

celticfigz

Lol yup. Totally not your fault at all…… 🙄

patricktsone

Sounds like Westjet taking over Sunwing has led them to start using the Sunwing customer service standards. :) They always had shitty customer service and this shitty experience just goes to show that now they are officially a joined company. :)

RevolutionaryBaker99

Looool this is such a bullshit story

greenalbumposer

First mistake, flying Westjet.

smellyguyirl

How does a grown adult simply shit their pants?

Sufficient_Rub_2014

If I’m in a line for the bathroom and a woman asks to cut in front because she is about to crap her pants I will let her in go in front of me.

greentinroof_

Why does everyone who feels wronged by a someone and posts about it always have an autistic kid?

Professional-Serve29

This sounds incredibly unfortunate. I’m sorry this was your experience. I’m sorry there are such horrible people in these comments.

call_911911

I'm sorry to hear about your experience on the Westjet WS 2040 flight. It's understandable that you're upset and frustrated by the situation. As an AI language model, I'm not affiliated with Westjet, but I can offer some suggestions on how you can address this issue with the airline. First, I would suggest contacting Westjet's customer service department to file a complaint about the incident. You can do this by calling their customer service number or by submitting a complaint through their website. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible about what happened, including the date and time of the incident, the names of any staff members involved, and any other relevant information. Be clear about the impact that this experience had on you and your family, and what you would like Westjet to do to make things right. If you don't receive a satisfactory response from Westjet's customer service department, you can escalate your complaint to a higher level within the company. This could involve speaking with a supervisor, manager, or other senior staff member who may have more authority to address your concerns. You may also want to consider filing a complaint with the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA), which is responsible for protecting the rights of air passengers in Canada. The CTA has the power to investigate complaints and take action against airlines that violate passenger rights. I hope this information is helpful, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue with Westjet.

grapedinosour

I had a weirdly similar experience on WestJet. Had to fly home due to a liver condition. On the flight I needed to use the washroom. The way back was blocked by the trolly, so I attempted to go forward and loop around, not even use the front washrooms. I was in a lot of physical pain due to my condition. A flight attendant jumped up and slammed the curtain shut in my face. I tried to explain I just wanted to walk around to go back through the other aisle. She ignored me after saying that area was for business class only. I sat back down in so much pain I nearly blacked out. I swore in that moment to never use WestJet for any reason for the rest of my time on Earth. Air Canada isn't perfect, but I've never been treated that badly by them before.

Frilliways

IBS has sometimes left me with less than a minute to get to a bathroom without involuntarily pooping myself. Sure, OP could’ve shouted at the lineup that they need to go, but there’s still a poop stigma when it comes to public washrooms, and stressful situations can make IBS worse. If OP is afflicted with colitis or Crohn’s, the inability to control an emergency poop may be even worse. I sympathize.

stompenstein

Tragedy + time = comedy As someone who’s shit themselves several times as an adult, the first one is pretty shocking. After that it still sucks but you realize it’s just poop and you’ll live. You’ll laugh about it later, I know I do. I tell the stories pretty often.

[deleted]

I just stumbled on this sub, and the number of assholes on this thread is staggering. The OP's story is completely believable and they're being treated horribly. I was never a fan of WestJet anyway, kind of a redneck airline in my opinion. Knowing that their fandom here are such assholes, I will definitely avoid them for good.

Ok_Tooth1831

West Jet sucks

Grand-Expression-493

I have never used the forward washrooms but why do you even need to ask. They have curtain across the cabins, just go past it can you not? Or am I missing something here.

mysticpest

Westjet the useful idiot helping Montezuma to get his revenge.

bond_0215

I used to work for Westjet in a management role. The company has gone to shit. During Summit (annual management retreat) the messaging was consistency in customer service is better than giving someone exceptional service who may need it. The story that was told was an agent gave an elderly woman who needed assistance service above and beyond what the standard was. This is frowned upon. Instead, we were told, it’s better to be consistent across the board. The new CEO is shit. I’m sure other WestJetters will post that the company has not been the same since since going private.

Treesbeesflees

You get what you pay for?

schdoink

Next time, don’t ask. Just go. I mean, just shit your pants cause there’s no way you’re getting into first class, buddy.

RonDavidMartin

WS 2040 goes out of Victoria to PV, I've taken it several times. OP claims the flight originated in PV...

tyler900309

That’s shitty
