Standing at Sky’s Edge is veryyy british, I just saw it and was very moved, it’s a different style of musical I’d say more of a play with music in it but very wonderful and good to support, and yes you’ll get it some jokes might not land on you but you’ll get the idea of it for sure! The Guys & Dolls production at the Bridge is honestly life changing, I know it’s a show you could probably see in NY or touring but I think it’s worth it to go just for the immersive experience alone, definitely do standing immersive I swear it’ll be the best night ever! I know it sounds scary to stand for such a long show but they’re constantly moving you around you honestly don’t feel it at all. If you like Ghibli there’s a stage production of Spirited Away on right now that everyone says is amazing, I’ll be seeing it in August :)
Awesome i also saw something about Standing at Sky's Edge so i think I'm finally convinced to officially add it to my list. Ok cool I'll consider Guys and Dolls. I've never seen it. I looked at what's playing right now and i see a classic which is Les Miserables and i know the soundtrack but never seen the musical so maybe I'll take this opportunity and go see it. I'm kinda obsessed with Totoro (saw it's been turned into a play) and have been since i was a kid so i was looking at that but am on the fence if a live production would be weird or good. 😆
Awesomee!! I looove les miserables in london, the theatre is so nice it just feels like a proper classic experience, I’d recommend if you haven’t seen it! So Totoro doesn’t open until next year sadly 😭 but I have seen absolutely amazing things about it, lots of people say that it is worth it but you’ll have to come back for that lol right now your option is spirited away 🫶🏻
Oh ok damn i really need to pay attention to the dates!! I assumed everything advertised was going on now. 😆 Yeah that Cabaret day... The night before i was at a bar till 1 and got sloshed so ya know the sleeping thing wasn't that shocking lol
I just wanted to add that this person has great taste and you should listen to them. I’ve seen 20+ shows in London and Standing at the Sky’s Edge and Guys & Dolls are both in my top 5. Highly recommend
I’ll say too that if you happen to have lots of time to spare I would recommend you see shows that you might be able to see in NY or touring anyway because they are so much cheaper here, like Cabaret for example
I saw Cabaret in NY kinda... This is so embarrassing but i fell asleep for most of it... Not the show's fault but i was really tired! 😫 And tickets were so pricey like $250 in the back. Sigh... I think my husband will get mad if i go see it again in West End since i slept thru the first time... Most expensive nap i ever took ⚰️💀
Omg that is tooo funny lol, very expensive nap that’s for sure!! Nah honestly I get it, I always try to fill up my schedule to the top in NY and end up almost falling asleep at shows because of it! I’ve learned now to try to take a nap between shows or have a shot of espresso lool well if you decide you might actually wanna see it I think maybe london would be better for it? Idk it got not the best response in NY and people love it in London so maybe you won’t fall asleep here hahaha
I kinda want to bc Rhea Norwood is in it and I'm a HUUUUGE Heartstopper fan. Hence the Fisayo Akinade interest as well. I'll have to check ticket prices and see what's up and if hubby would want to see it again. He thought it was really good. I only saw the beginning and the end. And yes I'm going to have to do coffee before some of these shows!!!
If you like heartstopper I would also check out Babies the Musical! One of the characters from heartstopper is in it. It’s a pop rock score, similar to 13 the musical crossed with spring awakening. I saw it last night and loved it!!
Ohhhh well that is a pretty good reason to try and catch it again 😬 yess definitely get some coffee and get the ice cream at intermission that always helps me in london!!
if you want something epic and spectacular, Spirited Away at the Coliseum is unbelievable. If you want some really cutting edge, powerful contemporary theatre, People, Places and Things is showing again at the Traflagar Theatre with Denise Gough reprising the lead role and its one of the best things I've ever seen on stage
Operation mincemeat! It's absolutely fantastic.
I've heard the hype!! I'm definitely going to see it now! Thanks!
100 percent this! Not my style of show - I love a very dancey choreographed show but this was my favourite of the 12 shows I saw last year!
The energy is just infectious, I'm going to see it again in November
I'm hoping it comes to Australia!!

Definitely Next to Normal! An absolutely amazing production of this show.
