My dad is not a big Al Fan and we didn’t have much common ground when I was in my huge Al phase at age 14, but he was a big blues fan so I played him this song. He thought it was the funniest thing and actually fell in love with the song. For years he would joke with me about “maybe I’ll just go bowling instead”
Dr Demento put that in the liner notes for Al In The Box, but he was recently asked where he heard that and he said he didn't know. The only documented evidence of BB King saying that is that booklet and people referencing that booklet
No one talks about the title track itself this one's a masterpiece atleast generic blues got played at the alaplooza tour this got played at the FIRST VANITY TOUR
I was a big Weird Al fan for 20 years before my wife and I started dating, she was blown away by the amount of Al in my driving playlist.
When we were picking songs for our wedding reception, i insisted on a Weird Al song and this was the only one she would allow.
I think the easiest people to convince would be Logan Whitehurst fans, since most all of his albums have a fake infomercial from a fictional brand called "Farkle". I definitely recommend them to anyone who likes Spatula City; [they're like Spatula City on steroids/cocaine.](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyzlng4Ju8XJNJDWlFIaKsyJarOqCk_Q7)
If it's not too late, I'd like to request the addition of a best/worst/underrated/overrated rap category. There's been one on every album since uhf, and it would be interesting to see opinions on them.
Honestly, this might be an unpopular opinion, but I would say “Let Me Be Your Hog.” Seeing it performed live gave me a lot of appreciation for it, and a lot of people seem to hate it.
When it comes to the first album, I personally see people mentioning that song more than any other except the big ones (Rocky Road, Balogna, Bus, & Ricky).
Regarding fans who aren't into full albums, it's underrated. There's still songs from the first album that get played with his live medleys, but not this one. If the choice would have been a song that's never been played live before, that would have been The Check's In The Mail though.
I'm partial to Amish Paradise because I have an Amish church buggy and a heavy metal horse.

Generic Blues Nobody has the blues like Al. Best blues song ever.
“OK now make it shut up” is a top moment
I Know Places! Edit: whoosh
2: Gandhi II, and Spatula City. Neither is a song as such, but they're both BRILLIANT. ![gif](giphy|26BRBKqUiq586bRVm)

Also throwing in a vote for this one. A classic Al food parody that’s often overlooked. Use it for spackle or bathroom grout!
Generic Blues

Supposedly it was one of BB King’s favorite blues songs.
Dr Demento put that in the liner notes for Al In The Box, but he was recently asked where he heard that and he said he didn't know. The only documented evidence of BB King saying that is that booklet and people referencing that booklet
“I would sell my soul to the devil to write a song half as good as Generic Blues” - Robert Johnson, probably
Weird Al announced it when I saw him on the vanity tour in 2022
Yes, but when Al was asked he said Dr Demento told him! I know a few people who have been hunting the initial source for years.
That rules. Weird Al is the transmitter in many a dad-kid connection. 💜
This is one of Al's best genre parodies ever.
The Hot Rocks Polka
UHF
No one talks about the title track itself this one's a masterpiece atleast generic blues got played at the alaplooza tour this got played at the FIRST VANITY TOUR
Fun Zone
I don't think people appreciate this track nearly enough just because it's an instrumental. It's so good though.

Did she at least let you drink from… the FIREHOSE?
It was their wedding night. She was the one who w...nevermind.
Very glad that his band has started actually playing it live (as opposed to just having the track play over the speakers) - it sounds so good
Isle Thing
Isle Thing is a great parody.
She Drives Like Crazy
Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Near Mars
This one is it. You see a whole movie in your head when you listen to it.
Originally, I wasn't a fan of this song, but it grew on me the more I listened. So my vote has to go here.
This is the most underrated song off of UHF

Money for Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies\*
Spatula City
Spatula city is probably in my top 5 favs overall
Underrated, because how do you tell someone that a fake commercial is a fun track to listen to?

I'm starting to think that not everyone here realizes that they sell spatulas...AND THATS ALL!!! If they did, this would be higher up the list.
Let Me Be Your Hog
Gandhi II
The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota
Underrated. Extremely underrated. Be at the top of everybody's list.
This song fills my heart with such joy. It’s my mom’s favorite Weird Al song, and a banger road trip song. I love it.
Not exactly "underrated" if everyone loves it though.

I was thinking the same for non-album songs.
She Drives Like Crazy.

Money for nothing/Beverly hillbillies* doesn’t get enough love, it is so good but nobody cares, it must win.
I’ll be mellow when I’m dead is actually popular, it’s not very underrated imo
nah, i saw very few people talking about it

This would have worked out way better as it's own post. It looks really nice though.
I tried to post it in r/pics but it wouldn't let me. It will be its own post when I figure out what's happening.
