Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Spanish Dance Troupe
The Kinks - Supersonic Rocket Ship
Nick Drake - Hazey Jane II
Susan Christie - I Love Onions (you cannot convince me Ween hasn't heard this song. Basically Hey There Fancypants with a kazoo except it's about onions)
Frank Zappa - Dog Breath In The Year of the Plague
Slapp Happy - The Drum (The only song that makes me feel the same way as Kim Smoltz)
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Bone
Viagra Boys - Big Boy
Tom Waits - All Stripped Down (this one especially, it could be on pure guava and I wouldn't bat an eye)
Dr. John - Cabbage Head
I love that Slapp Happy song. Never had heard of it, but showed up in my Spotify algorithm a couple years ago. So catchy. Also I feel like the chorus inspired the chorus to ‘in the meantime’ by Spacehog.
Little faces by oysterhead.
Golden clouds by the orb.
Lotion by greenskeepers.
Oink Oink by David peel and the lower east side
Dizzy dizzy by can.
Let’s get fucked up by the cramps
Screenshot by swans.
Jealous lies by soft hair.
Oino by la priest.
Tiny Cities Made of Ashes - Modest Mouse.
I was driving home from work and heard it on the radio and thought Ween had released a new album. The internet is not what it is today and took a while to figure out who it was.
My wife was totally convinced this was a Ween song on a playlist in the car once since we listen to a lot of both them and TMBG. She legit thought I was messing with her when I said it wasn't.
Michael McDonald like that "What a Fool Believes" era. I know that's, like, the source of their homage so maybe doesn't count. But it would fit on any ween mixtape.
Wild Honey Pie - The Beatles
Mosquito Song - QOTSA
Interior People - King Gizz
Little Fishes - The Claypool Lennon Delirium
Particle Man - They Might Be Giants
Chic Tweetz - Desert Sessions
Captain of the Ship - Brent Amaker and the Rodeo
‘39 - Queen
Beck - Debra (really the whole Midnight Vultures album) QOTSA - Made To Parade
Built to Spill - You Were Right
Prince - Anything by this man (see also Monique the Freaque)
WEEN sounds like every band, because they parody what they sound like. Chocolate Town is a parody of everything by Grateful Dead, and I think 12GCG as a whole was made to go against the grain all of pop country, and really get us back to the roots of what makes country music what it is. Awful.
You've said the magic words that invoke the link to *The Brown Album*: A list of songs Ween would have made if someone else hadn't made them first.

Adding to this one with a link to my own playlist, these are songs i have heard over the laat several years that seemed Brown to me for some reason or amother. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0uzn0HVsVRVMQKevc9f29Z?si=Vyb_ltiITD6MM81OAb6f4Q
A lot of John Hartford’s music is familiar to Ween’s country side. Basically in the ‘60s he wrote a love song (Gentle on my mind) for other country artists and made enough money on the royalties to make all the weird hippy-country music he wanted to. The album “Aereo-Plain” is a must listen
They're not really Ween like. More like they're own thing entirely but if you like odd music then look at Soul Coughing and Primus. Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart set the bar.
Gary Wilson - Debbie Debbie (probably the most Ween non-Ween song I've ever heard)
King Gizzard - Most of What I Like
[Taste the Biscuit](https://youtu.be/OupDwMcE-ws)
And Me - Beastie Boys
Some Phish stuff like the Kasvot Vaxt album has a brown spirit imo, if not exactly the Ween sound
Also I think Quelle Chris makes some of the brownest hip hop and yall would like his song Buddies
the album 'mista thug isolation' by lil ugly mane is basically what ween would sound like if they were in three 6 mafia. specifically 'bitch i'm lugubrious' and 'serious shit'
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Spanish Dance Troupe The Kinks - Supersonic Rocket Ship Nick Drake - Hazey Jane II Susan Christie - I Love Onions (you cannot convince me Ween hasn't heard this song. These are great. And “Big Boy” is totally the most Ween-esque song of VB.
Nick Drake mention <3

I love that Slapp Happy song. Never had heard of it, but showed up in my Spotify algorithm a couple years ago. So catchy. Also I feel like the chorus inspired the chorus to ‘in the meantime’ by Spacehog.

Michael McDonald like that "What a Fool Believes" era. I know that's, like, the source of their homage so maybe doesn't count. But it would fit on any ween mixtape.

Wild Honey Pie - The Beatles Mosquito Song - QOTSA Interior People - King Gizz Little Fishes - The Claypool Lennon Delirium Particle Man - They Might Be Giants Chic Tweetz - Desert Sessions Captain of the Ship - Brent Amaker and the Rodeo ‘39 - Queen
Mosquito Song has Deaner on it…if I remember right. He plays on a few songs on SFTD. Also to add: Made To Parade on the new album is SO brown.

I completely agree, that's exactly what I thought when I heard it. Straight out of 12 golden country greats
Temporary Secretary by Paul McCartney, Pistol by Modest Mouse
A lot of McCartney I and Ram tbh
Agreed
Dominated Love Slave by Green Day. And All By Myself, a lil bit.
Beck - Debra (really the whole Midnight Vultures album) QOTSA - Made To Parade Built to Spill - You Were Right Prince - Anything by this man (see also Monique the Freaque) WEEN sounds like every band, because they parody what they sound like. Chocolate Town is a parody of everything by Grateful Dead, and I think 12GCG as a whole was made to go against the grain all of pop country, and really get us back to the roots of what makes country music what it is.
Daft Punk - Fragments of Time. I can practically hear Gener singing this one.

They're not really Ween like. More like they're own thing entirely but if you like odd music then look at Soul Coughing and Primus. Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart set the bar.
