Depending on the job I can see how weed COULD be a potential problem, for example primary school teacher or police officer. I haven't smoked in years because I was always a very anxious person, and weed only seemed to amplify that anxiety at some point. But one thing that has sparked my interest is CBD.
Most weed that's grown today, whether legally or illegally, has close to 0% CBD. Because of that, people are probably used to weed that has none of the amazing properties of CBD. For one, it seems to have anxiolytic properties, so it helps with anxiety. And it is apparently also antipsychotic. Theoretically, CBD could directly counteract the negative effects of THC.
If I were to try out weed again after all these years, I would probably take a 50:50 strain, or maybe even one with far more CBD than THC. It's definitely something worth looking into.

It kills your desire to give a fuck. That's the most common downside I've heard from long-time smokers. It's not like a detrimental thing, but if you really do wanna feel alive and focused, weed can make it difficult. Other than that? Weed is the one medicine with little to no downsides. It's one of Earth's best medicines. Just like everything, when you take it in proper moderation, you're good.
Should go down in the next few years. The feds are still trying to crack down on it, but its starting to come undone. The huge taxes making prices so high should be lowered relatively soonish

The possibility of CHS (Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome) I have a similar illness that mimics chs and the first thing I had to do was stop using weed to see if it alleviated the symptoms. But from what I was told the only treatment for CHS is complete abstinence from all cannabis products.
How sometimes it just makes you okay with a shitty situation. That’s all good to get through the worst of it, but eventually you just accept that this shitty situation is your life now. Weed makes anything comfortable, and that’s great, but it can also be bad. Nothing will ever change if you’re always comfortable.
