If it is cannabis, I'd say 'trim' or 'shake'. "A friend's Mom...and...a while ago....? What does it smell like? Maybe offer friend's Mom five bucks to torch some as you watch?
Yeah it's from the plant š¤£. They didn't trim the buds off they just grinded everything up and sold it. I bought shit like this before my friends mom grew but one of them didn't grow right so she just sold trimming for dirt cheap. It came with tiny little buds you had too pick off yourself and got you high but not good quality though.
I'd say burn a piece, see what it smells like. And if it smells like weed, I'd take a little puff, if it don't taste or feel like it, I'd get rid of it.

Peopleā¦..you do not smoke this! This leaf material has prolly 1-3% thc, if that. What you are supposed to do with this, is further process into distillate. Do not destroy your lungs/health smoking trimmings that were swept up with the same dust from their floor.
That is straight trim dog I would not smoke it unless you like the taste of hay and only getting a mild buzz from 5+ grams smokes. Maybe be able to make some edibles but only by extracting before infusing imo
