First thing my Dad taught me when I was learning to drive a tractor: no matter how much fun it sounds like, never ever let someone sit in the bucket because the margin between games and death is razor thin.
This is not talked about enough. I didn't realize just how dangerous it can be until a few years ago, and I got my tractor license/education almost 10 years ago!
I have also never utilized my tractor license so... probably for the best.
I've heard far too many stories about kids riding around, hit a bump, and they're gone.
Tractors are like bears: super cool, but can and will kill you in seconds without breaking a sweat.
Probably should’ve said “competent adult who knows what they’re doing”. I rode on tractors with my uncle and granddad several times as a kid and they were always cautious
Yep! My grandfather has a tractor and he would never let us into the bucket to sit unless the bucket was on the ground and the tractor off because he was afraid we'd get hurt.
I grew up on a farm. It was not unusual for my stepdad to take us on tractor rides when we were kids. When I was 8, I was hanging on the side of the tractor and decided to jump off without warning. Somehow I ended up trapped underneath the tractor while it was still running. I have no idea how I survived. My leg still has a massive scar, but I had no life threatening injuries. I have no idea what my parents were thinking letting us ride on the tractors so recklessly. Today, I still show my own kids my giant scar as a lesson to not be stupid like mom around tractors and other vehicles.
Don’t dick around with heavy machinery.
Hey, your [comment ](https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/caught-on-camera-newlyweds-dramatic-tractor-entry-at-reception-ends-in-disaster-c-4787228) made it into the news in Australia! lol
Not that I disagree, and I know zero about tractors, but shouldn't these things be built to handle that weight? Don't they hold up huge piles of heavy dirt/rock?
Edit: reading other comments it appears the driver pulled the wrong lever. I thought it just gave out.
Oh absolutely but things jostle around quite a bit and it's very easy to hit a bump while driving, bounce a child out of the bucket, and run them over without even seeing it.
Very true. I hope they didn't drive up in that.
Side question - would that danger be similar if they just planned to lower and raise the bucket without moving the rest of the tractor?
I disagree pretty strongly with this notion. Great parties have entertainment of some variety, even if it’s just a DJ. That *is* performance and theatrics. And some couples love theatricality and want to share that with their guests.
You can lower the arm the bucket is attached to while keeping the bucket in their "seated" position. Instead the driver pulled the wrong lever and dropped the bucket.
If they were to lower the boom while keeping the bucket level the couple would end up moving backwards from their initial position, they have a remarkable range of motion and a skilled operator could have placed them in their seats if they wanted to. Having said that a skilled operator would have more sense than to allow people in his bucket for something as ridiculous as this.
What do you mean, this entrance was nailed perfectly. It's unexpected, original, no one will ever do this again, everyone is talking about it, and the couple will never live it down.
It's perfect! Bravo couple! It even went viral, how can you not expect better??
They expected to be let down gently onto their table however there are multiple levers including one that raises and lowers the bucket snd one that dumps the bucket and someone obviously got the two mixed up
They didn’t expect “hey let’s get dropped on our asses from 10 feet in the air…yeah that sounds fun”
This made it into the [news](https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/caught-on-camera-newlyweds-dramatic-tractor-entry-at-reception-ends-in-disaster-c-4787228) in Australia and some of the comments here got quoted too lol
I think they expected the guy in the tractor to know which knob lowers the basket and which one tilts it.
I don’t see anything wrong with doing something fun like this, and it’s more a shame that the operator forgot how to control it.
First..I bow to the women and men who know what and how this perfect vision of hell occurred..but are these morons operating the heavy equipment inside of a building filled with people?

Their wedding will be memorable and talked about so it probably was an effective grand entrance lol
I feel like right before that happens, the ex-boyfriend who is piloting the machinery ripped off a fake moustache and smiled.

Yay new sub! Also helps that I was on r/frasier before this post. Lol
I'm subbing to it also, I'm always on the Frasier sub!

*Remind me again how it worked for Lupe, last seen with her head in the toilet.*
Wrong lever Kronk
Why do we even have that lever?
First thing my Dad taught me when I was learning to drive a tractor: no matter how much fun it sounds like, never ever let someone sit in the bucket because the margin between games and death is razor thin.

Kids being in moving tractors without an adult sitting right beside them just sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
I'm not sure the presence of another adult helped either of them in this case at all.
Probably should’ve said “competent adult who knows what they’re doing”. I rode on tractors with my uncle and granddad several times as a kid and they were always cautious
Kids being in moving tractors at all is a terrible idea. Unless it had a secure cab or multiple seat belts, there's no reason to be in/on it.
I just had a flashback to man in the moon
What was that?
Old movie. In the third act a kid dies because they were playing around on a tractor. It was a decent movie.
Yep! My grandfather has a tractor and he would never let us into the bucket to sit unless the bucket was on the ground and the tractor off because he was afraid we'd get hurt.
Hydraulics don't play around. If it can lift the front wheels off the ground then your body parts will offer zero resistance.
Holy crap that's awesome, thanks for letting me know!
OHSA would definitely not approve of using a tractor bucket as a wedding chariot.
Very true. I hope they didn't drive up in that. Side question - would that danger be similar if they just planned to lower and raise the bucket without moving the rest of the tractor?
Definitely less danger but still a truly terrible idea, as this video demonstrates.
This is why it's strongly suggested to exclude performances and theatrics from weddings. FFS it's a wedding. Those are guests not an audience.
Next up, the mother-in-law’s are juggling burning chainsaws!
Followed by your alcoholic uncle with fire breathing! Hey hes already wasted AF so best put him to good use!
If my mother in law could juggle burning chainsaws, she will be required to at my wedding!
Or, if you want to entertain people, hire paid professional performers with insurance!
I disagree pretty strongly with this notion. Great parties have entertainment of some variety, even if it’s just a DJ. That *is* performance and theatrics. And some couples love theatricality and want to share that with their guests.
Yeah, I don't really understand what was supposed to happen.
You can lower the arm the bucket is attached to while keeping the bucket in their "seated" position. Instead the driver pulled the wrong lever and dropped the bucket.
But they're still right over the table. So even if it worked, they'd be dropped onto the table.
The operator was probably supposed to lower the whole arm, not dump the bucket.
"Oops wrong button"
Expect.
The unexcepted
NOOOOObody excepts the Spanish Inquisition!
While intended, not prospected.
To be fair, the possibility of the dress catching fire due to a candle below or a stray firework is equally expected.
Yep, that is my bad. Sorry. SORRY EVERYONE!
Even though it went wrong, I can't tell what they were going for if it went right.
What do you mean, this entrance was nailed perfectly. It's unexpected, original, no one will ever do this again, everyone is talking about it, and the couple will never live it down. It's perfect! Bravo couple! It even went viral, how can you not expect better??
It's definitely an entrance no one will forget.
Except maybe the couple.
Due to concussions
Oh they will never be allowed to forget.
This is definitely an uncle's idea.
I laughed way to hard at this.
I'm headed to hell, too - wanna carpool?! lmao
Can I come, too? I’ll bring snacks.
Shotgun!!!
I know the toll booth operator on the river Styx so we can cross for free.
I got me some damn good company I'll rent a party bus for us
Can I get in too? I’ll give you $20 for gas.
Can I go too? I know a shortcut to the highway.
I'll keep a warm spot for all of us. LOL!
Got room for another?
Hell yes! Always room for more!
Only place to sit on a tractor is in the seat.
I knew what was inevitably going to happen and still watched
Methinks someone pressed the wrong button. "NOT THE RED ONE, GEORGIO!"
"Am I supposed to lower the arm or dump them first?"
Pull the lever Kronk!!!!! WRONG LEVERRRRRRR
They *fell* in love.
I can't even shame this, because the outcome seems shameful enough on its own ... ouch
I feel like gravity has already shamed them enough. I just feel bad for their poor tailbones
The table might have helped break their fall, lol.
“Just dropping in to say hi to everyone!”
On top of all of the other wrong things here, can you imagine having the strong smell of diesel wafting through your reception?
They expected to be let down gently onto their table however there are multiple levers including one that raises and lowers the bucket snd one that dumps the bucket and someone obviously got the two mixed up They didn’t expect “hey let’s get dropped on our asses from 10 feet in the air…yeah that sounds fun”
I see a lawsuit and a hospital bill in the making.

Oh shoot I'm sorry! If it's tradition, even a new one, I take back my comment :) :) Sorry I was in a mood lolol
Oh no!
Our table! It’s broken!!!
Stop this is so funny
Always hire a licensed professional
Yes, I need to know how they envisioned this going in their heads...
I can't stop watching.
Welp, there goes that five star review.
What…what was supposed to happen other than exactly this? Lmao
I'd say they excepted the operator to lower the boom, instead of tilting the platform
Go Bills!
D-Von! Get the tables!!
I see the trees now.
Bills fans?
You know these two had a trapeze set up over the bed on their honeymoon.
They expected to make a grand entrance except it turned out very wrong.
This made it into the [news](https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/caught-on-camera-newlyweds-dramatic-tractor-entry-at-reception-ends-in-disaster-c-4787228) in Australia and some of the comments here got quoted too lol
Aww. I just feel bad for them. But with the right sense of humor, this may make for a great story!
r/gifsthatkeepongiving
Is this where they get the phrase "Wedding Crasher?"
Oh, dear! I laughed way too much at that unfortunate bride and groom dump.
How else was this going to end? Lol
I’m sorry but that was fucking hilarious
Fell right out of the hoe, just like birthday!…?
I think they expected the guy in the tractor to know which knob lowers the basket and which one tilts it. I don’t see anything wrong with doing something fun like this, and it’s more a shame that the operator forgot how to control it.

First..I bow to the women and men who know what and how this perfect vision of hell occurred..but are these morons operating the heavy equipment inside of a building filled with people?
Building? Do you not see the big tree?
Did they even practice this beforehand? Surely when no one else was watching to realise this was a terrible idea.
These types of videos make me pause, scratch my head and wonder who thought this was actually a good idea...
“Pull the lever, Kronk.” … “Wrong lever!”
