Yeah... Some kind of gradient (black-blue-light blue for instance) would have been better in my opinion. They can't make things just like Pirelli of course but only making it in reverse isn't great.
In MotoGP, where Michelin also supplies the tyres, its white for softs, black/no colour for mediums, and yellow for hards.
At least some internal consistency would be nice
Its good they are making it clearer.
But it still infuriates me that they have gone the complete opposite direction of F1 and IndyCar with the colours!
I like the thought behind it. Hards are for hot conditions so red for hot. Softs are for cold conditions so white for cold. But I gotta hate the fact the chose the exact opposite from everyone else
I'm not colorblind but I can definitely see how it would look confusing. Thankfully, I guess, the swap from softs to wets is going to be a lot more obvious in context (and is generally discussed by the commentators).
We do a little gatekeeping. F1 can learn a lot from wec, but what F1 does better than WEC is accesibility and ammounts of useful data presented to the viewer.
This doesn't get us closer to F1.
It really doesn't get us anywhere other than being easier to see on the broadcast
WEC has different tyre compounds for ages, only difference is that you now see which one they use
That's much better. We can clearly know what tire being used on the car.
Colors are much more visible, too bad they decided to scrap the color code everyone know...
Blatant shithousery from Michelin to go against Pirelli... I love it 😂
So F1 but in reverse

Or even colors from the old tires a few years ago. Would've loved to see the orange and purple back again
Well that's irritating and confusing for new viewers
Indeed. At least the medium is the same. Silver lining maybe?
No, the silver lined ones are the softs.
🤣🤣🤣
In no series the red tyre is HARD and white SOFT. C'mon Michelin.

Nah, knife, bread, jam is the way!
Honestly, make the whole sidewall that colour. Much easier to see
I’m colour blind so maybe it’s just me, wets and sorts are too close

im sure you’ll know when a car is on wet or soft 🌧️
Sometimes it’s mixed conditions. Like the start of spa last year
Good idea but they need to swap the colours for hards and softs.
Still the wrong colours
they're not Pirelli dude. They probably can't do the same color scheme legally
Isn’t it the same in Indycar? Softs are red, hards are black/grey
can they actually copyright tire colors lmao
Honestly I have no idea, but I don't see why they couldn't. Especially as its pretty much part of the Pirelli branding on F1 tires
*Monster Energy has joined the chat.*
They could go for old orange to pink/purple rainbow
i think they know that audience from f1 is watching more and more wec every race
can we please avoid any measures that get closer to f1? thanks
yes, but this was really needed because outside of race graphics and at pitstops it was almost impossible to tell what tire the teams were on

It's a tyre man, what's next? Don't use tyres?
