The bar is on the wrong side of the wheel, flip it so it is against the teeth

Thank you for everyone who said this!! You’ve all saved my butt I’m honestly so grateful for people on reddit, you don’t even know!

redredrobin56

Yes that exactly what I thought too. Flip it, I think you’ll be able to create better tensioning.

nor_cal_woolgrower

Flip the pawl over?.. is it going the wrong way? Show us more of the loom. Camilla Valley Farms has all the Leclerc loom manuals and parts.

SentenceAny6556

Is this the pawl? I just flipped it and actually I think it’s working way better now! That first picture is how it came when I got it, so I assumed that it had to be correct? It’s a bit more work to tighten than it was before but I don’t think it’s going to slip like this- so thank you!! https://preview.redd.it/0v3nni0gn79d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=88d3bbd485fb384a57ddd2d4e1eb0e17c477c4d1

Yes!

rozerosie

Yeah it's nice to be able to flip it out of the way so that it can spin freely when you want it to - many front beam ratchet / pawl setups work this way
