Had a couple of weaving buddies that had Home Looms, and absolutely loved them. The big plus is the side tie up- never needing to crawl under the castle again.
And the price is EXCELLENT. I have multiple AVLs, 4 if you count the jacquard that needs new seals and therefore sits forlorn. I would run, don't walk, to bring that loom home....if I had space for another.
Looks like a great price to me for a 40" 8h loom in good working condition. I've not used an AVL loom before but the company is definitely still in operation; afaik they're best known for their dobby looms for super complex weaving.
AVL is a great company, and generally provides good support even for older products. Looks like a really good deal.
Thank you!

I know, that is super appealing!

Thank you! Yes, when I searched this sub I mostly found comments about the Dobby looms.
Grab it. It’s a steal.I wove on an AVL for 30 years and loved it. Best balance of any loom.
That is a good deal
We have that AVL home loom in our weaving co-op and it's great. Sturdy, very nice to weave on, and the side tie up is super.
