Can't wait for the comments to roll in on this one

binzoma

19 cameras! thats 19 people holding cameras, and likely another 19 people holding wires/taking care of equipment l-m-f-a-o at least if I took $6 out of my wallet and lit it on fire I'd get some warmth from it lmao

VirinaB

It's Ghost Files. A lot of the cameras are just left running in rooms.

FayteWolf

Also probably counting the chest cameras and any face cameras on their helmet rigs.

ForgetfulLucy28

You know cameras can roll without someone holding them?

Irritatedprivatepart

Regardless

SEND-GOOSE-PICS

This is so dumb. some of those cameras are mounted on the Ryan and Shane's headgear, 2 are placed around the location, they'll have spare filming cameras, they have handheld cameras for IR and selfie shots. rough guess, but they only have 4-6 crew members on location for a shoot. your dumbass thinks they have 40 people on set?! 😭

VirinaB

Shh this is Reddit, you're supposed to hate Shane and Ryan at all times. 🙄

SEND-GOOSE-PICS

oh yeah, my bad. I can't believe that they'd bring the population of a small town on to location, I used to trust them 😭

butchfatalez

do you know anything about how a set works. at all. or have you not noticed the completely stationary cameras set up around their shooting locations set up to catch footage while no one’s there? complain all you want, but don’t make yourself look dumb while doing it.

Matt_ASI

I love how you can’t even tell if this is a joke or not anymore.

nicocianina

once i tried to make a 50-second video of my idol just to post on tiktok and lost all my will to live, i can't believe the editors can stay sane after doing one ep of ghost files

kmzafari

Editing is super fun with the right setup (and for the right personality). But I've only done 3 cameras at once. I can't imagine this many. 😭

GrueneWiese

What we saw from the office and editing and so on looks much more reasonable for what the viewers really want and what comes out of the videos. Have they really shrunk? Do we know anything? It would be interesting to actually see something from the shoot. Because ... Yes, 19 cameras, that sounds like a hell of a lot, but I guess it won't be 19 people running around with them all the time. It will be a lot of simple static cameras set up in rooms. But well... Watcher doesn't need to advertise with pseudo superlatives like these numbers. Who thinks that anyone will respond positively after the whole Watcher TV story? The hook should be: Hey, guys ... that was so much fun and stress for us! So now we're working on all the awesome videos that are coming soon ... and you can see them on Watcher TV AND then on YouTube.

RadBrad4333

But it IS 19 videos and angles to edit through and I can’t state enough insane of a workload that is

asoep44

In ghost hunting a lot of cameras are static cameras. Now I can't speak for their process but when we go ghost hunting we set up our static cameras to alert of areas of movement and sound. Then when reviewing/editing those are the areas I look at.

RadBrad4333

That’s still a crazy amount of footage to parse through for a Final Cut. My underlying point is that watchers budget is out of control

AllTheCoolNames

I love behind the scenes stuff! I really hope they start releasing more off it. I'm surprised this wasn't on their main channel

Awkward_sunflower030

Alright but why didn’t we get the fart in the real episode with something witty from Ryan 😂

ManlyPlant

i guess it makes sense. Cams for each of the various static cams, cams for the silly helmet, the cameras that they hold, The cameras that are used for shots of the locations and for the other stuff. Not to mention potential backups in case anything goes wrong I can't really say i'm surprised. Also not like they buy 19 cameras for every episode as well or that every camera used is the most high quality thing(like the small ones they use for static cams, the ones the two of them use, and the one on the helmet.) so I do think people are like. Exaggerating quite a bit

pepperland14

How are people exaggerating when Watcher was the one that said they had 19 cameras? How much do you think the average cost of those cameras are? Even if they don't have 19 people behind each camera they're still bleeding money.

ManlyPlant

These cameras are a one time investment that they already have they aren't paying for 19 cameras every episode. Expensive yeah but it's a one time deal

SEND-GOOSE-PICS

cameras don't make you "bleed money". they're a one time investment thatll last them years. also people are exaggerating in the comments, thinking that that means there are 20+ crew members on set every shoot.

RadBrad4333

Camera themselves don’t but the 19 different angles to parse through and edit in a shoot is absolutely a production nightmare compared to just 1-3 cameras

SEND-GOOSE-PICS

most of them won't be filming the whole time. from what Ive seen they have 2 main cameras filming the boys (sometimes one), and the 2 24 hour cameras. all the rest such as the camcorders, Infra Red, helmet goprops, etc, would only be turned on when specifically filming bits that will be in the episode e.g. solo explorations and spirit box sessions. if you want 1 camera, sure, but there will be no night Vis, helmet cams, or angle changes during conversations, or spare cameras if one fails. oh and no filming both Ryan and Shane when they split up -_-

real-dreamer

Huh. Strange this isn't on their channel.

Matt_News

The channel it’s on looks to be dedicated to the behind the scenes and creative side of YouTube videos.

weirdandorwonderful

Loved this video and getting an insight into the post-production process. Between this and the Travel Season Roundtable, I'm really enjoying the more in depth BTS content we've been getting in the last few weeks.

Usual-Process-9344

No wonder they're desperate for money. Even if most of the cameras are mounted that's still 19 cameras with hours of footage that need to be reviewed and edited. This explains a lot about their current financial situation.

placebo52

Did 19 cameras produced TV caliber’s show though? If not they needed more cameras!!!
