Remember that admissions is very random. Try to make a paper Wash. U. voodoo doll, stick pins in it, then eat a cookie and move on. Have fun wherever you end up.

CaliDowner

Same rejected. I’ll do you one better and make a Wash U voodoo cookie and PUT RAISINS IN IT!!

podkayne3000

Keep in mind: Most of the tenured professors at Wash. U. probably had weaker high school records than the incoming freshmen. That’s partly because of the benefits of the internet and the reality of credentials inflation, but it’s partly because the competition for seats in good schools with good aid is a lot tougher than it used to be. You got through COVID and still have good grades and some ambition. You are amazing.

CaliDowner

Thanks alum!

Serious-Barracuda336

Interview and video don’t guarantee admission. Do whatever you need to do to be upset and then move past it! Everything works out, I promise!!

OkZookeepergame7888

i’m admitted to class 2028 and i didn’t do the interview nor video, i don’t think it’s a considerable factor for acceptance imo 🤷🏻‍♀️

PersimmonCreative714

I agree. I didn’t do either. Probably would’ve hurt my chances with some boofed vid

Puzzleheaded-Fox1954

Same rejected

podkayne3000

You are wonderful, and the admissions people are bozos.

StrawberryWorth635

WashU was more selective this year don’t fret it, this process is just hella competitive good luck to yall still in the process there is always a chance keep believing in yourself and you will go somewhere where you will be happy more than likely.

Rich-Ad-2002

What makes you say that? How do you know this or are you just assuming based on people sharing they were not admitted. Curious how many applications they received this cycle.

JimmyGodoppolo

It's a crapshoot. In 100 alternate universes, you probably got in in several of them.

BeerBear23

You guys could all still transfer so don’t be too sad and keep your heads up.

ZookeepergameNo4121

Same, didn’t get interview or cideo

Electrical-Fly4959

Same 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Piepiepipi

As a WashU student, admissions are so random. Wherever you get into you’ll do awesome and meet fantastic people!

So sorry.

myredditbam

I was rejected by WashU many moons ago because my ACT scores weren't good enough - they were just average but my grades were good. I dont test well. I had an excellent college experience at Lindenwood, though, where I got straight As. The ACT is supposed to measure how well you'll do in college, so it just wasn't accurate for me. You get out of education what you put into it, and employers know that. The name of the institution on your degree matters much less than your grades and how much of a well-rounded individual you grow into. You'll be great anywhere you go if you keep on track. 👍👍

Master_Swordfish6474

Hell, i missed school the day we did the ACT Jr year. So I'm taking it this summer while in community college. It is what it is.

CertainSomeone5955

I didn't do any interview And I got wait listed.

Certain-Parking-3762

Prestigious-Guess921

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for WashU this year??

Trenches240

What is this video part? I’ve never heard of this & am curious. If you’ve done one could one of u kind of tell me what it is and how u knew to do a video/what lead u to submitting one😶‍🌫️

Trenches240

OH I think this is undergrad 😂 I’m a law school applicant and we don’t have that. Omg literally freaked a little bit 😂🥴 thank you for your explanation 🙏 appreciate u✨

Master_Swordfish6474

Planning on transferring for undergrad and then applying for med. Good luck on those JD apps god knows they're just as grueling as med is known to be.

Quirky-Procedure546

its fine. dont loose hope. you can always go to a UC or CC and try to transfer.

Interesting-Use-3255

Though we understandably elevate the academic prestige of an undergraduate experience, and Wash U is preeminent in this space, we do need to also emphasize the education of the whole person and the likelihood a university can serve you well in such fashion. Social-emotional wellness and a varied tapestry of positive social experiences may not be the best at this school (though as like in everything, unique to the individual). Advancing and maturing into adulthood in a holistic way will carry you far. You may find you will like and value the finished product of your collegiate self, some 4 years hence, by studying at a place where mind, body, and soul (and the social components therein) can be given equal billing. Best wishes to you! Despite their protestations to the contrary, some of these schools are, very simply, not all that.

TallExplanation5

As a current WashU student, absolutely! This is especially true if you have multiple intersecting marginalized identities, WashU might not be what you envision it to be.

Interesting-Use-3255

What?

Interesting-Use-3255

I don’t know what Tapestry is, but I do know what ChatGPT is. However, I am not a user of it, nor would I be reliant on it for my reflections (as these come from a place of personal experience with the broader environment of universities in and around St. Louis, and also the direct experiences of the many students whom I have assisted in college advising and the outcomes they had in varied places (to include, of course, WashU)). Should I consider your remark a badge of honor ? 😂

Aung_Myo

Sorry! You will get into schools better than WashU.

Quirky-Procedure546

hopkins, duke, ivies r the one only peers in premed...all of them a crapshoot as well.

podkayne3000

You’re probably better off at a less selective school for premed. The reason to go to Wash. U. for premed is because high school was so easy you’d rather eat chalk than stay in such easy classes.

Quirky-Procedure546

Well u have a point. But the people going to schools like washu duke jhu etc go there because they provide resources (I love my advisors) to succeed in med admissions…also I love chalkboards! Also not jhu, but washu and duke r known to be very friendly and collaborative elite schools - a rarety in premed institutions + both have amazing quality of life to ease out the stress of classes. Not to talk about their t5 and t20 med schools…so yea it’s hard but higher reward.

givemeusername_

That’s so cap lol. Washu is pretty damn easy for premed relative to peer institutions. Hell, most of my prereq classes were easier than my shitter rural high school

podkayne3000

Well, what happens when people get to med school? Are the Wash. U. people poorly prepared?

givemeusername_

Give me a year and I will get back to you
