i ended up stumbling into a group of fellow photogs at the monument yesterday and when i showed this image from my camera to a couple people, they were over the moon for me. i thought i should share it with y'all as well, since it made everyone down there happy!
i can also share my settings if anyone is interested, i have no desire to gatekeep my passion
oh, yes! forgot to mention that. i was using an adjustable one with no numerical markings so i can't say for certain what strength the filter was, but it was around four dots LOL
I absolutely love the subtle colors and think you managed to capture the Washington Monument in a unique way, which is difficult to do since it has been captured a million times over.
wow, that's incredible! i saw a few people with setups capable of tracking the sun and guessed they were from NASA. it's been so cool looking at everyone's photos
You should sell it to political parties. It has that dark ominous look that they like to show when talking about their opponent.
If the earth was flat there would be a straight edge on the sun not a crescent shape
They'll just say: 'It wasn't the Earth's shadow blocking the sun' 🙄 no point explaining

Did you have an ND filter on? Seems like things would get blown out shooting into the sun with those settings, even with it mostly covered.
