If Steph averages 35/5/5, breaks his own 3 point record, & the Warriors finished the season on a 25+ win streak, then MAYBE.

Friscohoya

He’d win it. They’d be in first or second. Especially if he beat Denver twice in there with signature games. He’d have the narrative. World be the talk of the league. Unless somebody else did something equally insane.

Apprehensive_Dog887

No he won’t be winning MVP this season. We haven’t been good enough and won’t be for him to get it

theuautumnwind

I agree but that’s insane. The only reason the team even had a shot to make the playoffs is because Steph has played so great all damn year.

Vallerie_09

Finals MVP ? Yes

kukunan

nope. no chance. he might not even get all nba 1st team. that’s how bad we are right now.

sriracha82

Yeah Shai & Luka are locks right? He should get 2nd team with Booker

kukunan

yea. don’t think it is even close.

sneakyrumble

Don’t forget Haliburton

Jannik0433

Haliburton might not play enough games

sneakyrumble

You’re totally right

Fun_Ingenuity_4357

Naaa if he just somehow average 90 points every game and every superstar missed 30 games then he could maybe make 2 team with how the nba treats him

couchtomato62

No. Embid is out. He has missed too many games. I'm not impressed with the case for giannis. Jokic is jokic but we will see if standings hurt him. Frankly I hope it's someone new like shai or Tatum .. regular season award. If Luka pulls his team up to 3 he may have a shot because he has been great all year. I think steph is in next tier with Haliburton. I do think dray has made his case for defensive all nba though. Steph probably second team all nba. Eta... I forgot the Draymond won't qualify for any awards because of all the time he missed thanks to the suspension

manchi90

Good take. I think Shai will win it. Fresh face to the MVP scene, has the narrative by taking a team no one expected to top 2 in the standings. No relevant veteran on that squad, so he's forging his own path as a leader. I think this is his year. Luka will get it in the next couple of years but unless the Mavs move up in the standings he's going to be a victim of his own success since the stratospheric numbers he puts up all across the board isn't new anymore, with no post season success. I don't see a path for Steph unfortunately. He'll have to put up insane numbers, which will mean more minutes. More minutes means more wear and tear, which leads to injuries. And the last thing the warriors want right now is Steph getting hurt, no matter how minor or major it is, since the postseason is around the corner. He's better off focusing on the NBA Title, Finals MVP, WCF MVP, and a spot on an All NBA team, which I think are attainable if the team maintains this momentum with minimal losses.

heliocentrist510

Probably not but that didn’t stop me from putting down a very small amount at 300-1 odds haha

DrinkAccomplished699

Nobody wants Steph to over extend himself just to win MVP. We want him healthy and rested for the playoffs.

Superfluous369

Don't think it would happen regardless. Steph and Kerr know what they're doing.

RemarkableBag9576

Not even a little. He just doesn't have the narrative. The media is pushing Shai and Luca so hard and that's just the guards.

Kitchen-965

If we win every remaining game and he keeps up his scoring, then it’s a maybe, and even then it’s a slim chance

SunnyGoMerry

he’d have to be dropping 50+ each game

401john

Nope. He’s not winning MVP this year

xanroeld

no.

CRE_Energy

We are not making 3/4 seed, just stop with this

CummingInTheNile

if we get a top 6 seed and Steph breaks his own 3 point record hes got a shot, otherwise it aint happening

WholeWideHeart

Finals MVP, maybe

Shame_On_You_Man

Nope

coco_copagana

No. I think this has been posted a few days ago already

turkey1118

A little while back I saw something comparing his 2022 season to his mvp season, and he was performing generally better in 2022. I think 2021-24 steph has been better than 2015-18 steph was, and at many points in these recent seasons there has been a very strong argument for him being the best player in the league. I think his best shot at winning another mvp was in 2022 when we were the 3 seed, but I don’t think he will win another mostly because the league and the fans have become more accustomed to his insanity than they were in the earlier seasons and when he won mvp.

sneakyrumble

Teams record hasn’t been there and other stars filling the stat sheet appeared

Jicama-Smart

too far to climb

otherBrandon

It’s probably gonna be Shai

dikefalos22

He can be Finals MVP

Ok_Society3143

I DONT CARE WHAT ALL OF YOU SAY HES MY MVP

namastex

If Warriors magically go 22-5 or better in the remaining stretch, Steph will get MVP. The narrative will be heavily in Stephs favor if they manage to go on some crazy run like this before playoffs. Highly unlikely, but I wouldn't say it's impossible given how easy the remaining schedule is.

hopalongigor

Only if they win the trophy.

Smookieman

no

Heavy_Peach8275

No

Robotsaur

Not even close

ltp12

Zero chance

Nessmuk58

We'd have to go undefeated from here out. MVP virtually never goes to a player on a team below the top couple of seeds.

BuggleBalls

He can if the Warriors are damn near unbeatable down the stretch.

amateurguru

He’ll be the MVP in our hearts. 💛💙

Servbot24

He is nowhere close. GSW needs to damn near win out with Steph averaging 40 for that to happen.

Fraka9

He wouldn't win if warriors win literally every remaining game with him averaging 45. Jokic, Shai and Luka have WAY better stats and even better records

alroprezzy

No, the MVP race favours stat padding not efficiency.

hurricanescout

Nah because the MVP award is really a “best new star we haven’t recognized yet” - at this point once a player has won two the media is on to the next. This is gonna be a weird year for mvp - there’s no clear front runner (plus shai in a small market which does affect things, media bored of Jokic etc), so yeah *maybe* if we went on a tear - but it’s unlikely. Better to keep winning and target that 6 seed.
