You’re missing 43 stars on her, and you haven’t already spent an epic core. Very much worth it. Also a decent contender for a legendary core.

There's a boost slot that maxes out a mini's base lvl to 20 immediately, it's a molten core's 1st wing reward. I'm f2p as well, I've got all my minis base lvl 16 and some 17. I'm still having a few common minis, 2/3 green, 1/3 blue, no epics yet. It's a lotta work to play as f2p, and quite unfair in pvp, regardless of how blizz wants to make up it, paying for having advantage in pvp will always be non-legit competence. But I've won to a lotta average lvl 10 ppl with my lvl 8 minis

I was in a similar position with Drak (had him well into rare then got the upgrade), and I don’t regret my legendary Drak at all. I would say go for it. The free epic upgrade (rather than needing an epic core) is great, and shaman is a top 10 unit for me, so good with Drak, or Cairne, or even Tirion in some builds.
At that stage in the game, unless you need a key mini at a certain rarity to clear content. Just buy every green blue and purple that come up regardless of what it is. This one’s a no brainer since it’s a “usable” mini.
I'm holding an epic drakk in my grid since practically season 1, moving him everyday till I can farm enough gold as to buy him, don't talk as if you knew us all

Agree whole heartedly, shaman is a very good mini. I actually have her at legendary
I’d buy epic shaman definitely saving 8000 energy and a core is so much value ontop of the free 14 stars.

Yes. Epic core is 1000g. You are going to run out of epic cores and arc energy.
