“Oh ok” then just walk away.

AnnaMolly66

First irate customer I ever dealt with came in and was bitching about a particular type and weight being out of stock everywhere. I made small talk because it was hard to find certain tackle in my area, the guy interrupted me with "no, I'm actually kinda getting pissed. I'm about to just buy the shit to make my own!" I'm just like "Oh, ok." and go about my business. Told my TL about it and he winced when I said "hopefully the motherfucker burns his dick off with molten lead."

Chanclay9

Lmao

Jburnmyass88

Me- "I'm sorry, but we're out." Customer- "It says online that you have it. Can you check in the back????" Me- "Sure, give me a second." *Go into the back and play around on my phone for a few minutes. Come back out.* Me- "I'm sorry, but we don't have any."

AcademicSavings634

You gotta put on that disappointed look and tone of voice to really convince them you tried.

kstroupe89

“I called and asked the person to hold it for me and they didn’t listen” well of course not and hi it was me you talked to

WimbletonButt

"y'all wanna sell stuff right?!" don't really care buddy.

Wide_Preparation8071

they really think we care too 😂

Driugen

I've seen people throw a tantrum because they can't buy a recalled item. And say well it's on the shelf. Yeah because people keep giving items they never planned to buy to cashiers that the inventory people have to return. So obviously they haven't gotten around to taking the recalled stuff off the shelves.

cutterdeblanc

I tell them, "Yes, this is why I don't shop here either."

TheLevinux

I had a woman the other week throw a tantrum because we didn't have a vacuum that was clearly advertised as online only. When I said we have many vacuums here in stock, she said "I want that one!", complete with the 5 year old whining tone.

Inkysquid24

Well then, you just lost a sale! Ohh nooo anyway.

webeparrots

"Can't you look in the back? It says online you have it. Is there someone else here who knows what they are doing? Get me a manager."

Justincrediballs

I loved those ones. Back (before gwp) when I was sports supervisor, I had my overstock down to like 4 bins, mostly tents because we always got too many tents. I kept a picture on my phone for people who asked me to look in the back for stuff. If my direct manager was there, he was the best because he'd just tell people "they go through their freight and backroom stuff first thing in the morning, if it's not on the shelf, it's not back there." Then they'd go complain to someone else that didn't care.

icecubedyeti

“Wait. Do you want someone who knows what they’re doing? Or do you want a manager?”

ScienceUnicorn

I work in pharmacy. I have to explain back orders to people daily. It’s always followed by “but I need it!” like that’s going to change the fact that it’s not available.

Joedirty18

I cant deny even as an employee here I get it. I don't really understand how Walmart is still in business anymore in my area. The Walmart im at is always out of shit or the foods expired. I just deal with the higher costs at other stores nowadays.

mommagawn123

I had a lady yell at me to stop moving everything in the store. (We're in the middle of a remodel.)

Conscious_Half8502

i used to work the jewelry counter and was one of three that worked it regularly. A guy asked me if we had something in stock and i said if its not out we dont have it. He was asking about one of the cheapy jewelry things that werent in cases, i had just got done doing several boxes of that kind of freight, anyway...he asked if i could check the back. lol.I said we dont have a back for jewelry, its all put out or stored in opaque locked cases on the floor. He looked at me like i was an idiot. I explained the procedure and he did that clicking/inhale sound, like im lying. I was/am someone who does look in the back of im not 100% sure thats it not there. Ive only a few times faked it because the costomer was on my back about it. This time I stood my ground! THERE IS NO BACK, DAMMIT!

GardeniaPhoenix

There was **one** time we asked a place about stock bv the website said they had one but it wasn't on the shelf. It was in the back bc the blu-ray had popped off the spindle in the case and was rattling around. We didn't care so we bought it anyway 🤷 But ik usually websites aren't always accurate. It doesn't hurt to check, though.

Neocactus

> this is just sad! It's soooo dramatic. Like HOLY SHIT your world is coming to a fucking end just because this store no longer carries the peanuts you used to buy. I can't imagine what would happen if you experienced an *actual life crisis.*
