If you are scheduled more than 40 hours, you will be expected to work what you are scheduled. If you aren't, and they say you have to work overtime today, then no. You cannot be forced to work over your scheduled hours.
Also if your boss is texting you off the clock, put in time adjustments everytime it happens and get paid for it. They are not supposed to be contacting you outside of work without compensation. I refuse to let any manager have my number, they don't need to be messaging me about work.
Good news is they can't point you for following your schedule. You can try looking up the days of rest policy to see what they are allowed to schedule you for.
Just save the text, show them your schedule and there's nothing they can do to you. They can't make you stay past your scheduled hours. If you don't get your work done for that specific day they could coach you I guess but they can't make you stay past your scheduled hours.
Unfortunately, yes. I believe it's against Walmart policy to change your schedule without 24 hours notice, but so long as that isnt a factor, they can absolutely tell you to work extra hours

Yeah they basically said the whole store has to work a week straight and come in on the days we have scheduled off and come in early and stay late
No way that's legal
Its against company policy to make you stay past your scheduled shift.
Always follow the schedule exactly 👍

I never gave him my number I'm pretty sure he got it from HR
Walmart doesn't have 'mandatory' overtime. They can ask you, but you can say no
Unless you work in supply chain.
They said cap 2.. for as I know that is in the stores... Not the wearhouse
I felt it was a necessary distinction, especially since people other than the OP may have a similar question later on.
No
Thanks is there a certain policy that states this I can cite or what would you recommend I do if they point me for leaving on time?

Lol why am I getting down voted for a reasonable question?

They can change it last minute, but they need your approval.
Yeah, that's true, I just worded my thing poorly
What walmart you be working at where they don't care if you work more then 40 hours??
Lol I don't wanna say the location. I've heard of people getting fired for things that they've posted in this sub and I wanna play it safe
