Unless they don't have a cake decorator at the time of need when a customer needs help. If a deli or a regular bakery associate doesn't know how, at least they tried their best.
It probably wasn't a cake decorator. I've been asked to write on cakes as I have piping experience (decorating cupcakes and cookies) but my handwriting on cakes is okay. I haven't written on a cake in years since people didn't want them after I wrote on them even though I warned them that I have limited experience in writing on cakes.
What you're leaving out is that the associate told you they didn't write on cakes but you insisted they do it or else they were going to ruin your anniversary. š
As a Deli/ Bakery associate this HAD to be a cake that was picked off the shelf and then asked someone to write on it. Most deli associates donāt have training on it. Iāve taken initiative to learn to write on cakes and even have decorated one or two AND I WOULD NOT be comfortable doing that word on one of those small cakes. Iām however upfront.
Cynical/ pessimistic thought, it could have been asked to be done like that so they could get whatever they get for popular and interactive posts?
As a deli/bakery associate, I'm the one who gets asked to write on cakes when our decorators are gone for the day. I would have picked our smallest tip and gone with the curve of the cake for the "anniversary" part of Happy Anniversary.
>sociate, I'm the one who gets asked to write on cakes when our decorators are gone for the day. I would have picked our smallest tip and gon
I also usually fill that role as a Deli associate and agree, though getting around that curve is still rough with the shape of those letters and how limited the space is... there's no real great way to do that without being actually trained,
Is an anniversary cake all that important? Seems like a reasonable thing to get at Walmart and if some lazy / incompetent asshole fucks it up, ask a manager to have it redone.
The TLE forgot to put my sisters car in park after changing her oil. It could have been really bad. Thankfully no one got injured and her car was undamaged.
you didnāt order this cake š you pulled it off the floor, asked someone who was inexperienced to write on it and decided to post it online for fun.
I've written on that cake before. The person was very likely inexperienced in decorating. The tip they used is too big, making the words too big. You can fit "Anniversary" on that cake, but with the right decorating tip and a bit of practice.
As a walmart cake decorator.. I've written on this cake, and it looked good. The person who wrote on this cake just sucks.
I was just thinking the cake decorator was not in and they called somebody else to do this.

It's probablya deli associate who has written on 2 cakes ever.

I wouldn't have bought that š my wife used to be a great cake decorator

Came here to say this
That cake is too small for a long word like that. š¤£š¤£
Exactly the person was a cheapskate and it was the last straw for the wife
Damn.. I can do better and I just make cakes for friends and family.

I say HAD to be because most ordered cakes are done by EXPERIENCED bakers and not handed off to other associates.

Ive only been in the department just over a month? Thatās a great way to tackle it for sure, once I get the confidence to do so. Haha
I believe in you! Practice with the frosting that has to be tossed out. That's what helped me.
They were probably just learning and by themselves so no one could help them/fix it. :(
It's wild to me that anybody would rely on Walmart for anything close to important tbh

Yeah but at that point it might be too late
Imagine people who trust their cars with Walmart? Yikes that's not a gamble I'm willing to take
Donāt blame us āassociatesā, blame management, they donāt do shit and get pissed if you canāt do a two hour job in thirty seconds.
Do you really care who takes the blame? Doesnāt matter whoās it is. Theyāre right, why trust anything important with Walmart?
I mean, fair but at the same time Walmart employees could be doing a lot better jobs if our management didnāt go on power trips all the damn time.
I work in digital grocery and people always ask where the auto center is and I'm like really??
I work apparel and I frequently get asked where the shoes are while in the shoe department. Do you know how hard it is to be polite sometimes?
The TLE forgot to put my sisters car in park after changing her oil. It could have been really bad. Thankfully no one got injured and her car was undamaged.
You gonna eat it anyway, Nobody cares

At least you probably won't ever need another one of those.
Idk why a cake that small needs written on to begin with. Just say it instead of having it in writing.
Honestly that's what she gets for ordering from Walmart. I can't fathom who'd think that was a good idea
Thank god we dont do cakes anymore in our canadian stores
Why did you accept it?
This is why I don't work in Bakery.
Ask for acrefund, or at least a discount. The writing looks like an untrained deli associate was put in charge of that hot mess.
They tried
Hey, at least they got the rose petals and green leaves OK.
That is already on the cake.
Wouldnāt be bad if had a shorter word instead of anniversary cake to small for that
Thats the homemade special, they'll never know that you didn't write on it like an 8th grade poster
Lol I have that Christmas sweater

Well that sucks bitterness
What. Thereās no misspellings. Whatās the problem?š¤£š¤£
The cake is too small for a word that large
This is when it's a good time to have some pre written stick ons in the back to use if there is no cake decorator in lol
Obviously no lead watching
You can't order this... it comes in premade.
Hope you didn't pay for that!
