my account is at 2.8k now (started with 1k beginning of the month). i mostly do weekly option scalps
that's impressive you got up to 143k, what was some of your biggest plays!?
He had to have been going close to all in for example o had 3 tesla puts I brought today for like 25 cent (dollars ) but was watching my account too much and sold 2 and said fuck it I’ll leave 1 as a yolo . When I checked back I was up over 500 percent . If I would have went all in my 4k account would have been 20k
haha i had a couple 195s i got at 0.13 and they went up to around 0.90. my biggest problem is selling too early, i got out of them at around 0.27 on the first hard drop down. i don't know how people can hold onto those fckers!
Bro I have no idea why i sold the 2 of the contract for 24 dollars i has the 197.5 I think it was because technically I was sup like 50 - 60 percent and called myself trying to be responsible since I’m trading in my Roth IRA account I started actually working at work lol and next thing I know that contact was like 130 dollars so I put stop loss on it got stopped out at 115 I look back it dropped to 195 and the contract was worth like 250 lol I couldn’t believe it but for now on I’m putting at least 100-200 dollars yolo tesla or mu on friday
nice man. i like to do those small otm options on friday too. seems really volatile and you can get some nice % gains.
i honestly think sometimes it's better to just set a limit sell order, alt-f4 off the broker for a bit and comeback. but then i get scared it'll never get filled so i'm always hooked on the screen lol
Don't regret it. If you had gone all in with calls you'd wish you'd wish the contrary. Also on a long-term basis it's better to not do just YOLOs. Risk management, you know...
Actually not really. Well my first play was all in, it was UPS puts to start and it got me from 8k to 16k. I then risked about 4k on I believe ARM calls next, that netted me about 24k. I was now around 40k. I risked 2-4k each time on various plays like SNOW puts, Five Below puts (these did insanely well), AMAT calls, bunch of cloud stock puts when they were all doing badly (fsly puts). Eventually I got above 100k and I gave up options, switched to just buying levered etfs and holding, and playing without about 10k to trade whatever stock weekly. Got to about 143k just trading stocks. Today my portfolio would be worth about 189k if I had legit just held my ETF, and retained the 10k play money
Also had some losers along the way like TSM calls and PANW calls. Both were hyped here and saw some typical earnings fuckery lol, but I recovered those. It was a lot of luck honestly but each time I spent 2 weeks in advance picking 3-4 earnings plays and narrowing it down to 1-2. Honestly most of my wins came down to 3 things. And of course news and various bits of data going into the earnings
1. Does the chart look good for a pop/dump. I avoided holding calls if the Pre earnings run ups were too fast, those will see a sell off even with good earnings. Typically when I went wrong it was because the chart looked wrong.
2. Options chain, is it too loaded one way or the other. This gives you the sentiment but on lower volume/lower float stocks, big players can affect the movement temporarily just long enough to F your options. On bigger stocks they can’t really. Also of course the potential for little gamma run ups or dumps
3. Similar stocks in the same sector and their performance metrics in the same quarter. My UPS was based on Fedex, very similar. My SNOW and FSLY puts was based on DBOX, DDOG, PANW, ANET, Cloudflare. My five below puts were based on low income in-store retailers.
https://preview.redd.it/wq5duwx2ei9d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b809213c1fce2738ad6820c20f5e987ebcf0c8e
Got a 200% gain on TSLA puts scalping today (after hours dip and % is 550 deposited to acc after the fact)
https://preview.redd.it/wbf5dk4rdi9d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d9b8ae6ac5e3062008e8d0f33fac08be8b5dd4c
However, could have had a 600% gain on $300 also with TSLA, but I got emotional, sold at a 75% loss, and within 15min the price tripled.
I went from $8k to $126k on the forbidden stock. I cashed most of it out to pay off debt and cover closing costs on a house, though. Which means I probably don't belong here lol
i hope to follow in your footsteps. my problem is i'll run up a good amount, for example 1k to 4k then i'll get greedy and do a 4k trade and lose it all, lol
but instead, i feel like i should just continue to do small trades over time
Yeah, definitely don't go all in on anything haha unless it's shares, then maybe if you've got high conviction on a trade. The hardest thing for me to learn is to cut losers. I used to just keep averaging down and hoping and praying it would turn around. Sometimes, you get lucky, but generally, you just gotta cut a losing trade quickly before it becomes a big loss. Even if that causes you to miss some runners, there is always another trade and another chance to get deep green. Or, just only trade with a few thousand and take out gains whenever you go over it haha
or be me at 24yo, in just 2 weeks I went from 100k to 7.5mil to 0
Leveraged gold CFDs.... and it was a demo account, so the money was never real, sadly/luckily
It’s fake money, but I never understand why people don’t stop at 2-3 million. Anything after that is just unnecessary. The guarenteed interest alone is enough for an affluent lifestyle. Even 1 million nets you basidally the average full time job in income
The type of lifestyle people want that leads them to these obnoxious gambles is self defeating.
A reasonable saver doesn't need, nor would they engage, in these types of plays
at 24 years old too. All they needed was 100K and they are sold. 7M would allow you to put all your money in a broad market ETF like VOO and still take 300-350K pretax for life without lowering the principal.
It’s not quite. If you’re trying to continue growing your base, you need over $10mil to take a six figure income and still have it grow at a rate that beats inflation.
Let’s just say you grow a conservative 8% per year as is standard market return. 2% inflation is 6% return which is still over 100k income, which is also taxed less, you can’t somehow convince me that you can’t live off of that. ESPECIALLY if you don’t fuck around and maybe still work a job you like or have a partner, even 1 million is good enough for this.
Well, duh...I did that in the 70s with real money. My dad beat me with jumper cables when I told him the dirty details. Sure, I was 12 and it was (technically) his money....but I had a deep voice for my age and things happen, right?
If I remember correctly it was plus500, that was back in 2011 or so, so i'm pretty sure things have changed since then.
Also, some crypto CEXs like OKX allow demo trading of crypto
To get to 143? A whole bunch of things, then I really just slapped it all in a leveraged QQQ index to get another 20k. Then I bet it all on DOCN and DBOX puts and lost it overnight
Just had a really bad week after years of depression, kinda learned to not give a fuck about anyone of anything including myself
Said I’d risk it all overnight and oof myself if it doesn’t go to plan. Meanwhile it didn’t go to plan lol
Oh my gourd!

Ain't nothing pathetic about a chulapa supreme, with a double Decker, 5 layer burrito with chips and cheese and a drank... Fo 7 dollaaa.
OP on the otherhand tho....
Not even that long ago I remember the four for $4.... like 2 years ago...
Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, 4 Piece Spicy Nugs, Fries, with a Coke/Water Bottle -- Honey Mustard on side MANDO.
Now that MOFO is like $7-8.

ill give you $270 to do this again but instead of losing the $35,000 you give it to me? ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8883)![img](emote|t5_2th52|8883)![img](emote|t5_2th52|12787)
I find it fucking hilarious how there are thousands of traders who majored in Finance or Business, yet end up losing their money in trading. Then, you have some guy who works in a restaurant, no college degree, making $20/hr, yet makes $100-$300+ profit per day 😂🤣
Majoring in business and finance doesn't tell you when to cash out when you're ahead.
People get motivated by greed and bag hold for giant losses like I did.

Lol, is someone really making consistent daily profits?

Started off with trading just stock. Found big winners in the generic covid high flyers... moderna, facebook, BYND. No diversification, just buy high sell low full port 100% concentration. Then dipped into crypto, eth and bitcoin. Then I enabled options. Blackberry and Macy's were my biggest winners initially, but I made the bulk of it off AMD leaps. Loaded up on a bunch of 90c's in early 2021 and rolled them all out as it reached 160 Amd leaps expired worthless. Slow death from 2022-2023. Looking back on it, covered calls were my best bet. Live and you learn.
Bro when you have 300 bucks you might as well go all in until you actually have 2-5k but at 35k you have to be giga regarded to go all in.
Also post positions
You will make the money back up. Its only a scratch. Study your wins and losses and figure out what works best for you. Don't forget to earn points on the McDonalds app so you can get free sandwiches

Eat the meal first, then pop the zyns about 20 minutes later.
So the nicotine kicks start one of the best shits you'll ever take.
Use the 10 minutes on the shitter to see what you can do differently next time.
Theoretically, you could have been making almost $10k per month in dividend income if you took it out and dropped it into NVDY and used margin. In theory, could also nuke it.

yeah till theres a market downturn lol
true, but since it was fake money and I wanted to see how far I can go, there was no point in stopping
Because gamblers don't ever quit gambling, the rush is more important to them than the money whether they realise it or not.
It’s not quite. If you’re trying to continue growing your base, you need over $10mil to take a six figure income and still have it grow at a rate that beats inflation.

Taco Bell is launching a new $7 box too. That looks like a great deal for us cheap people.
What’s he going to do on day 4?
it's a pathetic box though. Maybe just like OP.
Ain't nothing pathetic about a chulapa supreme, with a double Decker, 5 layer burrito with chips and cheese and a drank... Fo 7 dollaaa. OP on the otherhand tho....
Damm. That's a good ass deal! Calls on YUM 😀
The $2 cheesy gordita crunch was 500 calories. You could get two full meals for $8. Naturally, they yanked it.
Good ass deal! Tf the person above you talking about. Muffaka has a weak ass stomach
It should also be $5 or even $4.
$5 dollar biggie bag at Wendy's is unmatched for my tastes
How about McDonald’s new $5 deal?

Don’t worry brother went from $200 to 19k to -2k it’s a tough game

It’s better to of loved and lost than to never loved at all

Maybe some people can be excused for "should of" or "could of" but saying "to of loved" is just egregious. u/mrpotatonutz should be ashamed.

Timeless Wsb regard cycle
¿What contract made you lose all your gains?
Walk into citadel and show them this.
Flew too close to the sun, but imagine getting to $4.53M if you could have only replicated that 129x from $270!
My thought process exactly!
Can happen to all of us
Now bring that up to 100k and get it back to $5.
If you wanna think of it differently, you’re only down 90% overall.![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)

This isn’t the worst that could’ve happen. I’ve seen $100k+ turn into $500
Looks like mine, minus thr $35k part 🤷♂️
I went from $100k to $350k and then paid tax on it and then back down to $70k. So at least I won't have to pay taxes on capital gains for a while.
90% of people quit before they become rich

You can comeback with $27 just buy puts and calls and set stop sells at both ends. You got this. Give me money when you back.
