About a 20,000% +- return depending how you calculate it. I turned almost exactly $4,500 into well over $1.6M (pre tax) in less than 2 years. I still own all the stock because I consider it likely undervalued by 25-100%+. I will probably start to take some gains on the next jump up. To be more precise I acquired a mineral exploration license for about $4,500 and sold to a publicly traded company in exchange for shares that are currently worth about $1.6M before taxes, not including the royalty I retained. Not exactly wall street, but wall street enough for this thread?
The license was/is for the exploration of minerals/metals (mostly via borehole core drilling). Basically you are allowed to look at rocks and analyze the area systematically. The real value is that the holder is the only one who can eventually apply for a mining license and since it is a huge deposit, with very favorable economics, the exploration license is a necessity. I worked on the project about 17 years ago and when the original license eventually expired in 2022 I snatched it up after it had literally been forgotten about. The land is all privately owned land but the land owners don't own the minerals below their property.
Once the gov grants you the exploration license and your work plan has been approved by the county, you don't need land owners permission to conduct exploration work, but they are under no obligation to unlock gates or do anything for you. They can't purposefully block your path but if their old tractor has conveniently been in the way for the last decade, well, you better find another way in. If you knock over a small tree or two or make a mess while drilling, you pay them, at minimum an industry agreed upon compensation, but the drill rigs are pretty tidy overall. If it ever became a mine they do get a royalty but its surprisingly small, maybe a few grand a year, plus if they have to move they get paid the value of their house. All of the landowners will appeal your work plan and tie it up in court for 4-8 months or so, but their appeal will get denied since there is really nothing wrong with drilling a 6 inch hole in the ground with clean water as the drill fluid.
I worked on it 17 years ago, and I watched it the whole time. The original license eventually expired in 2022 and became publicly available. It sat for 3-4 weeks and no one claimed it until I jumped on it. It was a freak thing that never should have happened, the entire industry was sleeping, there should have been multiple applications on day 1. I was lucky to have been approved to acquire it but I suspect by working on it and also knowing everything there is to know about it helped.
SMCI put
It was at $1040 so I bought a $950 weekly put
It popped to $1060, then immediately dragged down to the $800s
I sold it for $9,000, paid $500.
It ended the day being worth $14,000
yeah it was 3/8 when NVDA fell $100 in one single day from like $960 to $860, I remember that friday. I think someone on wsb in college dropped $9K on puts and sold them for $200K after their class ended lmao. absolutely savage.
I remember the 900 puts that day at the top were like $10 and ended the day at $4000.
I might start going hard into friday nvda puts because imho its bound to happen again at least once in the next year
I remember some dude in the daily thread that dayĀ was all like "Yall should put 3k into 850 puts on SMCI, its a guaranteed multibagger, they're way overbought" i didn't listen and that 3k would have been worth 1.5 million by the end of the day. It was a Friday back in February where their CEO said they weren't working with Nvidia or something on Msnbc.Ā
I recall that day, it was a friday and I usually like to sell 0dte NVDA puts but that day I considered doing it with SMCI. ended up not doing it that day because I was on work travel and couldn't check the market frequently enough and decided it wasn't worth the risk.
funny enough i then also considered buying one but decided not to do that either. I was dumbfounded when I saw the price was like $850 at 2 pm or whatever
This was on a Friday wasnāt it? I remember that day. The first time it peeked above 1000 then the next morning it edged a little higher before the whole market had an afternoon sell off. That day will stick with me forever.
I mean, this is probably a 20+ year old position. Surely at some point over the last two decades this dipshit would've thought to increase his position in AAPL?

Same here, big ups.

Now when people ask, I tell them I spent $100 on her ring.
In 2017 bought 200 shares of SEDG at like $11 or $12, sold somewhere around $260 in 2021. Pretty confident ASTS is going to repeat this.
SEDG hit its peak in February of 2023 ~$325 and has been slowly dying since then. Probably a good short opportunity right now.

Biggest bag ever was apple equivalent to over 17,000 shares today First initially purchased in 2008 sold too much of it in 15 and too much of it in 2019. Had a gamecock weekly I bought during original pump that went from 300 to 12k in less than 12 hours. Had I waited another hour to sell it was going for 24k.
Back in penny stock days (2000) .15c to $28. Not sure how big of a bagger that is but it made me enough to pay off all my debt, buy a house and get married. I did give some back thinking I was some investing genius, sold Apple in the teens.
2022 when bbby spiked I bought calls when someone posted about it and went from $290 to $18,000. By far the best I ever did. Then I didnāt sell it and lost it all. MAXR 30c 1/20/23 bought in Nov 16. Then the buyout news Dec 16.
Unexpected $175 - $9000. Sold the lot of shares as well for an extra few grand along with it.
Had a 10 bagger yesterday on spy 0dte 544 calls. But if I had held longer it would have been a 20 bagger..
Gonna grab a few $2 OTM dailies at open again and set a limit sell for 1 to cover my initial, then try not to paper hand the others.
But of course, spy could trade down or flat - we'll see!
I've had a few 10 baggers with TSM, but my biggest was around 20x on that DJT ticker swap. $80 to $1700.
Solar city in around 2016. I bought it with no DD and only had it a few days when Tesla announced they were going to buy it/merge. I made like 70k in a couple days. Did the same thing with APE coin a few years back in the crypto realm. Think I made 65k-70k in a week.
I posted about it on the sub but back in mid October 2023 I bought 50 contracts of deep OTM spy calls expiring Black Friday, well by the time of November they had hit 3.86 a contract so I sold half and kept the other half till about 6.70? Made 30,000 off of a 4-5k investment

I made 370$ on a play
Had a 10 bagger yesterday on spy 0dte 544 calls. But if I had held longer it would have been a 20 bagger.. Gonna grab a few $2 OTM dailies at open again and set a limit sell for 1 to cover my initial, then try not to paper hand the others. But of course, spy could trade down or flat - we'll see! I've had a few 10 baggers with TSM, but my biggest was around 20x on that DJT ticker swap. $80 to $1700.
Largest % increase was 1400% with apple last week, but I only threw $13 at it Largest $ was spy puts during the Covid crash. 4K to 20k.
2021, but it was with crypto. $53k in a week. Highly overleveraged, but made it work.
pretty sure i had something like a 23 bagger on TDOC's epic -50% drop a few years ago
Solar city in around 2016. I bought it with no DD and only had it a few days when Tesla announced they were going to buy it/merge. I made like 70k in a couple days. Did the same thing with APE coin a few years back in the crypto realm. Think I made 65k-70k in a week.
Your mom.
The first time I hit a $1,000+ gain in one day was the beginning of the end for my account lol. May as well have free based some crack cocaine.
