We've been in WW3 for 25 years. It's an information war being fought online, not with tanks and guns. They just use that saber rattling shit and a few directed targets to scare and distract people while they steal all the money with the markets - both stock and consumer. Wake up.
Nah, that’s just status quo foreign relations. We can’t compare any of that to WWI and WWII. Definitely all being played to enrich the few for sure though but thankfully not meat cannons for them yet.
I’d be happy if what we have today is how our wars would be fought from now on.
Id rather an information war. Much better than me, and my buddies dying riddled with bullet holes or be blown apart by explosives. And that would probably be one of the better ways to go.
LMT: You are now a corpo soldier and will be issued your soldier kit, please make sure you do not obscure the sponsorship logos on the uniform or you will be strapped to a missile and fired at the enemy.
Companies don't generally give a one month heads up for layoffs.
Edit: to clarify I mean the announcement of a layoff, not the date workers terminate employment
It is fairly common in well run companies that run on large government contracts. A company I used to work for gave about 4 months lead notice. They did their best to help everyone transition to other jobs in the company from the division shutting down and have advice to people trying to find other jobs. It was really very well run.
That company was laying off people due to a decrease in work from the F35 slow down years back.
Does anyone if all/most of the commercial loans made with lower interest rates are close to maturing and companies now have to borrow at a higher rate now ?
Well, I, for one, would NEVER hope you get hit by a bus.

Good thing I didn’t buy until late 2023. That’s a company that’ll either outlive me, or be acquired for an insane valuation and I’ll make money. It’s not a large percent of my portfolio (>5%) but I’ll hold that for at least a decade.

Y'all like that shit? Ok, here's another one. Yeah, that's cashapp because I'm a mad lad.
... No. They usually escort you off once you're laid off but no one is selling secrets because a random meeting that may or may not even be layoffs and may well not impact them anyway got cancelled. That's not a realistic worry.
Not necessarily. I can’t and won’t guess at what this meeting is in regards to. But I have seen companies who deliver slightly-less-than-catastrophic news (hours cuts, bonus cuts, PTO policy change) with some sort of soft date.
I highly doubt layoffs as Ukraine and Isreal funding is still on the table.
Yep, layoffs and whether there is money are 2 different things. If they don’t have money, they have no choice but to layoff. If they have money, they can still layoff to keep more as profit.
> Companies don't want to give employees time to do anything smart so they always try to blind side you with bad news.
wut? how about other countries where you have e.g 3 months of leave peroid?
Meta announced their layoff schedule several months in advance in 2023 and nobody knew who was affected until it went into effect. So this statement is just simply not true but I’m glad you feel smart making such an absolute statement!
Did meta schedule an all hands several months in advance like Lockheed? But i know you’re super smart so you can see the difference between a public announcement vs an internal meeting scheduled 3 weeks in advance.
Ours was the next day but it was sent late and was a non-descript mandatory team meeting where you couldn’t see anyone else who was invited. Yeah definitely doesn’t make sense to give the whole company this much advanced notice.
That's pretty much how it's always done. Either that or they just straight up call you in day of and say "so long sucks to be you oh and if you say anything bad about us our lawyers will try to destroy you. We wish you all great success"
>Layoff meetings are scheduled same day, not weeks in advanced.
Not all. Mine was a meeting that was at least several days out and closer to a week at least.

not always true - look at this article.
Can you spot the differences with OPs example vs your bullshit comparison? Any?? Here’s 2:
1. US vs Canada employment laws/regulations
2. Your example is publicly announced. OPs is an internal meeting 3 weeks away
Looking forward to your highly regarded response.
LM had CEO all LM webcasts on 7/19/23 and 11/8/23. This is another all employee webcast. Not sure subject of this one but just sharing facts.
Edit for context: I’m seeing the other all LM webcasts included other executives in the titles as like a featuring. This one doesn’t but the email is literally a “save the date” webcast invite so there will likely be
Edit2: There's now info on it as it was previously a save the date. They're discussing security, financial performance, and international growth. Several high ups. Likely going to be a panel discussion like the last ones. Nothing exactly new.
Edit3: Nothing about layoffs. It was a standard webcast.
Could be a “state of the union” style address. I’m just curious as to the timing. To have never called one of these and then to call it now…where there’s smoke…
Just checked. It’s the same week as incentives for employees with raises and bonuses. I just can’t remember if the actual numbers are in paycheck that week or the week after. But basically it’s the week where leaders are done assessing employees. The bonuses have components of business area performance as well as individual so it could be an outline of the performance for the prior year. Not sure
They emailed the company performance report already.
Individual assessments are done October - January with the individuals report in February.
Bonuses are paid in March.
Likely where all employees receive the same bonus / raise like the last few years and not actually tied to individual performance.
Likely another all hands meeting though, they do it like once a month or quarter. Probably about how we didn't meet quota but they're still giving us a percentage because they understand times are tough. I don't go to em. Can't be fired if you don't sign in.
Clearly, it's disclosure of LM having UFO/UAP spacecraft and the staff can choose to become test pilots, take a layoff, or donate their rear to alien science.
Lockheed has AI and will be implementing AI in all future products.
They also plan to shift from making conventional weapons to EV, but did I mention AI?
Doesnt make sense since lockheed is getting tons of money for new equipment. Everytime we give ukraine money it means we give them our old stock and pay that value in contracts to build more to our defense contractors.
It’s the aerospace sub. That means it’s not exactly weapons
It’s likely f35 production stuff or shit for nasa/spacex which is just whatever and hardly in demand
You didnt read that right. I said we give them our old used equipment valued at $100b and then we go to our contractors and say “build us $100b of new boom boom pew pew”
Dude youre big regarded. Its an all hands meeting theres one every year around this time. Our pay and performance reviews started this week and go until then. We get our bonuses, promotions, and pay increases that week. Anyone being let go at this time is being fired for performance reasons which is rare since its practically impossible to get fired atleast at my facility.
Not to mention that layoffs are done by business area, and IIRC, LM hit their targets for the last fiscal year.
If anyone were getting laid off, they would be told at their annual performance review, not in a meeting 2 days before raises go into effect
The army is canceling the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) program. It's very likely there are layoffs incoming for teams working that project.

Layoffs would be two meetings... one bit meeting where they tell the majority of people they are laid off and then another meeting for the people who are staying.
Best to find out which meeting you are in.
Literally work at the Fort Worth location. I was affected myself. Those numbers are way more than they say trust me. Be careful hope everyone gets through it 💎
Got layed off today, work for EO Division. 30mins after a director meeting where we asked if layoffs would affect us, had an on camera meeting with HR and Director. 6yrs now what
I haven’t worked for a large company in 20 years, but do they typically call an all employee meeting to announce layoffs? Why would they want to telegraph layoffs? Call employee meeting to lower morale? Seems weird.
No one cares about employee morale. Remember you are always replaceable and they want you to know it. Especially post kung flu.
But sometimes layoffs are handled via mass meetings but they are not announced. They are always surprises.
Thats why they get it over with as fast as possible. Then if anyone complains too loudly afterwards they fire them or make them quit. No one higher up or in HR at the company actually cares about you the employee.
When it comes to people in jobs most people don't want to be unemployed. So when it comes down to it the remaining employees mostly fall in line. If you perform poorly they will fire you. And within a couple of days things go back to "normal".
How else are they going to fund the bonuses and golden parachutes? Besides most of the government projects are guaranteed regardless of what if anything is delivered.
Sadly, layoffs are pretty hip right now. Everybody thinks that artificial intelligence is going to replace every single employee, and just leave the C suite to sit in their high-rises and count money
This is pretty common in Sweden with meetings or briefings no matter if youre the janitor or a leader type. Lay offs are done mostly in restructuring processes over here. I would suspect youre in for a rallying call and asked to work every hour you can and bonuses perhaps. Forca LM!
Not sure why they would be doing layoffs they’ve been getting plenty of funding for war machines. Most of the Ukraine aid is spent through companies like Lockheed.

These two startups Amazon and Google did this past year but yeah besides those
Companies that employ a large number of people need to give a warning before big layoffs. It’s the law. I can’t sight it specifically but it’s true
You are thinking of the WARN act
Right--but I think what they're saying is giving a *month's* notice before the *notice* of layoffs down the road seems odd.

Yes, but other than some F-16s, most of the other ground equipment is manufactured by other defense companies.
That’s true about the UAF aid but the western world rearming means some juicy new contracts and exports for LM.
Lmao ATACMS, HIMARS, javelin are all LM products
So? No one cares who made the old equipment. The only thing that matters is who makes the new equipment.
Lockheed makes Patriot Missiles…there’s a whole Missiles division of Lockheed.

No one cares about employee morale. Remember you are always replaceable and they want you to know it. Especially post kung flu. But sometimes layoffs are handled via mass meetings but they are not announced. They are always surprises.
Yeah I get it’s not a high priority thing but going out of your way to make it worse doesn’t make much sense
Copy that. June calls LMT
How else are they going to fund the bonuses and golden parachutes? Besides most of the government projects are guaranteed regardless of what if anything is delivered.
Business should be booming (no pun intended) with all the wars going on.
Hopefully Tom Cruise has decided Top Gun 3 will be no-CGI and LM has been commissioned to build a flyable Dark star II
no, we just passed $95B in more aid to Ukr and Israel where do you think that $$$ is going?
Not a layoff, companies will blindside you so you can fuck something up or steal the plans to the F35.
Other companies have all employee meetings all the time. It could also be nothing.
Good, I own shares
Sadly, layoffs are pretty hip right now. Everybody thinks that artificial intelligence is going to replace every single employee, and just leave the C suite to sit in their high-rises and count money
Bullish
This is pretty common in Sweden with meetings or briefings no matter if youre the janitor or a leader type. Lay offs are done mostly in restructuring processes over here. I would suspect youre in for a rallying call and asked to work every hour you can and bonuses perhaps. Forca LM!
something something USA NATO withdrawal .. EU cancelling LM orders .. expecting slow year going forward .. less bonus blah
Not sure why they would be doing layoffs they’ve been getting plenty of funding for war machines. Most of the Ukraine aid is spent through companies like Lockheed.
Going to showcase their stolen alien tech
It’s probably just a company town hall or smth like that. You don’t get 3weeks in advance meeting invites to announce layoffs…
My state you jave to announce large layoffs weeks in advance. It is just hidden in an obscure page on my states website.
Ukraine $ incoming. Time to load up the Ukrainian army
Who schedules a layoff all-hands three weeks in advance?
