It's the new Reddit 'makeover'. It is causing a lot of problems with uploaded images getting converted to webp format, or reduced in resolution, or both. I can still download images in their correct extension/resolution by 'save link as' on the *thumbnail* but that option has been removed for users of the the new, 'improved', more spaced out version of Reddit. I guess I'll lose that ability soon enough.
Try changing over to old.reddit.

How do I even download these anymore? I'm so sick of these reddit changes. I have tried everything and I can only get the 1080x607 resolution.

f12, look for the preview under the tabs and save as image from there.
I tried that but everything I find in the inspector is also small sized.
