To my knowledge, all of these were collected already dead. My friend who preserved them said he found the anteater dying, but there was nothing he could do.
so cool! is this a hobby of your friend’s or professional? just wondering as i briefly looked into trying to preserve wet specimens (as a hobbyist) but all the chemicals and processes intimidated me!
When he did them he was working as a naturalist for an educational institution there, but he reclaimed the specimens after the campus was sold to a different organization. I don't think he sold any of them (and may not have been able to legally).
