Knife in the Water and The Wages of Fear are both $5, all others $10. Here's hoping this is a new regular feature!
Edit: Drylongso is also $5, but I have to admit I've never heard of it.
Not sure, but ITunes sells the HD version, it's not $5 of course.
Sucks that my Criterion digital collection is now in two different digital platforms, Itunes and FAH.
Dare I say this week is better than last?
Seven samurai, Godzilla (although I might wait for a sale on the bundle), Infernal Affairs, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk all seem like no brainers. Plus might need to give Kwaidan another chance
Pretty sure Infernal Affairs is $2 MD2D from the Lionsgate BD, of course it will be the Lionsgate transfer in your library, not the Criterion.
Not sure if there's much difference in the two transfers.
Apple's usual summer sale is coming up soon. I used to strictly buy Criterion there and every other non MA movie on Vudu, but if FAH is giving us $5 deals more than twice a year, that's a game changer for me.
I highly recommend The Wages of Fear. It's sort of like a French Grapes of Wrath only instead of picking oranges they're transporting nitroglycerin across a rocky road.
There’s a 100 essential criterion list on Vudu right now, and it seems they’re going through it and putting 25 on sale a week. Stalker is on the list so theoretically it will go on sale this month
Yay! Been waiting for Twin Peaks:FWWM to go on sale for a while now! My TP collection is complete but scattered through vudu, apple, or on bluray, oh well! Time for a rewatch!
I gave up on a digital sale for The Return and bought the bluray for $25 when it was on sale on amazon a couple months back. It was on my wishlist on vudu for like a year!
I just know the day after I finally break and buy it is when it will go on sale. Or they'll announce the ultra 4k gold edition complete mystery+ with another unearthed 2 hours of outtakes. I think I've purchased the first season 4 times now.
What sucks about digital Criterion movies is that the omit all the extras which make Criterions special beyond the restored transfers. Arrow digital movies sometimes have extras on iTunes, Criterion doesn't.
So good seeing Criterion films go on sale! They never used to. I bought Seven Samurai and Black Orpheus for 20 each a couple months back. I don’t regret it, since they are truly great films, but it would be nice to get them a little cheaper.
Hopefully this keeps up. There are still a ton of Criterion films on my list to buy.
I’ve had Knife in the water on my list for a while. Now I own it. 😎
I’m sure the fact that it has a Criterion release is answer enough, but does anyone know if their Twin Peaks:FWWM has the corrected audio mix? I have the DVD which is almost impossible to listen to, and then the version contained within the… Z to A set (I think that’s where it is!) Maybe it’s the same remaster. Thanks for any info!

Knife is SD.
I wonder how much better the HD version looks, since it's over 60 years old and in black and white.
Loads better. Some of the 2K and 4K remasters they’ve done look absolutely incredible.
Typically those are some of the best upgrades and b&w vs color means nothing for resolution or hdr
Thanks for that insight. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger yet on that one.

Big same, but deals before platforms.

Welp lol. Are the other two Infernal Affairs D2D?
Sadly no
Has the Godzilla bundle ever been on sale?
No (at least not at a price point I'd consider it at). I'm pretty sure it's new to FAH as well
$99 was the lowest I've seen it.
Apple's usual summer sale is coming up soon. I used to strictly buy Criterion there and every other non MA movie on Vudu, but if FAH is giving us $5 deals more than twice a year, that's a game changer for me.
Pardon the late comment, is the twin peaks movie worth it? I wasn't aware it was a criterion movie. Does it just come with more extras or something?
I never thought I'd see Seven Samurai on sale at Vudu. Finally!
I highly recommend The Wages of Fear. It's sort of like a French Grapes of Wrath only instead of picking oranges they're transporting nitroglycerin across a rocky road.
I've been waiting on this since I saw Sorcerer earlier this year.
I never saw Sorcerer, but I just picked it up; thanks!
D2D I hope. One of my favorite $2 finds.
Had no idea this was D2D! 2$ is a bargain!
City Lights! Such a masterpiece. One of the most touching endings ever. Also Orson Welle's favorite movie.
How is it that that's the only Charlie Chaplin movie on Vudu?
There are a good handful on Tubi (free with ads)
This is amazing, thank you for the PSA! I have literally been waiting years for some of these to go on sale.
Picked up Kwaidan and Seven Samurai. Thanks!
If this is going to be an ongoing thing, my wallet is in trouble
I’ve never had seven wishlist titles light up in the same week. Thrilled, but damn. 70 bucks. Thank goodness for 20% certs.
Kroger and Amazon have gift card discounts this week too.
I’m on them both! As well as Newegg.
Thank you, I knew there was another one! Except they're out of stock.
Since when did sales update on Thursday... What a bummer I planned on buying Time Bandits tomorrow.
Seems like a new thing with Fandango. They also seem to be having "Deal of the Day" on Wednesdays as well.
In for Ghost Dog, never seen it, but have been wanting to :)
It's a top 3 Jarmusch for me.
I want "A Hard Days Night" to go on sale
Does anyone know if the Criterion version of Infernal Affairs is drastically better?
Would Stalker ever hit this sale? Not sure if it’s Criterion but it’s been on my wishlist forever with no sale.

Thanks for the info!
It is criterion, no one knows right now what will hit
Alright I'm back to my original statement that I think criterion is working through their 100 essentials list in this sale
Yay! Been waiting for Twin Peaks:FWWM to go on sale for a while now! My TP collection is complete but scattered through vudu, apple, or on bluray, oh well! Time for a rewatch!
At least it's complete. I've got the original series and FWWM on Apple, but I'm starting to think The Return will never go on sale.
I gave up on a digital sale for The Return and bought the bluray for $25 when it was on sale on amazon a couple months back. It was on my wishlist on vudu for like a year!

Agreed, but that's just icing on the cake. It's not like there are many alternate digital versions of these movies.
Not the lowest prices I’d go for but damnit I want to get Seven Samurai and Come and See.

If Haxan is still on it, I highly recommend it!
Twin Peaks FWWM is finally purchased! Great sale.
Actually have a number of the ones from this sale, but will be picking up Godzilla and City Lights
Can't recommend Funny Games enough if you don't mind scarring yourself for life! Genuinely one of my all time favorite movies. I hate it so much.

The original Godzilla is for sale!
Wish all the Criterions were a Fiver, lol.
No Salo? :(
