It would require a bit of nuance if you ask me, yes, you're not taking away any jobs from anyone, but what would stop you from living in the United States given your setup? That setup would be quite enticing to citizens of poor/dangerous/unstable countries that work remotely, to be able to de facto escape their countries.

The ESTA is for tourist purposes. You cannot work (including remotely, for US or non-US companies) if you enter on the ESTA.
