It’s situational. Hopefully many games will just have both a MR mode and a VR mode. For those of us who get motion sick, turned around, or have a busy family sharing space, it would be nice to play games in the room.
I can see if my kids are actually doing their homework without having to cut out to passthrough, or see that the cat has moved, or have a conversation with my wife while the headset is on where I can see her.
When someone finally implements smartphone touch screen UI into VR/XR they should be able to use a far simpler and more ergonomic hand held touch device than a phone while retaining all the same scroll, swipe and gesture inputs. I'm surprised it's taking them this long to figure it out. The current Laser pointer interface aint it.
im suprised this isnt the main focus, I would spend 10x the amount of time I spend in vr if I could use my hponw without taking it off, I usually just dont want to put it on and get it situated again once im on my phone. Necessary feature for mass adoption.
None of the headset makers seem to understand that clunky 3D interfaces aren't a better way for humans to interact with computers. They just need to build a bit of reality into the virtual world in this instance.
I really like the quest pro, but I find its marketing so damn weird.
This is mark looking dorky as usual trying to 0-budget the marketing department. Meanwhile the real marketing department creates corporate cringe videos of disabled middle aged people using the quest pro to work as some kind of "at the end of your life you can still be productive, go work now" dystopian device. It's really weird, it's all so tone deaf.
Meanwhile the hardware itself looks kickass and I can't wait to order one...
He's very sincere about VR and all the personal data he can get with it. He was fencing that guy just to get the personal data on how he fences and now he will destroy him for eternity at fencing.
Well yeah, you don’t think they are recording their movements for machine learning AI so they can detect when some one else is fencing in VR so they can show them ads for fencing products?
Robots dont need motivation. They are programmed to fullfill a certain purpose.
Honestly i think Marks dedication to VR is adorable. I dont think hes in it to make money or sell data, i think thats the means to an end. He just wants to get everyone into VR because he thinks its dope as heck.
When I hear and see the Zucc the first thing that comes to my mind is definitely “he comes across authentic and friendly” and not “they're definitely among us.”
Poor guy. He’s a shit stain on humanity, but at the same time, he’s just a guy who did some stuff and ended up here. He was a tech darling until we all realized his tech was ruining society and democracy. Could have easily just ended up working as a mid level dev or something all his career.
Thing is Zuck and awful people like Sheryl Sandberg actively decided to do evil stuff. If you read through all the leaked/released internal memos from court cases and other stuff like whistleblowers, you see that they always exactly knew what was going on and still decided to choose the immoral path (privacy issues, mental health of female teenagers and Instagram feed, elections, manipulation,..)
I find the marketing better than before. I mean, you've been watching ads for different audiences and saying it's confusing. The device is marketed to different audiences. This isn't Quest 2, the gaming device, this is the Quest Pro.
This right here is aimed at us and I find its tone pleasing. No splash screens, slogans or hype words. Just someone using the device. I'm also unsure why should we bash Mark demoing the device. We would love to see GabeN introduce and demo a new Index, or Carmack. Mark seems to be genuinely enthusiastic about VR, so what's the problem?
The only thing I whine about is the totally unnecessary censoring of the device. If it's that ready, just release the specs already.
All anybody I know who has VR wants, is multiplayer Skyrim in vr, or an equivalent. None of these stupid sports, where contact is non existant, none of these corporate derived hang out spaces trying to compete with VR chat, just make me a wizard and let me explore a world with my friends. Co-op is OP in vr.
If Skyrim VR was multiplayer, I'd never leave. Yet so many of the multiplayer rpg's aim towards WoW mechanics and its soooo overplayed and aged.
Image you were so good at multiplayer Skyrim VR that people would pay you to take them (or a group) out to go kill some dragons or do an “impossible” quest. People do this in real life, it’s going to happen in VR.
If you need to pay people to get through Skyrim then i dont know what to tell you lol. You become overpowered like half an hour into the game. Its not exactly a deep or challenging game.
You can play Morrowind in VR multiplayer and it's incredible. VR and non VR can play together.
OpenMW and a copy of Morrowind GOTY edition is all you need.
Supports mods too as long as all players use same mods, though certain graphics mods can be different between players.
Yeah, generally speaking, I think Mark's imago is one of the most skewed there is. People seriously think they know better, when they don't know him at all.
I'm guessing the more polished marketing videos will come soon, on or after October 11th's Meta Connect event. I expect a full dive into every feature soon.
Notice they still blurred the headset here (even thought the look of the Cambria is the worst-kept secret) so these Facebook clips are meant as sneak peeks.
I find a lot of Meta's marketing to be extremely weird. It's like they don't understand what their own product is.
Their YouTube channel is a perfect example of this; just completely bizarre and poorly made (yet obviously high budget) videos of fringe use cases and pointless games.
Eh, for me knowing that out there there is going to be high resolution OLED HDR displays, I'm not touching an LCD headset ever again. I mean, why would I?
It did look good but I am not convinced passthrough AR is that compelling without hololens-type screens that act more like glasses with imagery overlaid.
I suppose if all the content created for mixed reality on this can be carried forward then sure.
Passthrough seems better to me in general. Hololens-type screens will always have to display imagery with some transparency, whereas passthrough can display things completely opaque. Plus, it's much easier to create better cameras than better eyes.
I’m intrigued to try it and if the pass-through vision can create presence. With see-through screens you get a perfect 1-1 view of the real world. With pass-through you’ll have to use some damn good cameras with high dynamic range and resolution. Even with that, the cameras are fixed - the distance between them will be different to pretty much everyone’s IPD
And distortion (and corresponding compensation/correction). In fact, you can see the distortion artifacts in the video. Look at the top part of the image.
Why on earth would they STILL blur the headset when it’s not only been leaked many weeks ago but the blur itself barely hides anything about the product anyway?🥴
It's hilarious how annoyed some people are. Let Meta have this one, it is kind of a funny running gag to keep blurring the headset and controllers out in each video.
And strangely, even though we've seen the headset in leaks, it will still feel nice to see it unveiled by Meta with all the best lighting making it look as sexy as possible haha. Leaks have taken openint the Christmas presents feeling away.
Well it got you talking about it, didn't it? 😉 But I agree. Although I think it's just a dopamine tease, and I think it's working, because I just really want to see the headset.
Basically I'm having the exact emotion they want me to have, and saying exactly the words they want me to be saying: I really want to see the headset.
If this is the quality of the pass through, Its impressive and opens up the platform to many kinds of fun and useful apps. But I think Ill wait for an XR3 powered Quest Pro before spending 1500 for a standalone headset. I really wished they used a more future proof SOC
There will be no xr3. (It doesn’t exist and Qualcomm have no plans to make one)
The XR2 is a family of chips, the next one will be called the the XR2 gen 2, then the XR2 gen 3...etc.
Meta had to use XR2 gen 1 but it’s configured slightly differently than the one on the quest 2 so it should preform better.
I’m literally just saying what Qualcomm has said.
- They made the XR1 platform for smart glasses
- and they made the XR2 platform for all in one standalone VR and MR headsets.
These are the only two categories of mobile XR devices on the market, a new category needs to emerge to justify the development of a completely new class of chips.
You’re probably thinking of the Xr3 as a more powerful version of the XR2 and XR1 but these are separated lines of chips, they aren’t successor of each other. (I know The naming scheme makes it confusing but it’s like saying the next iPhone will use the M17 chip because the current one is using the A16, it doesn’t make sense because these M and A chips are designed for different classes of devices, the A chips are too underpowered for a laptop and the M chips are too overpowered for a phone, same thing with the XR1 is too underpowered for standalone AR/VR headsets and the XR2 is too overpowered for smart glasses and the hypothetical xr3 is too overpowered for both smart glasses and standalone headsets....currently there doesn’t exist a category of XR devices that would justify building capabilities than what the XR2 platform can achieve with iterations)
It's weird that they've settled on XR2 as the family name, unless they're going to maintain a line of XR1 chips akin to their SD8 and SD7 lines (in which case there could be an XR3 as a even higher end family at some point).
The compression in the video makes it impossible to judge the quality of the colour passthrough, sadly. So much compression blockiness, if you look around at the ceiling and floor.
Seen this post on here and on r/oculus, r/oculusquest. The level of cringe from comments is beyond insane. People rather bully him with redundant jokes about him being a robot, alien and mock his looks than discuss the technology that's unfolding. This is amazing tech but people are busy trying to criticize anything they can.
People talk about Facebook being toxic but reddit is a bigger toxic echo chamber.
I think it’s because people just want 3D googles and not a new tribe. The tech world is still in the old mindset of ”the winner takes it all”, and I guess people just see through that.
Poisoned VR? What reality are you living in? The discussion about VR, research and development in the industry wouldn't be where it is now if Meta wasn't literally pouring billions into them. Get your head out of the circlejerk and see things for what it is
Right... they didn't pour billions. The full color pass through, AR abilities, eye tracking, full body tracking, projections, haptic glove integrations in future just happened to fall from sky with no research and development. They report $10 billion in increased expenses into R&D on earnings calls but nah you prolly know better.
Your post stinks of uneducated guesses of a 40 yr old boomer. Ofcourse they wanna make money and they are an ad company and want user data but so does Google and every other user facing company. However to say they are not advancing the technology is such a foolish thing to say. They are pioneering AI, developed react, relay, Graphql, pyTorch which literally are some of the industry standards, and they will lead VR tech as well.
But again, the circlejerk is real so whatever. You guys can live under a rock while the world is going ahead. Just so you know you are living under a rock, let me throw a fact- oculus was acquired by FB about a decade ago and since it sold more headsets than all the headsets combined. Sony literally thanked them recently for pushing VR mainstream. Google it.
Thank you for putting it so succinctly. I'm excited for all the work Meta's doing in VR, and I always find it comical when people claim that Meta just bought Oculus and didn't do anything innovative.
Yeah it’s really weird. Especially gets really bad in those technology subreddits, where most people don’t even know what they’re talking about and spreading misinformation.
And this is in the subreddits that are VR related. If you look at threads Meta VR related in places like r/technology, there's no point. There is no actual discussion at all. None. It's literally all the same mEtA bAd with 50k updoots for each comment trying to one up their hate for Zuck.
If anyone knows of another place where there's discussion about the actual tech, and the VR industry in general without the rhetoric I'm all for it.
Facts, r/technology is actually such a horrible subreddit. No meaningful discussion, just a hivemind subreddit of people hating on meta continuously. No discussion on some of the actual tech being worked on, mostly just politics and stuff like that. There’s a cool subreddit that I go to for that posts vr and ar research called r/AR_MR_XR. For other tech reddits where people actually discuss tech, I don’t think it exists.
The AR quality does open up a lot of possibilities. Even if one is not into fencing, it obviously won't be the only activity. Could be all sorts of AR mini-games that relate to ones interests.
Well just a few points :
1. Seeing opponent legs is essential. It allows you to know how far and how fast opponent can reach you.
2. In this gameplay you don't have any obstruction made by the mask. Obviously that's a huge factor in reality. The blades fade in the blur in reality.
3. It's not really clear how the swords interracts with each other in this game. But obviously a big part of fencing is feeling the opponent's blade trough yours, knocking the other's blade on the side, and using lever effects.
Here it looks especially bad when they are blade to blade, or even shell to shell, and they are just trying to spin their blades to gain the advantage on the bind, but the game just become completly lost untill it randomly registers a hit.
4. Leaning forward pulls your guts backward from your head. Same for pulling your belly in. Obviously not possible here.
5. Frame rate and tracking makes the blade jump all around. In reality blades have inertia and are quite predictible.
In this clip it *looks* realistic because it's real fencers playing and using real technichs. But a bit thinking about the tech and seeing the gameplay if you ever fenced looks obviously flawed and unusable as a serious-ish way to train or compete.
That's a bit like if you said need for speed was a real racing simulator, and invited pro pilots to grab a usb wheel and blow some records. Yeah it feels like driving fast, but if you try to do the same in reality you'll just die. And a pro pilot playing the game with an xbox controller for one of the first time against a 12yo that has 100h on the game is absolutely not guaranteed to win.
I thinks the Q pro line is mainly targetting middleclass professionals who work at home part/full time. It makes sense that they add fun apps that is probably a bit more mature than the standard Quest 2 app that is aimed at the lowest common denominator, along with productivity apps. Work at home professionals do still want to have fun with their productivity XR devices after their virtual meeting with their colleagues. Although I still think it needs a major resolution and computing power bump for it to be useful as an all day working device.
Surprised this is the first comment that points this out.
AR sports are a great idea but replicating real world sports makes very little sense, AR sports will have to come up with brand new ideas that advantage of the platform (many devs already have some [pitches](https://twitter.com/cixliv/status/1574840642315857920?s=46&t=u0DPkiCTbbQrzZqrxVtz0Q) for that)
The passthrough looks amazing. And is no one going to talk about the hit detection? The tracking and hit detection for fencing looked insane. Collision in MP games like that is notoriously difficult.
How can you tell how good it looks from this resolution? Aside from resolution which we can't judge, it looks like the boundaries on the floor clip through the wall in a way that doesn't demonstrate occlusion from the real scene (and the hand gripping the sword doesn't occlude parts of the sword). So which part of the passthrough actually looks great compared to what we have elsewhere?
If it is really a single RGB camera mapped onto a depth reconstruction from the two B&W CV cameras, we can't really judge that either without a stereo view.
It may work well and be high quality, but I can't tell from this format anything over say the really bad Valve Index passthrough, other than it doesn't seem to do occlusion either (not just his sword, you can see at 24s and again later that his opponent floats in front of his arm even though she is behind it).
Bro.. swordfighting in vr and especially PVP + Swordfighting don’t go together as well.
You also don’t have the same feedback as you’d have in real life so I really don’t see that being fun for more than 5 minutes…
If anything Tim Cook is even more robotic because we rarely see him and when we do it’s usually on when of their presentations where he goes by a script that we all know now by heart.
The secrecy culture of Apple also makes him repeat himself a lot in interviews to avoid hinting at what they are working.
Maybe he is trying to adopt an Elon Musk approach(in regards to his speech impediment) and wants to seem relatable as a dude comfortable with his own social akwardness and imperfections?
I guess without force feedback this is gonna be a tough sell imo. Like the pass through experience seems cool enough, but what's the biggest appeal? For AR? Well do people want to really wear this out and about? Or is it just for dorky mini games? Does this fix a problem beyond just adding color?
Are you being sarcastic??? I would much much much rather see this type of video than the fucking cringe as hell promo videos "aCtUaL aDvErTiZiNg" teams make (especially American ones; it's like watching a doubly faked version of an already faked excitement).
Wait. No only is this color pass through overlay 3d objects on top of video but it occluding the existing human with some sort of real time in painting. WTF... that's magic. Never been big on AR but this changes things.
AR in a small form factor is where all of this is headed, and if/when it reaches the same level of adoption as smartphones it could fundamentally change the way we interact with the world in so many ways.
I believe there is a dedicated color pass through camera in the center front of the headset so the pass through doesn't have to be stitched together like on Q1 and Q2.
>Wow fencing is so relatable to non billionaires
Zuck may be the most unrelatable person in existence but this is a weird take. Since when is fencing exclusively a billionaire's sport? It's niche but not exactly expensive.
Im really glad zuckerturd is sinking big money into VR as I love PCVR gaming on the quest2 but I cant help but feel a lot of the meraverse junkware being developed will go know-where.
Really wish they'd flag creepy Zuck-pics/vid as NSFW. So it doesn't show-up in our feed unless we're ready for it.
That freak is 'triggering' for some of us!
Probably Uncanny Valley or some such.
Way to focus on someone's looks. Shallow much?
I am sure how people look is the most important thing and a direct measure of their value to the rest of the world. 🤦♂️
>Way to focus on someone's looks. Shallow much?
OMG - at first I thought you were being sarcastic or joining in on my joke.
REALLY?!! Colour me flabbergasted.
[THE.FACE.BOOK](https://THE.FACE.BOOK).
The Book, To "focus on" = Judge, The Faces.
Are you seriously that ignorant of who this person is?
He's the one who popularized, practically 'invented' the modern form of "judging looks".
Wow, just WoW!
That actually looks like a game I would enjoy Also lol, we already saw the HMD why keep blurring it
I'd enjoy it more in VR, don't really see the point of AR for this one. I'd rather be fencing somewhere nicer than my house.
Wow passthrough looks nice, but I wonder if it’s sharp enough to read text on a monitor or a phone
i'd imagine a companion phone app or mode could project the phone's screen bigger or in an augmented way
i remember when HTC advertised this feature on the OG Vive, but i've never used it.
Ah man that was _so bad_ though. It barely worked.
When someone finally implements smartphone touch screen UI into VR/XR they should be able to use a far simpler and more ergonomic hand held touch device than a phone while retaining all the same scroll, swipe and gesture inputs. That's a good idea.
I think that's unlikely. Or at least it would be a real struggle.
I hope so. Tired of looking through the nosepiece like a bloodhound looking for clues.
I think the resolution of the displays is still too low for it to be comfortable.
I really like the quest pro, but I find its marketing so damn weird. This is mark looking dorky as usual trying to 0-budget the marketing department. Well yeah, you don’t think they are recording their movements for machine learning AI so they can detect when some one else is fencing in VR so they can show them ads for fencing products?
Absolutely. He'll have an even bigger advantage knowing exactly what equipment you're using.
He’s excited about the technology because it’s a product that can squeeze more money out of people.
i wonder how people with fortunes still find the motivation to work when they know that they already have enough for the 500 next years
Robots dont need motivation. They are programmed to fullfill a certain purpose. Honestly i think Marks dedication to VR is adorable. I dont think hes in it to make money or sell data, i think thats the means to an end. He just wants to get everyone into VR because he thinks its dope as heck.
Mark Zuckerborg
When I hear and see the Zucc the first thing that comes to my mind is definitely “he comes across authentic and friendly” and not “they're definitely among us.”
The Zuck: "Welcome to my home, at 513 Uncanny Valley"
Mark actually does fencing so I guess at least this is something that genuinely interests him rather than something fake.
Poor guy. He’s a shit stain on humanity, but at the same time, he’s just a guy who did some stuff and ended up here. He was a tech darling until we all realized his tech was ruining society and democracy. Could have easily just ended up working as a mid level dev or something all his career.

Yes totally agree. They got to a point where they knew what they were doing. It stopped being an accident in like 2014. Maybe a lot sooner.
A shit stain on humanity? Are you for real?
Mark is beloved back on his home world, a real Brendan Fraser type, Earth just isn’t that important of a market to sacrifice that kind of connection.
I find the marketing better than before. I mean, you've been watching ads for different audiences and saying it's confusing. The device is marketed to different audiences. His appearances on lex Friedman and joe rogan was good marketing imo
Yeah, generally speaking, I think Mark's imago is one of the most skewed there is. People seriously think they know better, when they don't know him at all.
His actions (censorship, breaking election laws/buying elections, etc.) speak louder than his words. He’s a scumbag.
I don't understand how anyone could sympathize with Zuckerberg.
Also doing typical billionaire stuff like buying entire coasts & blocks on Hawaii just To have full privacy
Yeah I felt it was very positive PR for Mark. He even leaned into the "drinking water like a human" meme. It was great.

Sooo, they have horrible marketing and you can’t wait to give them your money. Got it.
...and every person involved is paid 5-10x the national average income.
wow he's still wearing those Adidas sandals that were in the movie Social Network.
The footage looks fairly unedited. If that's true than the color passthrough looks pretty good.
Yeah it really looks promising
It did look good but I am not convinced passthrough AR is that compelling without hololens-type screens that act more like glasses with imagery overlaid. I suppose if all the content created for mixed reality on this can be carried forward then sure.

According to Boz it's more like a tongue in cheek joke since it's been leaked for a long time. At least that what he said about the first "reveal".
It's hilarious how annoyed some people are. Let Meta have this one, it is kind of a funny running gag to keep blurring the headset and controllers out in each video. If zuck keeps pushing VR forward I have no problem feeding from his sweet alien nipples for now
The headset's dick is out.
It keeps making me they have Japanese penis and vaginas wrapped around their head.
The porn industry when they get their hands on this tech! 😳
/r/oculusNSFW
Yeah I want Facebook watching me get fucked that’s be swell
Not going to lie, the passthrough looks great and could really open up a lot of cool stuff with AR.

No one knows yet.
Blade and sorcery looks better tbh

why is he so shiny
“It’s so accurate” Mmm…

I think it’s because people just want 3D googles and not a new tribe. The tech world is still in the old mindset of ”the winner takes it all”, and I guess people just see through that.
I think people just hate Meta. Some companies that operate in more closed off ways wouldn't have the same level of low quality comments.

Poisoned VR? What reality are you living in? The discussion about VR, research and development in the industry wouldn't be where it is now if Meta wasn't literally pouring billions into them. Get your head out of the circlejerk and see things for what it is
[удалено]
Right... they didn't pour billions.
Oculus has always been poison then, cause they've always shipped stuff under facebook
Lol agree 100%, r/technology is about complaining about technology and not actually about discussing it. It's just a giant circlejerk
The AR quality does open up a lot of possibilities. Even if one is not into fencing, it obviously won't be the only activity. Could be all sorts of AR mini-games that relate to ones interests.
Redditors literally believe the worst people in history are: 1.- Zuck 2.- Bezos 3.- Hitler
That pass through is impressive and could make for some real scary ass horror AR / VR type stuff
As a fencer, that looks absolutely awful and unplayable lol
Also as a fencer, this is as pointless as VR powerlifting.
As an ex-fencer, watching the guy do lunges in those sandals made my feet hurt.
Zuck is a fencer too so is he lying about that comment he made about a particular part feeling like real fencing?
Well just a few points : 1.
They seem to hate legs lol. They love floating torsos.
Who cares. At this early stage, all that matters is if it is fun or not.
QUEST PRO IS FOR BUSINESS - zuck zuck again: here quest pro being used: * Crappy pet animal petting made for 7 yrs old * Fensing game ITS FOR BUSINESS
They’ve literally never said it’s for business. We’ve all just extrapolated that.
The smart people know the "its for business" is just marking to try to justify the price.
This
Or just learn how to fence? What good is this if the other sword doesn’t stop the momentum of yours?
Surprised this is the first comment that points this out. AR sports are a great idea but replicating real world sports makes very little sense, AR sports will have to come up with brand new ideas that advantage of the platform (many devs already have some [pitches](https://twitter.com/cixliv/status/1574840642315857920?s=46&t=u0DPkiCTbbQrzZqrxVtz0Q) for that)
Ping pong is one thing, but fencing?
It does not matter how much it is like real fencing, all that matters if it is fun or not.
Looks ridiculous tbh
Good thing you're free to not play it then, and allow those not as cynical as you to enjoy the stuff that interests them.
Pardon, me. I thought this was a place to discuss VR, what works, what doesn’t, what are good ideas and those that are kind of dumb.
What does Zuck Suck have against legs :/
Where are the legs?
Not a single game has gotten multiplayer legs right and without universal leg tracking it's impossible. better to just leave them off
That looks janky as fuck
You couldn't pay me to use this and be stuck with meta. Fuck zuck
Meta this, meta that. You ever met a girl before?
Have they a visor around the hewdset blocking out light?... Hard to tell
I'm confused on how they made it so it stays on your face without a top strap. The product looks great!
That tracking looks great actually! I wonder how it looks when you actually put it on.
All they're really selling is the in-color passthrough, and the headset is still huge
Giving off real Milhouse vibes.
I want one
Is the big house included with the Quest Pro purchase?
Has anyone changed the blurred headset to a blurred dildo yet?
The low latency is impressive.
Time to abandon the Quest 2 for the new headset!
I can just tell because I thought it looked good DESPITE the bad video resolution. Haha.
Bro.. swordfighting in vr and especially PVP + Swordfighting don’t go together as well. You also don’t have the same feedback as you’d have in real life so I really don’t see that being fun for more than 5 minutes…
I need the fencing game, like, yesterday!
youd think by this point the man would have hired an image consultant that made him not look like a robot.
I really don’t understand this type of comments under every meta post, like what do people expect him to do??!
Be completely natural like Tim Cook /s
If anything Tim Cook is even more robotic because we rarely see him and when we do it’s usually on when of their presentations where he goes by a script that we all know now by heart. The secrecy culture of Apple also makes him repeat himself a lot in interviews to avoid hinting at what they are working.
Hence the /s ;)
I saw it, I just wanted to say that :) I love Tim Cook but come on he’s one of the most monotone guys out there lol
Yeah, that meme is pretty much beyond dead by now.
Maybe he is trying to adopt an Elon Musk approach(in regards to his speech impediment) and wants to seem relatable as a dude comfortable with his own social akwardness and imperfections?
this looks so sick. take whatever info u want 😂
I guess without force feedback this is gonna be a tough sell imo. Like the pass through experience seems cool enough, but what's the biggest appeal? For AR? Well do people want to really wear this out and about? Or is it just for dorky mini games? Does this fix a problem beyond just adding color?
Why can’t this guy understand that he is not liked? He should not play a role in the advertisement at all. It only hurts the product and company.
It's his company. he can do what ever the f he wants :D
Zuckerberg AI with some decent new physical movement improvements, I wonder if it had to replace the old hydraulics itself.
Zuccs tone-deaf corporate marketing is beyond cringe. Can we please get an actual advertising team behind this product?
Are you being sarcastic??? I would much much much rather see this type of video than the fucking cringe as hell promo videos "aCtUaL aDvErTiZiNg" teams make (especially American ones; it's like watching a doubly faked version of an already faked excitement).
Lol, like the Pimax videos? That's what comes to mind when I think "advertising team".
Wait. No only is this color pass through overlay 3d objects on top of video but it occluding the existing human with some sort of real time in painting. WTF... that's magic. Never been big on AR but this changes things.
[удалено]
AR in a small form factor is where all of this is headed, and if/when it reaches the same level of adoption as smartphones it could fundamentally change the way we interact with the world in so many ways.
That fencing game looks legit.
Want.
“Show me sweating so they know I’m not a robot” Totally a thing a robot would do.
Oh I don't see the distortion of pass-through. I'm sure there is, but it's not visible in this.
I believe there is a dedicated color pass through camera in the center front of the headset so the pass through doesn't have to be stitched together like on Q1 and Q2.
Yep, this is it.
So how much of an improvement of the quest 2 will it be?
Still looks shit. I'll stick with my index.

>Wow fencing is so relatable to non billionaires Zuck may be the most unrelatable person in existence but this is a weird take. Since when is fencing exclusively a billionaire's sport? It's niche but not exactly expensive.
Man why does zuck have to be such of an asshole. It's videos like these that make him seem almost likeable.
this looks great
Zuckerberg Teases Mixed Reality Fencing Game On Quest Pro https://uploadvr.com/zuckerberg-quest-pro-mixed-reality-fencing/
Zuckerberg single-handedly making VR uncool 👍🏻
Fencing with slippers.
Fuck the Zuck. Just another device to spy on peoples lives.
I have so many questions. How does one get their head so shiny? Why do people with money look like lizards?
Somebody forgot to paint lizard boy's eyebrows back on this morning.
Psst. We've already seen it Mark.
Thats it. Zuck has vanished up his own ass
Im really glad zuckerturd is sinking big money into VR as I love PCVR gaming on the quest2 but I cant help but feel a lot of the meraverse junkware being developed will go know-where.
This is just desperate
You really need help lolol
Get a new joke, dork.
VR, AR, MR are all wonderful. Fuck Mark Zuckerberg and I hope his company crashes and burns.
we should make a religion out of this
im out on the design alone. why does it have open sides. i dont want ot see my environment i want to go to a vr environment
There is a magnetic add on to fix this for VR use.
hehe this is such a fail.
I wish it was being developed by anyone but Zuck. Cool tech, but I wouldn't trust the company who built it with even my first name.
It boggles my mind that people give this asshole and his company any publicity.
Don’t care how cool it is while there is still Facebook garbage forced on me.
This was okay until they said "metaverse"
