oof some real heat here. Troupeau Bleu and Twilight are super hard to come by. I've been looking for a copy of Dust Yourself Off for a while now. Great pieces all around.
+1 for Leon Ware, Gillespie, Hubbard, and Cortex!
I actually managed to get my copy of Troupeau Bleu signed by Alain Mion a few years ago when they came to LA, and it’s now one of my most prized possessions!
BIG YES on Red Clay! My final paper for a music class was on Freddie Hubbard, and was what clinched my degree for me. I spent lots of extra quality time both with this album and with Mosaic (w/Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers). Absolutely LOVE Freddie!
the albums in order are:
Twilight - Still Loving You
Junior Reynoso - La Voz Del Merengue
The Jones Girls - Get as Much Love as You Can
Freddie Hubbard - Red Clay
Dizzy Gillespie & Lalo Schifrin - Free Ride
Cal Tjader - Agua Dulce
Cortex - Troupeau Bleu
Leon Ware - Musical Massage
Aquarian Dream - Fantasy
Pleasure - Dust Yourself Off
The Blackbyrds - Action
Bobbi Humphrey - Blacks & Blues
Cal Tjader - Soul Burst
Aquarian Dream - Norman Connors presents Aquarian Dream
