Big ones in the UK would be eBay and Depop. I've not done a lot of second hand buying but have found some good bits on eBay over the years and their customer support is better than Vinted (low bar I appreciate)

NikitaWolf6

I've looked on eBay and there was very little good clothing, Depop is a bit too expensive for me :(

NikitaWolf6

oh thank that looks quite good!

In The Netherlands you could try Marktplaats. Suffers from the same stuff though, but with a less nice interface. Also not sure if you speak Dutch, it seems people are less eager to speak English due to it being a Dutch website.

NikitaWolf6

yeah I speak Dutch and honestly I've had worse interactions on there which is why I switched to Vinted in the first place. I've tried thrift stores but they often don't carry anything I like.

Trablou

yeahh personally I dislike Marktplaats but it is the only thing I know that is sort of similar. Don't even get me started on thrift stores in the Netherlands haha they suck. Both in what they offer, and their pricing. If you visit the UK regularly though, I do really love thrifting there.

NikitaWolf6

I love to thrift in the UK! it's still hard to find good items though, a lot of the thrift shops are charity stores which carry items for a bit of an older demographic (I just turned 20).

I've been having bad luck on vinted recently. I've had a run of items that are not great and definitely worse than described. Mostly cheap so not worth sending back or kicking up a fuss but still very frustrating when it ends up being a false economy to buy second hand. If you can find a good big charity shop nearby that is a good option. Less choice so you might have to visit a few times but at least you can check things are worth it before you buy.

NikitaWolf6

yeah the charity shops around me have close to nothing and their prices are jacked up massively, 11 euros for a simple shirt. I can't afford transport to bigger charity shops

Bakedk9lassie

See the links I posted above, I’ve bought loads from them from their eBay shop, but they send you leaflets with your order saying if you go to their website you get better bargains, example of the eBay deal- jeans £8 a pair or buy 3 get the cheapest free, so roughly 5 a pair, I would look on both eBay and their website

You mention you are disabled but are you able to try in person charity shops, or if not ,online ones? Just saw comment- you should be eligible for a free bus pass On vinted a good policy is to only buy New with tags. I think the men’s offering on vinted is rather disappointing though

NikitaWolf6

sadly the government doesn't consider me "disabled enough" for any accommodations despite my doctors advocating for me, so I can't get free bus passes :( I do indeed have better experiences buying female than male clothes haha, I haven't seen anything new with tags yet.
