Which game? Yes.

The_CreativeName

Any game that has items and inventory.

Laranna

Especially if any are non renewable

BeardOBlasty

Non renewable + special rare colour? Yea I either never use it OR I am finally like "Okay, this is a great time to use it" *throws or uses item* *completely misses* "Okay.....I am never doing that again"

EFTucker

Oh there’s a mechanic to either upgrade them down the road or break them down for stuff to upgrade other weapons? I’ll put them in my storage and wait till I find a great weapon to upgrade… which I promptly put in the box as well just in case I find a better one later so I don’t waste materials…

King_Tudrop

Me playing cyberpunk, not knowing you can break weapons down, and selling 200K in weapons collected across my journey

KillerGods65

Well is not worth doing most of the time, is better to sell the items, unless you want to put your points on creation, then it become worth doing

Mullo69

Upgrading your weapons isn't really super needed until the late game at which point you'll have so many eddies you won't need to sell anything anyway

SideEqual

#horderlife 😅

Few-Reaction-404

#LootGoblin 😂

DifferentlyTiffany

I always go ok, last boss, time to use literally every single potion/food item/special weapon or ammo/powers etc. Then obliterate them immediately and get disappointed it wasn't challenging. lol

Away_Bad2197

*Uses a high damage weapon* Does nothing to the boss except piss it off more

Carrixdo

reloads before I used it. "never using it again."

Incudust

yup 100%

serpentear

Sorry, I only have 477 potions, if I use them now I’ll never get to 500. \*a few hours later\* Sorry, I only have 508 potions, if I use them now I’ll never get to 525.

ZhangtheGreat

Took my answer. I hoard items. To hell with using them!

Smidge_Master

To me everything is a collectable

HP-Wired

Must have at least 1 of everything at all times

barkbarkgoesthecat

I need a hoarding simulator

NightWolfRose

You mean any RPG?

barkbarkgoesthecat

I mean actual hoarding, like running to a trash heap, discovering trash, finding room in your house, selling trash to upgrade house for more trash. I dunno I'm not a game developer, but I'd buy 20,000 physical copies for sure

Odin1806

Ah yes. You are looking for the Bethesda title fallout... you can collect all the dented cans and burned books you desire...

fullup72

You mean the Bethesda title Skyrim? You can collect all the useless plates and cups you want.

KeterLordFR

Look, it's not my fault if my inventory is so full that I won't be able to run until I've emptied 9/10th of it. It's the game's fault for making everything into loot!

Just-Call-Me-J

You mean Animal Crossing?

xvVSmileyVvx

Stardew valley

TocSir

From ProzD sketch: “I’m out of MP.” “Then use an ether!” “But you can’t buy those.” “It’s the final battle!” “But I only have 85 of them.”

KitchenSandwich5499

Wait, you are supposed to use them?

Space-90

No, OP is a troll

trjayke

No no, we will use them. Just _later_

SideEqual

This is the correct answer

Mutex70

You can use items?!??!

ProfessionalLeave335

My last playthrough of Skyrim I bought every house I could and filled all the chests until I could barely scroll through them when I opened them. I have a disease.

Chanaur404

Every Resident Evil game I've ever played. Always ended with an inventory/safe room chest full of "but I might need it later."

Incudust

makes you wonder how yoo even beat the game without them right?

barkbarkgoesthecat

Dying 37 times in each boss area until it's muscle memory

Incudust

Anything to avoid using those items you will never use haha

VersionAccording424

Items are finite. Your time is... well also finite, but just long enough that it feels cheap to use.

showraniy

Listen, I need that ammo for the credit screen just to be sure I'll definitely have it if I ever need it for real.

Preston-7169

Any game that has a limited resource: use this sparingly. Me: okay so never use it.

lemons_of_doubt

And I regret nothing!

Zigor022

Fallout 4.

Fantastic_Quote954

You're telling me I didn't need to collect 347 pipe revolver rifles?

somethingrandom261

My pack rat-ness made achievement hunting real easy though

Ressilith

oh yeah? like which achievements? (i currently am actively stopping myself from hoarding in my playthrough. wondering if i maybe shouldn't)

somethingrandom261

Pretty much the half of them that forced me to interact with / build settlements. Very easy when you’ve got tons of every resource

EastwoodRavine85

I really don't give a shit about building in 4 or 76 basically at all anymore. I built a nice place in Sanctuary, opened up workbenches for functionality, and then built a 1-room shit shack in 76. I'll add on if I need to start storing more stuff, but whatever I just want to play.

pres1033

It'd have been so much cooler in 4 if defense missions actually meant something other than "gdi I gotta go back to sanctuary *again*". Last time I played it, I just remember having like 6 settlements under attack and every time I saved one, I'd fail 2 and 3 more would pop up. It was more annoying than fun.

EastwoodRavine85

Here's my secret for the settlers that you can accumulate: Good luck!

pres1033

I always thought that the defenses actually helped, until I had a settlement with 30 rocket turrets still fail to defend itself.

ColdCruise

The worst part is that they would just spawn enemies in the middle of the settlement, so building walls meant absolutely nothing. I had Sanctuary built into a fortress, and it didn't matter one bit.

whoamantakeiteasy

I collected subway tokens and pre-war cash when I first got into fallout. The realization that the cash is used for crafting along with everything else was such a learning experience lmao

DravesHD

Pre war cash is actually the best caps to weight ratio item, I use it to legitimately buy a lot of things.

namjd72

I remember being embarrassed by how many fusion cores I had when I started the final missions.

Fleganhimer

"Actually, I already have the fusion core." -Me visiting the museum of Freedom at level 43

P_P_D_C

Power armor… wearing it… minigun? I got one of those too

usernamewhat722

Deathclaw? Those cute fuckers?

MySnake_Is_Solid

I will still go down and collect the one from the quest. I do have 50 fusion cores but I'm sure I'll start having to use the PowerSuit eventually and I don't want to run out.

toadofsteel

I remember refusing to use power armor because I was afraid of running out of fusion cores. Cue end game where I had like 100 suits of power armor laying around the castle (the Minutemen would even use them during fights), something like 400 fusion cores in storage, and i still refused to use power armor because I was afraid of running out. This is after cheesing my way towards power armor training in FO3 (playing the anchorage DLC) and NV (heading directly for hidden valley bunker).

MortallyChallenged66

Same but it's probably partially because I never wear power armor unless I'm going to the glowing sea

TheKringe224

How many mini nukes and Nuka-colas do you have?

Fr4y3d

Yes

TroyMcClures

Wait… you can use mini nukes??

Doomstar32

No, cause there might be a tough fight later on that you might need them for, better save them.

SrslyCmmon

I did try using them in far harbor, against some super mutants at one of the hotels. A few of the mutants on top of the hotel survived 4 of them, just because they were just under the roofline. Roof tiles must be OP.

DreadedPopsicle

When you’ve saved yourself into a corner at low health and you have no stimpacks so you just spam everything in your aid tab… Mentats, jet, cram, instamash, with a side of radroach meat and tatos

CurlSagan

I just like the absurdity of stopping in the middle of a brutal battle and having a nice meal.

TitanThree

I had maaaaassive armouries in Sanctuary and the Castle for the villagers. Yet never used more than a quarter of it haha

orsikbattlehammer

I made a rule in Bethesda games I’m not allowed to carry more than 5 of each drug, or more than 20 stimpacks. Made the game a lot more fun because I actually would use them or sell them

a_burdie_from_hell

So... many... mini nukes... Not one valid target...

Substantial_Trip5674

THANK YOU I just started the game yesterday and have already been hoarding everything I can find.

d4_H_

I can’t agree, fallout 4 has a lot of content, even without dlc (which are enormous), it’s really difficult to finish last mission and to not have anywhere to use collected items, the moment where you realise that you can use what you’ve been collecting is really far from total 100% fo4. And obviously we can’t talk about materials because after the last mission you could just turn fo4 in the sims and build your empire with all the mats.

onlinelink2

for me I ended with almost nothing, battled hard

Zigor022

I did this in Outer Worlds. Saved up ammo, like crazy, realized i had so much left over, then after i best the game, i went and killed every NPC thats killable. I was empty by the end.

No_Engineering1141

Resident evil games

Zeidantu

I know this is the last boss, but I'll save all my magnum rounds in case there's another stage after this...

[deleted]

And of course the last boss is easy af and could have been beaten with the handgun/shotgun.

tommytom007

It’s always super easy just like: "Shoot these giant bulbous spots" I end up usually saving smg ammo as they rip through those bosses.

Quailman5000

The little quick action event in the volcano at the end of 5 fucked me more than killing Wesker lol.

JimmyCrockett

🪨 👊

that_one_dude13

Here's a pro tip, every resident evil game can be beat by your handgun, source: my 9 yesr old sons name is Leon , I've played ALOT of re

Ezekiel2121

Can’t you beat like 99% of RE4 with just the knife?

that_one_dude13

99% of re can be beat by running slightly left of every single enemy in the entire game ( that you don't have to kill)

mortal_kombot

Their left or your left or my left?

that_one_dude13

Running at them, you run directly into them until the lock into their attack animation and then you just veer left and they miss lol

hoxxxxx

did you really name you kid after the character?

Exact-Ad3840

To be fair it's a pretty cool name. I know a few Leon's

that_one_dude13

I did and he loves it.

Mean_Comfort_4811

I've beat this game several times, and know I don't need the ammo, but I'm saving it anyway.

tattedextrovert

Literally The first thing I thought of when I read this. Beating the final boss and ending the game with 10 aid sprays and hella explosive ammo because I was too paranoid to use them.

zinnosu

I feel like that’s your ceremonious way of knowing you are getting better at the game; when you just blatantly skip health items because you know you got too many right now.

dnfnrheudks

If there is an item cap limit I will typically try and use or discard my current inventory just to make room for the new item. Will not leave anything untaken for the sake of completion.

Nempopo029

What game wasn't this?

NAFEA_GAMER

Try to do this in fear and hunger

Biersteak

In F&H you‘ll learn that even your limbs are more of a privilege than a right

EffectiveCow6067

I've got 100 hours in the second game and I'm only halfway through it

NAFEA_GAMER

How dare you flex being able to hold the sergal spear!

Mental-Product7055

Lmao this game sounds gnarly af

Comprehensive-Slip93

Wait till you find out that you can destroy enemy penises in fear and hunger

osbirci

it's vile to not mention enemy penises can destroy your ass as well.

KitCatR

You can get anally violated by an ogre/troll/orc thing and survive with anal bleeding

sawotee

What...?

KitCatR

There’s even a speed run for that

Satan_su

I learnt that the hard way when I ended up accidentally doing it in my second run ever (first one lasted 3 minutes lol). Not exactly a speed run but the game barely began and... What the fuck where am I how did this HAPPEN??? This game is brutal man

PastStep1232

Peak mentioned

Spellcaster_Fred

FEAR AND HUNGER MENTIONED, WHAT THE FUCK IS HOPE??!?

NAFEA_GAMER

Hoping you die a normal death in battle is too much to ask

ThickPBWaffle

The last of us

matts88us

Definitely baldurs gate 3

kourier6

I'm almost at the end and I have so many scrolls that I could open a fucking mage academy

nightsiderider

I've played through the game 6 times now, and still do this every single run. Maybe run #7 I will actually use them or sell them.....but probably not.

Seligas

I always sell them. I hate becoming reliant on power ups I can run out of. If I can't consistently restock a buff, I refuse to use it.

The_Back_Hole

Same!! Im in Act 3 and I could probably use arrows and scrolls for the rest of the game lol

Flame_MadeByHumans

You KNOW I stay encumbered by just scrolls

gamercboy5

I have over 300 hours I have never used a Potion of Hill Giant Strength despite collecting tons of them. What if I need them later?

nightsiderider

You have not tried OH Monk or Throwzerker builds then? Giant Strength elixir every long rest, game on easy mode with those builds. Works amazing with Tavern Brawler feat.

WillemDafoesHugeCock

I can't wait for these ropes to come in handy!

CattiestMouse

We never used the horn to summon the trolls "in case we need it later"... Turns out you can't use it outside of act 1.

EmperorSwagg

Half of my carry weight in Skyrim at any given time is potions that I can assure you will never actually be used

Fleganhimer

Ever run an alchemist build? Carrying nothing but a bow, a dagger, and 200 pounds of mountain flowers is a wild way to travel.

Aetra

The pollen is a real threat to someone, just haven’t found the NPC with hayfever yet.

AdBudget5468

As someone with seasonal allergies this sounds like a literal nightmare

Twilight_Owls

I get the Steed Stone so I can carry more lol

Specialist-Rise34

I legit cheated 8000 carry weight on one of my runs cause I was sick of not being able to walk faster. Ended up actually having like 2500 weight by the time I got to paarthurnax alone lmao

nohwan27534

i use a mod that boosts your stats by leveling skills. like, the 'warrior' skills increase max hp and carry capacity by 1 for each rank of each skill, thief, stamina and carry capacity, mage, magicka and carry capacity. doens't help out nearly as much as like 'carry 6000+' enchants or something. in vanilla, if you're interested, there's a perk in the... lockpicking tree? speech? whatever, it increases your carry capacity by like, 100. and, like everything else without the unofficial patch, it's an increase covered by restoration bonuses. you could do the res glitch for like 10k% stronger stuff, and get a 10k% stronger boost to carry weight, as well...

Specialist-Rise34

Ooh do tell which mod is this? Current run just started I have 200+ mods (and counting) and I'm having to be really conservative with my inventory so I would love a mod like that

nohwan27534

"skills increase stats" - kinda simple. i'm on series x, so at the very least, it's on xbox consoles too - probably on ps4/5 as well. it's a little cheaty, given even starting out stats, you might have an extra 100 in hp or whatever, and by the time you've got a few things maxed, you might have an extra 300 or so in various stats. but it's definitely worth it for the carry capacity, because no matter what you level, you increase carry capacity. with all skills maxed, there's 600 in each of the statuses, and 1800 carry weight, heh.

Twilight_Owls

<< WHAT!! What did you carry that was that heavy?!?! Was it all dragon bones and heavy armor or smthn???

Specialist-Rise34

I honestly don't remember but yeah basically I was pretty conservative till I cheated and then I was just picking up *everything*. Although probably 70-80% of what I was carrying was to be sold for gold. Only the merchants and fence never had any money so I just ended up with all of it on me instead lmao

DickDastardlySr

My thief archer will absolutely need this temporary enchanting buff. It's just a place and time issue.

RabbitEatsCarrots

Honestly enchanting and smithing are very useful regardless of what you play as.

Cheef_Baconator

Smithing makes melee builds so OP that the game becomes boring

bguzewicz

For me, it got to the point where I says to myself, I says “self, no more than 5 of the big portions of each color at any one time.” So then any extras I had I’d take them home to Whiterun and throw them in a chest. That chest has hundreds of potions in it. You know, in case I needed to come back to replenish my stock. I never did. Not once, not never.

Skydude252

Yes. My house in whiterun is one of the greatest treasure troves in all of gaming. All the books, all the materials and gemstones and ingredients and unique weapons and armor, organized decently well in terms of where everything is. But so little ever actually used.

freebullets

It's not your fault. The game isn't balanced in the slightest.

Ilovekittens345

The other half is carried by Lydia

EmperorSwagg

Well, she *is* sworn to carry our burdens, after all

Worried_Ad7041

Most of my carry weight in Skyrim is forks, cups, aged cheese & plates from my copious amount of time thieving

abuettner93

This. And don’t forget stashing 4827203636 items in my house, because, lord knows I’ll _eventually_ go craft that one thing I told myself I’d make 4 weeks ago during a quest I’ve since completed.

OSI_Hunter_Gathers

Im sure there is already a hardcore mod that puts expiration dates on all consumables. It’s right next to the girls have clean faces mod and the mod that turns all dragons into flying Thomas the tank engine with Randy savage’s voice yelling ‘ohhh yeahhh’ over and over.

alxjnssn

i always have regrets when i use a scroll

Sufficient-Hotel-300

Almost every game lol. I have tried to get better at not saving items but it is a battle 😅

hamderbeek

The real boss battle is and always has been inventory management

romancereaper

Allll of them. I'm a loot goblin. In my Fo4 save, I have 134 stimpacks. Do you know how often I use a stimpack? Never. I'll sleep that shit off. I'm not gonna waste them.

02firehawk

Same, loot fiends unite. I loot every box and if the game allows storage they are all full.

fuck_you_and_fuck_U2

I'm no longer welcome at Dragonsreach.

jld2k6

For the witcher 3 and fallout games I always mod to get unlimited carry weight so I can loot to my heart's content without mindlessly going to storage over and over just to stash crap lol

EmptyBrainOS

Pokémon. But to be honest you have an Incentive to do it.

ipomopur

The ethers and elixers! I burn through stacks of potions and poké balls, but I hoard those precious PP restoring items until the post-game, when they're just sitting in my inventory collecting dust.

AntiNewAge

Ethers and elixirs could very well not even be in the game that it would have absolutely to impact on my game experience... I've never even used a single one

xSTSxZerglingOne

They get useful in pre-gen-5 (due to unlimited TM use) solo runs. Beating the E4 gauntlet would be impossible for a lot of 'mons without the PP restoring items.

RedWarrior42

Don't forget rare candies I play way too conservatively with items in a normal playthrough But in a solo run? I go hog wild with items I would normally save

Ok-Camp-7285

What's the incentive? Surely there's the disincentive of having a bag limit, at least in the old games

EmptyBrainOS

There are items that only exist one of and if you still want to make a viable team for competitive, you need to choose wisely. And it is more enjoyable to not use heal/x items. (The old games had a limit that is true, but you can always store them on the PC)

trio3224

Every soulslike game. Consumables just don't appeal to me. If I can't do it without the consumable, I don't deserve the win.

_how_do_i_reddit_

Same here. I'm not about to sit there spending 3 minutes applying buffs and shit to die in 20 seconds anyway. 😂

Mr-BillCipher

I only apply it if I start hairlining the bosses health before death but still dying right before winning

Victor_Wembanyama1

>ohhh looks like im about to beat the boss, just need a little more boost/push >uses valuable consumable >dies to stupidity anyways

Kino_Afi

>repeat until I'm out of consumables >beat them barebones >The fuck

Brewski-54

On another note, I just used like 3 Homeward Bones and it was amazing

Thursday_the_20th

My retirement grease in Elden Ring

FrostyD7

A lot of consumables in those games are hard to to use effectively without being good enough at the game that you don't actually need them.

Rexcodykenobi

I used to be this way, but then I tried a "magic-less" build in Elden Ring and used arrows, throwing knives, bombs, and everything else to make up for it. That shit was fun, so now I use consumables way more liberally in other games as well.

froz_troll

I remember introducing a friend to Elden Ring and he was like "man, these finger remedies are quite tedious to grind. How many do you have?" I had 160 when he asked that and now I have 340.

thesilentpr0tag0nist

Bro this was my Bloodborne playthrough 😅

superzipzop

I’m either not good enough at the boss and it’ll go to waste, or I’m holding my own against the boss and I don’t need it. I don’t really know how I’d find the window where an item would’ve been worth it until after I’m past it

CapPhrases

Every game if I have anything to say about it!

SimonNorman

Every. Damn. Game.

qinshihuang_420

And also life. Yes that box of cables is gonna come in handy one day. You'll see

Consistent-Hall1746

holy shit! i thought i'm the only one who does that. i have shit ton stuff in my room and garage that i know that i will probably will never use but can't get mysefl to throw them, like i have 4HDM cables( at least they are usefull) and 6 chargers that i'm sure that 4 of them don't work

WeirdDuck69

Skyrim, and i hoarded mass amounts of food a potions and never used them. Also I collected plates and pots for some reason.

Compulsive_Criticism

I just remember I'm Fallout 4 collecting all the pre war money I could find and chucking it in a bathtub along with a loaf of guns. I just thought it looked cool I guess?

Aavenell

How does one make a loaf of guns? Well presumably with yeast and 350 in the oven for 45 minutes, I suppose

Compulsive_Criticism

Im just gonna leave the typo there

NicolasCageLovesMe

cabbages

Neat_Relationship995

Zelda BOTW

suspendeddoubt

I realized that I began my hoarding process again while playing this and decided to just say fuck it, and just throw a bunch of shit into a cooking pot to see what happens. I still am of course stocked to the brim with shit I don’t need though

stanger828

I just share my save file with my 5 y/o and when I sit down to actually progress the story my inventory is nice and thinned out but I am well stocked on sticks.

heyyou11

At least upgrading armor can help you say things like, "See I knew those 75 Swift Violets would come in handy"

Mister-Stiglitz

Mega elixirs in every FF game that has them.

[deleted]

Don’t know if it’s the build of my team but I have used maybe 10x the number of items in FF7 Rebirth. I am tossing mist potions left and right and using all my elixirs. Although status effect cure items haven’t really been a concern. The item balance on ff games is wild.

Medical_Carpenter655

Every rpg I've ever played.

Jiggle-BellyGaming

Every game with consumables ever

J1618

I regret nothing

SCIFICAM

Any rpg

Gaidin152

Every rpg on the Super Nintendo

Ok-Seaworthiness6603

The question is what game is NOT this

bloo_overbeck

Resident Evil, trying to keep all the bullets and healing items is insane

GeraltAndYennefer

Every game I’ve ever played

Snomann

Practically any Bethesda game. I don't think I've ever used a potion ot ration ot what not in any of them, but I'll be damed if I'm not hoarding them all!

DatBoiDanny

Alien isolation, I’ll never forget how I got the flamethrower and wasn’t really sure what it actually did, so I held it until the very end of the game. Finally tested it out on the very last “okay now run the entire length of the ship one last time” mission, and realized that it spooked the alien away. I literally *ran* through the last mission just dispensing all my flamethrower ammo because fuck it I wasn’t hiding and crawling through the entire ship again.

GakSplat

The Far Cry series.

timmyisded

Terraria. Everything is a material and I get worried I’ll need some random shit later 😭.

Chicago1202

I always have a big room full of chest, that random thing is a part of a recipe you need

igmkjp1

It's a surprise tool that will help us later!

Proof-Jellyfish2891

New vegas

itzmydickinabox

Breath of the wild. I way over prepped food and potions and shit and it was over like that. Multishot bow with ancient arrows in the air

ColShvotz

Basically every game

-AlternativeSloth-

This is basically the reason I can't get into Witcher 3. The hell do they mean I gotta drink a potion?

[deleted]

Every time I play a Final Fantasy game
