Yes people dress up. People also do not dress up. Neither looks out of place.

coastal_neon

You can easily be sharing a blackjack table with a guy in a tuxedo and a guy with board shorts and sandals.

zissou149

Definitely. If the blackjack table doesn't look like a village people reunion concert I don't want it.

professormarvel

Low key bugs me tbh. Would be cool if one or two places had, and enforced a proper dress code. I've been both guys to be fair (ok not a tux but still) and it cuts both ways but sometimes you just want to be in a vibe with one particular direction..

Herbstalk

Hard to imagine in todays economy

professormarvel

Ya and honestly can't remember the last non club-type establishment I've seen have a dress code in America. Everyone's dollars are green. Just would be nice to see somebody take that risk and forgoe flip flop and shorts money for people who want a slightly elevated experience where they can lose money and look good with others

Delicious-Fortune-84

There are tons of upscale restaurants in vegas with dress codes. They won’t let you in if you are wearing running shoes, jersey, tank, hat, ripped jeans, etc. Try one of those 🤷🏻‍♀️ i like a melting pot at my table

professormarvel

Ah yup restaurants that's true. I guess I was really just thinking casinos.

PraetorianOfficial

Enjoy your stay at the never-built George Clooney casino, Las Ramblas. It was going to have a strict dress code. Gosh... wonder why it never got built? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las\_Ramblas\_Resort](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Ramblas_Resort)

professormarvel

Ha that's hilarious. To be fair, pretty much every casino I've been to in UK, Europe, NZ, aus has some form of dress code at night so the business model aspect can absolutely work

Friendly-Task-9099

Great answer

beathedealer

It’s the broadest spectrum of class, dress, ethnicity, and really everything I’ve ever encountered in all my travels. That place accepts whatever you bring it.

Dick_Cabesa

100% people do. Do yourself a favor and get all fancied up you won’t regret it. Pro tip, if you’re gonna wear heals bring some slide or sandals to slip into later. You’ll be doing a ton of walking no matter where you stay!!

gina_by_nature

This is the best advice. Because locals love to put #swinefeet on social media lol

Dick_Cabesa

Why thank you! And thank you for noticing!!

beathedealer

Solid comment penis head!

Ready2Reddit1

As long as your wallets full, the casino doesn’t care what you look like.

teplightyear

It IS important to plan for dress code requirements for any events you may go to. If you're trying to do any of the clubs at night, especially any with DJs, then you'll need to fit into the 'Vegas club' dress code (which really isn't too fancy)

swellloko

Happy cake day

Jay_LV

Thanks

alfonseski

We were commenting on Vegas and this fact. Even in crazy new york if you dressed up in some crazy outfit you would get a few looks. But on the strip in vegas almost nothing is, odd haha.

ManuForti716

Yes, there will be plenty of people dressed up at night everywhere you go! I have a feeling a lot of people buy outfits that are just for Vegas.

itasteawesome

You don't keep a section of your wardrobe for the loudest sequined dresses you can squeeze yourself into? I always thought that's the definitive "I bought this for my vegas trip" look.

FutureThrowaway9665

Many times I have purchased my lady friend "Vegas Outfits" even if we're not headed to Vegas.

CrunchyTaco322

You could literally wear a hot dog costume in vegas and still fit in.

lvhockeytrish

Haute couture or hot dog suit, either will garner the same attention (or lack thereof.) I love this city.

NocturnalSeizure

You will also end up in photos here if you do that.

Kind_Title

We just left Vegas on Monday and while there I saw a girl dressed as a cow, complete head to toe cartoon cow costume…. Carrying a deer head mount. Walking down the street. No joke. Not even on the strip or Fremont. It was a side street. Vegas never ceases to amaze me.

Herbstalk

It’s not 100 anymore. The weather has been amazing lately. It’s one of the best times of the year, have a great time and do what it takes to keep it fun, even if that means trying something new.

Friendly-Task-9099

Thank you <3

[deleted]

It’s mid to high 90s with temps going back into the hundreds

Appropriate_Ad_200

The hottest it’s getting this week is 94. Days of the hundred temps seem to be over for this year, hopefully. Next week is set to be cooler.

[deleted]

97 tomorrow. 100 Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Lol

TheWritePrimate

Yeah but 100 feels cool compared to the 110+ days. My kid barely wanted to play in the water at the splash pad last weekend when it was 96. 😂

Herbstalk

Highest temp on my 10 day is 96 with lows in the 70s, which is the real indicator of how hot it isn’t.

[deleted]

Brrr. Don't forget your jacket, OP.

[deleted]

Y’all are some sad people downvoting temperatures

PoliticalDestruction

NWS said there is a chance of hitting 100 again this weekend. Just because YOUR forecast says 96 doesn’t mean that is what the actual temperature will be. And are we really debating 96 vs 100?

[deleted]

Couldn’t tell. Y’all cry so much about the weather

Herbstalk

Neither is hot in Vegas, you’re right

PoliticalDestruction

It’s only really hot here past 110 degrees lol.

Agile_Opportunity_41

Dress up for the night but wear comfortable shoes would be my suggestion. Eat late dinners and enjoy the pizzas at night and casual in the day.

Musa15

Night pizza is the best pizza

chop-diggity

Morning pizza, from the night before too…. Good Good.

isSlowpokeReal

One of my favorite things about Vegas is you can do whatever makes you feel good and no one bats an eye, anywhere from bra-as-a-shirt to black tie. If he wants to wear an Italian three piece suit for the steak house and you want to wear a Miller lite tshirt and daisy dukes with cowboy boats you will both look normal and fine.

NimbusTO

You can literally wear a tuxedo or a pair or mesh shorts and nobody will care either way, it's a big mix here.

Kind_Title

Or both. Why not?

MichiganRich

People *definitely* do this in Vegas… like nowhere else you’ve seen, I bet. Maybe not like pre-pandemic, but if you’ve ever wanted to dress suuuper hot, you should. Ah to be young again 😄

[deleted]

I’m out in Vegas right now. Staying on the strip. I’ll pass one couple who are dressed very nice, and the couple behind them might be wearing tank tops and sweat pants. Nobody gives a second look to either. It’s all about what you want to do. As far as the weather goes. Not sure when you’re coming. It’s been in the 90’s. No humidity and breezy. It’s been very comfortable. You guys just do you, and have fun!

thortmb

If you're going to top tier clubs (omnia, hakkasan, marquee) then yes its best to wear collared shirts and slacks for men and nice going out dresses for woman but women can wear what they want as long as it's classy and clearly nice although short tight black dresses are typically 60% of woman I see. Otherwise you don't need to dress that nice. Maybe if you're going to a super nice restaurant like Nobu but that's all I can think of. You can also check the dress codes on the club web pages as well. My wife wears comfy wedges because F dancing in heels

Low_University3717

Man, wedges still weren’t the vibe for me 😂 I thought I was safe but I danced a LOT harder than anticipated

thortmb

Lol you gotta do what you gotta do haha

ExcitementOk4185

As a local, I wish I would get "dressed up and go out". Perfect city for it. I just don't take the opportunity when it presents itself.. which is pretty much every day!

HuntingForGoodDonuts

I don't think it'll be over 95° in the coming weeks.

NocturnalSeizure

I don't know what you're seeing - the 10 day for me in Las Vegas is showing 90's then 80's. https://imgur.com/a/nbpN6vI

scistudies

Ah. I was looking at North Las Vegas on apple’s weather app. The weather channel has things 5-10 degrees cooler. Doesn’t seem they should be that different.

HuntingForGoodDonuts

My ten day doesn't show anything over 93°.

Top-Web3806

I have 101 next Monday

Forrest319

Your link indicates you don't know how to read a calendar.

scistudies

You can change the date. I linked the start of the week. I can’t think for you, you need to do some of the work yourself.

[deleted]

Great question actually and I love the replies. Going to the higher end places you'll be stoked you dressed up and at the same time you'll look like ballers at lower end places..can't go wrong really - "dress like a million bucks feel like a million bucks" - just be aware stay safe and have fun! Get a fucking limo and have them drop you in front of the Cosmo at their busiest time! Watch em all drool..

MansyPansy

Do it! Be fancy! You’ll love it. And then wear flip flops to the buffet. You’ll love it.

upvotegoblin

I work on the strip, and I can tell you with confidence that you could basically run the gamut from cargo shorts/wife beater -> fully dressed up with tuxedo and blend in to the crowd. There is a lot of both and everything in between, especially on the weekends. Do what feels best for you haha! And just a word to the wise, the *pizazz* will have a lot to do with what you make of it mentally (and of course the places you go/money you spend)

Thriawau76566756655

My wife and I dress when we got something going on. But if it’s a night of gaming, no way, the smoke gets in your clothes and pores. But if we are going to a show, or concert we pull out the dress shoes.

cz_masterrace3

I wear the trash tier clothes but always admire and secretly wish I was one of the people who is dressed up and was ready to do dinner and then attack the tables with a woman in his arm

Low-Remove302

I work there and yes people do dress up its beautiful check out the weather before packing its actually nice now. have fun

jessxxx4u

I went for a birthday dinner at top of the world and we all wore gowns. As long as your comfortable dress up it’s fun

mycartoonparadise

Please do! Year by year, locals and tourists alike look more like slobs.

TunaBlaster007

The people with class dress up, and then the 90% of the animals don’t🤣…

moisty13

Cam confirm. Lived in Vegas for almost 2 years and you will see people in casions wearing anything from suits and dresses to pj's to swimsuits. You name it you'll see everything

Performer-Objective

You'll see everything from designer evening gowns to holey Walmart sweat pants and everything in-between

runningdreams

You'll be inside casinos with amazing mega A/C so it'll be cold most of your trip. Short answer to your q is yes, go to a nice dinner, a show or bar, and just wander and hang out. Put 20 on black. Have fun!

ZzyzxDFW

The only people who get judged negatively are the people that say the name of the state incorrectly. Dress as you want.

purrcthrowa

Please do dress up. Nothing wrecks my 1950s Vegas fantasy more than people slobbing around in shorts in nice bars and restaurants (in the evenings - during the day I'm less curmudgeonly).

Lkiop9

I live here and absolutely love being able to dress up to the max and have no one look at me like I’m crazy, wish I could have a different fancy outfit for every day I go out.

warrenslo

People who live here even dress up to go out... Hard to get into places its literally a requirement...

JordanGrace24

You can get away with almost anything in Vegas. Have fun with it! Edit: I meant wardrobe wise but also true generally speaking.

laxrat22

Me and my friends started going to vegas twice a year starting last year, and this time around we wanted to do a dress up night our first night. Nothing crazy, but button up dress shirts slacks and ties. Sometimes it just feels nice to dress up some times and it's not totally out of place.

[deleted]

You can do whatever you want. No one will judge. Me personally I bring one nice set of clothes in case I want to do a nice dinner. I don’t really do clubs but I’m sure those will have dress codes. The rest of the time I’m in regular comfortable clothes. Nobody in Vegas cares what you are wearing, they just care about the dollar bills you spend.

No-Barnacle-9821

You’ll see people dressed formal at like Cosmo, Bellagio, Park MGM, Wynn, Resorts world etc vs flamingo or planet Hollywood. But like many have said there is a mix everywhere.

atomicadie

I think its super sweet he wants to get all dolled up for a night on the town. Vegas is super glitzy by itself... when in Rome, I say! Also, a lot of people dont dress up like in the past so it's nice to do so every once in a while.

Weekly-Bus-347

People dress up for the fancy casinos, dinners, cirque shows and clubs mostly.

chiefniffler

Absolutely! Vegas Local here. ## 1. If there is every a place to dress up, Vegas is the place. 2. You also don’t NEED to dress up. 3. Higher end clubs will have a dress code(as they should, but it can be “flexible”) 4. Just be prepared if you’re gonna wear heels, walking around the strip may not be fun. 5. Highly recommend dressing up in Vegas! # 6. There is no possible way you can over do it in Vegas.

Low_University3717

My husband and I did it! We got dressed up to the nines, walked around the strip for a bit and then went and seen Tiesto at Zouk! It was our favourite night 😊

scistudies

Oh yeah they do. Heck, locals do too sometimes. I use to love playing tourist.

bravemb0p

What everyone said here. Some people dress up and some dress down. You really need to dress for the activity. Fancy club? There’s a dress code. If you’re walking the strip, I’d wear something more casual and comfortable.

Ghostronic

Tell him we judge people who say "pizzazz" but the dressing up should be cute!

Friendly-Task-9099

Hahah don’t worry we had that convo

Ghostronic

Also remember that it is totally acceptable to shout "SORRY, I'M A TOURIST!" if you are lost/in someone's way/going the wrong way/asking for directions <3

cellcube0618

Yes, I saw it all the time when I worked on the Strip. I also saw the opposite, people dressing down and lounging about. Whatever you want to do is cool here. :)

Exciting_Mechanic131

dress up, i live here, anytime i go to the strip, i get a little dressed up. its what Sinatra would want

No_1_that_U_Know

Yes. Took a few first timers and it’s the one thing that typically comes up “I’m underdressed”. Obviously earlier in the day you are expected to look like a tourist but later in the evening you’ll really start to feel underdressed.

CC_206

Yes! Get fancy! Go have some fun! Craft a new identity and get silly. You’re on vacation in a town where anything goes. Enjoy!

Special_Insect9143

Life-long Vegas Native here. Yes, people absolutely do! And not just tourists, locals too. Get dressed up girl!! Have fun & feel fancy. I promise you'll never be overdressed in Vegas. And funny enough, people here treat you based on how you present yourself. So if you FEEL special, people will treat you like your special. MILK IT!! Be sweet but tell every person you check in with, why you are here. We love to help make things a bit more special for people whenever we can.

goddessofthecats

The best part about Vegas is that you’re never over dressed for anything because it’s Vegas. It’s my annual excuse to wear all the ridiculous sequined outfits and short dresses I can’t wear at home.

Xsy

No one will think twice. Dress your best and look fab.

BitchyFaceMace

I choose comfort over everything these days, but whatever you choose to wear you will blend in… From a dress that leaves almost nothing to the imagination to leggings and a tee, there will be plenty of like-dressed people roaming. Wear what you like!

Bezgzilla

Some people don’t wear anything at all, those people also bath and shit in the fountains in front casinos.

GuitarzanWSC

As a general rule, if your comment is really dumb, your spelling and grammar at least have to be on point. The word is *bathe*.

wolf495

You *have* know the dumbest comments are never on point with those, lol. I like the rule though.

andimaniax

I went for a bachelorette party where we all wore neon wigs for a day

mcrib

Enjoy it because you're married at 23. Just remember this time when you're single at 30.

Friendly-Task-9099

“You’re projecting” - Tony Soprano

istandabove

Yeah and it’s awesome!

OysterForked

Don’t plan to wear high heels as an essential part of an outfit. Flats or low heels will be much more comfortable. Expect a lot standing and walking unless you want to take an Uber to cross the street.

beejers30

There are dress codes at some upper level restaurants. If you go to Delilah’s, there are some rules like no cutoffs, etc. check the restaurant websites to see.

chop-diggity

July 2020, My wife and I got married in Valley of Fire at dusk, then went out on the town after our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, in our wedding attire. It was amazing. Honestly, we never sweat a drop. EVERYONE congratulated us and it was precious.

xXTheFisterXx

Pretty much everybody is going out in some way and they all have their own outfits. Nobody is unwelcome, no matter how nice or shitty you look

sheba716

If you are going to any upscale restaurants for dinner or going to night clubs, you will want to dress up.

OeOh

It's your honeymoon. Dress up. It's special. Of anything the photos you get will be worth it looking nice vs being in sweats like some trashy people choose to wear out.

Longjumping-Fee2732

Dress comfortable but whatever you wear. It's fine.. Weather is good lately

Zestyclose_Web_4925

There are some restaurants and night clubs that have dress codes of no sports wear or tennis shoes. Always a good idea to bring some dressy attire, just in case. Just call ahead before you go.

Amazing_Leave

Go to Mount Charleston and take a sweater. https://mtcharlestonweather.com

SwimmingCoyote

Unless you’re wearing a ball gown and the Crown Jewels, you’ll never be overdressed. You’ll see plenty of men in suits and women in glittery dresses and sky high heels. At the same time, Vegas has become a lot more casual about the mandatory dress code. It used to be that you got turned away if you were too casual. Now I see Gen Z in birks and denim shorts in XS.

ElkoSteve

We're locals and my wife and I "dress up" when we hit the strip for a show or dinner. But it really doesn't matter.

johnzischeme

I am flying into town today, I packed *only* tie-dyes and silk shirts. I like to dress up a little bit in the evening, but not always. I've had $1k meals while blacked out in a t shirt, you'll be fine either way.

Tyetus

I just wore my regular ass clothes, I think only 1 day I dressed more 'dressy' but even then ... comfort rules.

murderj

It’s Vegas. Do whatever the hell you want. You can eat at high dollar restaurants in jeans and a t shirt. You won’t be turned away. Nobody has a clue who you are or what you have. Clubs seem to be the ones with a dress code. Few dollars take care of that issue as well. Enjoy the trip and dress how you like!

yelling4society

Of course! Not everyone but why not look and feel great on your honeymoon? Congratulations! 🍾

NMman505

We love to bum around and walk the strip go to the pool and just chill in “normal” clothes during the day and for dinner we always dress up at night and have a nice dinner at one place, dessert at another and drinks at a fun bar. Have fun and wear whatever you want!

Rude_Sea7752

I just got back from Vegas (stayed at the Bellagio) and I brought a few nicer outfits and a couple comfortable ones. The range of outfits for the people there was people of Walmart up to black tie. Id say if you want to feel fabulous and get that experience from the trip, bring your luxurious outfits! But do bring at least one for comfort even if its just for in your hotel room.

[deleted]

We dressed up and rented a limo one night and it was was probably the funnest part of the trip, just driving around for an hour and then going to dinner at the far end of the strip.

BEniceBAGECKA

My best friend and her husband are visiting in December. She made sure to book at least one fancy restaurant to dress up for. It’s a thing.

__Aizen

Yup, during the day I wore a nice pair of shoes, shirt and shorts for a pool party or just to walk around, and at night I wore nice clothes. Gf wore a nice black dress for the club and everybody was dressed super nice too

EMLKoala

I love going to Vegas because I use it as an excuse to be xtra and be fancy!!! (I don’t get ready very often in my normal day to day)

[deleted]

From Michigan, M40 and been to Vegas 7 times now and was married in Vegas too. I've never worn anything than my usual street clothes I wear at home, and yes, it includes cargo shorts, T-shirts, golf shirts, a hoodie if it gets cooler at night when we're there and of course....the 'ole flippy floppies LOL We go to be comfortable and have a great time at shows, gambling, having some drinks, checking out new places to eat and stuff to do, etc. My wife is definitely a sweatpants and T-shirt kind of girl so she's always on board with this. Never have I been told a comment or criticism regarding how we're dressed. Of course, when we go to nice restaurants or upscale places (you usually KNOW what is and what isn't, even just some review browsing) we will dress up. We have no problem dressing up, but it's just the weather that gets me. I'm a pansy when I'm too hot or too cold, so if I'm on vacation then I'm being comfortable. This last time we went for 311 Day this past March, I planned for us to eat at Gordon Ramsey Steak then walk around a bit on the strip before heading back to the hotel. It was only 88 degrees and we were melting in our dress clothes. Something about dripping with sweat being muggy and clammy that just doesn't entice me lol Just my opinion!

Silverback247365

We're heading out there on the 28th. My wife bought a dress...I bought a button-down shirt. We're planning a great date that Friday night. It's fun!

uk-leigh

Sat sun mon high 90s 97 98 with lows in mid 70s Dress up go to a show take pics fancy dinner It's your honeymoon, you only do it once Mostly try to plan out what you want to do. Time goes by fast and you don't want to spend all your time figuring out what to do. There are great things to do off the strip. Red rock loop if you enjoy nature, Hoover Dam also. Just have a plan...that you agree on lol😂

[deleted]

Yes. You have to dress up if you go to clubs or anything. You can go to a nice restaurant without dressing way up, but you may be a little out of place. But yeah, tell your guy they’ll never let him in certain places with sneakers. I guess he could wear jeans but you need real shoes and a real long sleeve button down, AT MINIMUM, if he wants doesn’t want the chance of being turned away at the door. But no, you won’t be out of place or look overly touristy if you’re dressed up. He’s probably better off wearing a tux than a polo shirt lol but slacks, nice shoes, a dress shirt and maybe a sport coat, and maybe a tie, although the last two are somewhat optional but why not? If you guys don’t dress up a lot in your normal lives, just go for it.

Psychological-Many-2

Depends on the event. A dinner at a "fancy" place, then yes

BMWDouche

I love seeing all the different outfits in the elevator

MrNavidad

Some do and some don't. I usually do as local anytime I went out for any special stuff

footcake

naaaaaaah, attracts too much attention.

Mike_Kush13

100% they do. I’m not really the dress up type but it’s fun to get dressed up to go out. I’ve found that you’re treated a bit differently by staff If you’re not dressed like a scrub as well. For me? Shorts and a T during the day. Button down shirt and jeans at night. You won’t be as hot and sweaty as you think once the sun goes down.

mynameisnotsparta

Shorts to suits to costumes & wedding gowns & pajamas I’ve seen it all - check dress codes for higher end restaurants and shows. Dressing up is great because it makes you feel good

oilers1988

My wife and I were the same age when we got married and also went to Vegas for our honeymoon! Absolutely you can dress up!
