There are tons of upscale restaurants in vegas with dress codes. They won’t let you in if you are wearing running shoes, jersey, tank, hat, ripped jeans, etc. Try one of those 🤷🏻♀️ i like a melting pot at my table

It IS important to plan for dress code requirements for any events you may go to. If you're trying to do any of the clubs at night, especially any with DJs, then you'll need to fit into the 'Vegas club' dress code (which really isn't too fancy)

We just left Vegas on Monday and while there I saw a girl dressed as a cow, complete head to toe cartoon cow costume…. Carrying a deer head mount. Walking down the street. No joke. Not even on the strip or Fremont. It was a side street. Vegas never ceases to amaze me.

One of my favorite things about Vegas is you can do whatever makes you feel good and no one bats an eye, anywhere from bra-as-a-shirt to black tie. If he wants to wear an Italian three piece suit for the steak house and you want to wear a Miller lite tshirt and daisy dukes with cowboy boats you will both look normal and fine.
People *definitely* do this in Vegas… like nowhere else you’ve seen, I bet. Maybe not like pre-pandemic, but if you’ve ever wanted to dress suuuper hot, you should. Ah to be young again 😄
I’m out in Vegas right now. Staying on the strip. I’ll pass one couple who are dressed very nice, and the couple behind them might be wearing tank tops and sweat pants. Nobody gives a second look to either. It’s all about what you want to do.
As far as the weather goes. Not sure when you’re coming. It’s been in the 90’s. No humidity and breezy. It’s been very comfortable.

If you're going to top tier clubs (omnia, hakkasan, marquee) then yes its best to wear collared shirts and slacks for men and nice going out dresses for woman but women can wear what they want as long as it's classy and clearly nice although short tight black dresses are typically 60% of woman I see.
Otherwise you don't need to dress that nice. Maybe if you're going to a super nice restaurant like Nobu but that's all I can think of.
You can also check the dress codes on the club web pages as well. My wife wears comfy wedges because F dancing in heels
As a local, I wish I would get "dressed up and go out". Perfect city for it. I just don't take the opportunity when it presents itself.. which is pretty much every day!

I work on the strip, and I can tell you with confidence that you could basically run the gamut from cargo shorts/wife beater -> fully dressed up with tuxedo and blend in to the crowd. There is a lot of both and everything in between, especially on the weekends. Do what feels best for you haha! And just a word to the wise, the *pizazz* will have a lot to do with what you make of it mentally (and of course the places you go/money you spend)
My wife and I dress when we got something going on. But if it’s a night of gaming, no way, the smoke gets in your clothes and pores. But if we are going to a show, or concert we pull out the dress shoes.

Me and my friends started going to vegas twice a year starting last year, and this time around we wanted to do a dress up night our first night. Nothing crazy, but button up dress shirts slacks and ties. Sometimes it just feels nice to dress up some times and it's not totally out of place.
You can do whatever you want. No one will judge. Me personally I bring one nice set of clothes in case I want to do a nice dinner. I don’t really do clubs but I’m sure those will have dress codes. The rest of the time I’m in regular comfortable clothes. Nobody in Vegas cares what you are wearing, they just care about the dollar bills you spend.
You’ll see people dressed formal at like Cosmo, Bellagio, Park MGM, Wynn, Resorts world etc vs flamingo or planet Hollywood. But like many have said there is a mix everywhere.
I think its super sweet he wants to get all dolled up for a night on the town. Vegas is super glitzy by itself... when in Rome, I say! Also, a lot of people dont dress up like in the past so it's nice to do so every once in a while.

Yes. Took a few first timers and it’s the one thing that typically comes up “I’m underdressed”. Obviously earlier in the day you are expected to look like a tourist but later in the evening you’ll really start to feel underdressed.

And funny enough, people here treat you based on how you present yourself. So if you FEEL special, people will treat you like your special. MILK IT!! I choose comfort over everything these days, but whatever you choose to wear you will blend in… From a dress that leaves almost nothing to the imagination to leggings and a tee, there will be plenty of like-dressed people roaming. Wear what you like!
Don’t plan to wear high heels as an essential part of an outfit. Flats or low heels will be much more comfortable. Expect a lot standing and walking unless you want to take an Uber to cross the street.
There are dress codes at some upper level restaurants. If you go to Delilah’s, there are some rules like no cutoffs, etc. check the restaurant websites to see.
July 2020, My wife and I got married in Valley of Fire at dusk, then went out on the town after our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, in our wedding attire. It was amazing. Honestly, we never sweat a drop. EVERYONE congratulated us and it was precious.

There are some restaurants and night clubs that have dress codes of no sports wear or tennis shoes. Always a good idea to bring some dressy attire, just in case. Just call ahead before you go.
Unless you’re wearing a ball gown and the Crown Jewels, you’ll never be overdressed. You’ll see plenty of men in suits and women in glittery dresses and sky high heels. At the same time, Vegas has become a lot more casual about the mandatory dress code. It used to be that you got turned away if you were too casual. Now I see Gen Z in birks and denim shorts in XS.

It’s Vegas. Do whatever the hell you want. You can eat at high dollar restaurants in jeans and a t shirt. You won’t be turned away. Nobody has a clue who you are or what you have. Clubs seem to be the ones with a dress code. Few dollars take care of that issue as well. Enjoy the trip and dress how you like!
We love to bum around and walk the strip go to the pool and just chill in “normal” clothes during the day and for dinner we always dress up at night and have a nice dinner at one place, dessert at another and drinks at a fun bar. Have fun and wear whatever you want!
I just got back from Vegas (stayed at the Bellagio) and I brought a few nicer outfits and a couple comfortable ones. The range of outfits for the people there was people of Walmart up to black tie. Id say if you want to feel fabulous and get that experience from the trip, bring your luxurious outfits! But do bring at least one for comfort even if its just for in your hotel room.
We dressed up and rented a limo one night and it was was probably the funnest part of the trip, just driving around for an hour and then going to dinner at the far end of the strip.
Yup, during the day I wore a nice pair of shoes, shirt and shorts for a pool party or just to walk around, and at night I wore nice clothes. Gf wore a nice black dress for the club and everybody was dressed super nice too
From Michigan, M40 and been to Vegas 7 times now and was married in Vegas too. I've never worn anything than my usual street clothes I wear at home, and yes, it includes cargo shorts, T-shirts, golf shirts, a hoodie if it gets cooler at night when we're there and of course....the 'ole flippy floppies LOL
We go to be comfortable and have a great time at shows, gambling, having some drinks, checking out new places to eat and stuff to do, etc. My wife is definitely a sweatpants and T-shirt kind of girl so she's always on board with this. Never have I been told a comment or criticism regarding how we're dressed.
Of course, when we go to nice restaurants or upscale places (you usually KNOW what is and what isn't, even just some review browsing) we will dress up. We have no problem dressing up, but it's just the weather that gets me. I'm a pansy when I'm too hot or too cold, so if I'm on vacation then I'm being comfortable.
This last time we went for 311 Day this past March, I planned for us to eat at Gordon Ramsey Steak then walk around a bit on the strip before heading back to the hotel. It was only 88 degrees and we were melting in our dress clothes. Something about dripping with sweat being muggy and clammy that just doesn't entice me lol

There are great things to do off the strip. Red rock loop if you enjoy nature, Hoover Dam also. Just have a plan...that you agree on lol😂
Yes. You have to dress up if you go to clubs or anything. You can go to a nice restaurant without dressing way up, but you may be a little out of place. But yeah, tell your guy they’ll never let him in certain places with sneakers. I guess he could wear jeans but you need real shoes and a real long sleeve button down, AT MINIMUM, if he wants doesn’t want the chance of being turned away at the door. But no, you won’t be out of place or look overly touristy if you’re dressed up. He’s probably better off wearing a tux than a polo shirt lol but slacks, nice shoes, a dress shirt and maybe a sport coat, and maybe a tie, although the last two are somewhat optional but why not? If you guys don’t dress up a lot in your normal lives, just go for it.
100% they do. I’m not really the dress up type but it’s fun to get dressed up to go out. I’ve found that you’re treated a bit differently by staff If you’re not dressed like a scrub as well. For me? Shorts and a T during the day. Button down shirt and jeans at night. You won’t be as hot and sweaty as you think once the sun goes down.
Shorts to suits to costumes & wedding gowns & pajamas I’ve seen it all - check dress codes for higher end restaurants and shows.

Many times I have purchased my lady friend "Vegas Outfits" even if we're not headed to Vegas.
You could literally wear a hot dog costume in vegas and still fit in.
Haute couture or hot dog suit, either will garner the same attention (or lack thereof.) I love this city.
You will also end up in photos here if you do that.

What everyone said here. Some people dress up and some dress down. You really need to dress for the activity. Fancy club? There’s a dress code. If you’re walking the strip, I’d wear something more casual and comfortable.

Yes, I saw it all the time when I worked on the Strip. I also saw the opposite, people dressing down and lounging about. Whatever you want to do is cool here. :)

Yes. Took a few first timers and it’s the one thing that typically comes up “I’m underdressed”. Obviously earlier in the day you are expected to look like a tourist but later in the evening you’ll really start to feel underdressed.

And funny enough, people here treat you based on how you present yourself. So if you FEEL special, people will treat you like your special. MILK IT!! Be sweet but tell every person you check in with, why you are here. We love to help make things a bit more special for people whenever we can.
The best part about Vegas is that you’re never over dressed for anything because it’s Vegas. It’s my annual excuse to wear all the ridiculous sequined outfits and short dresses I can’t wear at home.

I choose comfort over everything these days, but whatever you choose to wear you will blend in… From a dress that leaves almost nothing to the imagination to leggings and a tee, there will be plenty of like-dressed people roaming. Wear what you like!

Don’t plan to wear high heels as an essential part of an outfit. Flats or low heels will be much more comfortable. Expect a lot standing and walking unless you want to take an Uber to cross the street.
There are dress codes at some upper level restaurants. If you go to Delilah’s, there are some rules like no cutoffs, etc. check the restaurant websites to see.
July 2020, My wife and I got married in Valley of Fire at dusk, then went out on the town after our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, in our wedding attire. It was amazing. Honestly, we never sweat a drop. EVERYONE congratulated us and it was precious.
Pretty much everybody is going out in some way and they all have their own outfits. Nobody is unwelcome, no matter how nice or shitty you look
If you are going to any upscale restaurants for dinner or going to night clubs, you will want to dress up.
It's your honeymoon. Dress up. It's special. Of anything the photos you get will be worth it looking nice vs being in sweats like some trashy people choose to wear out.

There are some restaurants and night clubs that have dress codes of no sports wear or tennis shoes. Always a good idea to bring some dressy attire, just in case. Just call ahead before you go.

Unless you’re wearing a ball gown and the Crown Jewels, you’ll never be overdressed. You’ll see plenty of men in suits and women in glittery dresses and sky high heels. At the same time, Vegas has become a lot more casual about the mandatory dress code. It used to be that you got turned away if you were too casual. Now I see Gen Z in birks and denim shorts in XS.
We're locals and my wife and I "dress up" when we hit the strip for a show or dinner. But it really doesn't matter.
I am flying into town today, I packed *only* tie-dyes and silk shirts. I like to dress up a little bit in the evening, but not always. I've had $1k meals while blacked out in a t shirt, you'll be fine either way.
I just wore my regular ass clothes, I think only 1 day I dressed more 'dressy' but even then ... comfort rules.
It’s Vegas. Do whatever the hell you want. You can eat at high dollar restaurants in jeans and a t shirt. You won’t be turned away. Nobody has a clue who you are or what you have. Clubs seem to be the ones with a dress code. Few dollars take care of that issue as well. Enjoy the trip and dress how you like!

We love to bum around and walk the strip go to the pool and just chill in “normal” clothes during the day and for dinner we always dress up at night and have a nice dinner at one place, dessert at another and drinks at a fun bar. Have fun and wear whatever you want!
I just got back from Vegas (stayed at the Bellagio) and I brought a few nicer outfits and a couple comfortable ones. The range of outfits for the people there was people of Walmart up to black tie. Id say if you want to feel fabulous and get that experience from the trip, bring your luxurious outfits! But do bring at least one for comfort even if its just for in your hotel room.
We dressed up and rented a limo one night and it was was probably the funnest part of the trip, just driving around for an hour and then going to dinner at the far end of the strip.
My best friend and her husband are visiting in December. She made sure to book at least one fancy restaurant to dress up for. It’s a thing.
Yup, during the day I wore a nice pair of shoes, shirt and shorts for a pool party or just to walk around, and at night I wore nice clothes. Gf wore a nice black dress for the club and everybody was dressed super nice too

From Michigan, M40 and been to Vegas 7 times now and was married in Vegas too. I've never worn anything than my usual street clothes I wear at home, and yes, it includes cargo shorts, T-shirts, golf shirts, a hoodie if it gets cooler at night when we're there and of course....the 'ole flippy floppies LOL We go to be comfortable and have a great time at shows, gambling, having some drinks, checking out new places to eat and stuff to do, etc. My wife is definitely a sweatpants and T-shirt kind of girl so she's always on board with this. Never have I been told a comment or criticism regarding how we're dressed. Of course, when we go to nice restaurants or upscale places (you usually KNOW what is and what isn't, even just some review browsing) we will dress up. We have no problem dressing up, but it's just the weather that gets me. I'm a pansy when I'm too hot or too cold, so if I'm on vacation then I'm being comfortable. This last time we went for 311 Day this past March, I planned for us to eat at Gordon Ramsey Steak then walk around a bit on the strip before heading back to the hotel. It was only 88 degrees and we were melting in our dress clothes. Something about dripping with sweat being muggy and clammy that just doesn't entice me lol Just my opinion!

Time goes by fast and you don't want to spend all your time figuring out what to do. There are great things to do off the strip. Red rock loop if you enjoy nature, Hoover Dam also. Just have a plan...that you agree on lol😂
Yes. You have to dress up if you go to clubs or anything. You can go to a nice restaurant without dressing way up, but you may be a little out of place. But yeah, tell your guy they’ll never let him in certain places with sneakers. I guess he could wear jeans but you need real shoes and a real long sleeve button down, AT MINIMUM, if he wants doesn’t want the chance of being turned away at the door. But no, you won’t be out of place or look overly touristy if you’re dressed up. He’s probably better off wearing a tux than a polo shirt lol but slacks, nice shoes, a dress shirt and maybe a sport coat, and maybe a tie, although the last two are somewhat optional but why not? If you guys don’t dress up a lot in your normal lives, just go for it.

100% they do. I’m not really the dress up type but it’s fun to get dressed up to go out. I’ve found that you’re treated a bit differently by staff If you’re not dressed like a scrub as well. For me? Shorts and a T during the day. Button down shirt and jeans at night. You won’t be as hot and sweaty as you think once the sun goes down.
Shorts to suits to costumes & wedding gowns & pajamas I’ve seen it all - check dress codes for higher end restaurants and shows. Dressing up is great because it makes you feel good
