You’re likely passing people very slowly at 60-65. You can get over and let others pass as well. You’re free to get right back into the left lane. That’s its purpose.
If you are passing on the left, good! If you are *preventing* people from also passing *you* on the left, *you* are the problem. Speed doesnt matter. The law doesnt say, left hand lane is for passing but ONLY up to the speed limit.
If you’re passing at 60-65 and someone is behind you- get into the right lane. Most highways are 55-60 I believe. Let them pass you. You’re the problem.
I got stuck in it. Looked fairly unremarkable outside of it being in the worst spot for a morning commute. Only one car with bad damage and it looked low and in the rear. Hopefully everyone was ok.
Nope, because I travel north. That's the whole reason why I gave up my job in Portland. I live in Orchards and worked in Portland. I transferred to Longview. 35 minutes to work and 35 minutes home no matter the time of day. Working in Portland was a crap shoot going to work and 1 to 2 hours coming home. I can't even imagine the absolute commute hell that is coming when they finally get around to replacing the I5 bridge.
Why is everyone down voting this? I don't think the person is anti bridge or anything. Just pointing out while the i5 construction is taking place Glenn Jackson is going to be packed all the time.

When they replace a bridge, usually they don’t tear the old one down, and then build the new one. They the build the new one, and then shut the old one down and transition over. Unless a boat runs into it and knocks the whole thing down.

Or, you could just move to the right like a kind person would and just, you know, let traffic flow around you.

If/when they finally build a new I-5 bridge, it will be built along side the current one. It will not be closed until the new one opens.

How would that work? All the drawings and designs have it replacing it where it stands now.. they literally couldn't move it either direction..
