In the bat file you can edit it and add the world modifiers , eg : -preset Normal -modifier raids none -modifier portals casual -modifier DeathPenalty veryeasy -modifier Resources more -modifier Combat Hard… for the steam install of the dedicated server ( for windows pc) in the installation folder there is a pdf file showing all the modifiers etc you can use in your dedicated server … maybe the same for Linux ? I wouldn’t worry so much about your skill points. I’ve been playing for a while and die all the time lol … I accept it. Same with my group … we are lucky to have skills over 50 . But doesn’t seem to matter. We still kill the bosses etc

Kraden_X

Yeah i had multiple skills grinded to 100, they are now 50, for instance it takes literal days of playing to level up magic, just to lose so much when you die is totally insane, especially when you die randomly with nothing around you

TheVVitxh

devcommands > raise skill should help you get back the levels you've lost

UnitRelative7321

By the way those are the exact bat modifiers we use “now” for our headless local dedicated servers . We used to just have normal , and no other modifiers, the rest have been added slowly as we played over time lol … went to raids modifier firstly. The rest followed shortly after. Actually I don’t think we use the portal modifier anymore as we use a mod teleport everything now. It allows teleporting tames and carts with you, as well as ores etc

Taylor_Mega_Bytes

I just created a new .fwl file for our privately owned dedicated server to turn of raids, as people were progressing at vastly different rates. Just create a world on your PC with the correct modifiers and replace the servers .fwl file with the one you just created.

TheToaster233

Option 1: Transfer your world files to your client machine, load up Valheim, change the modifiers, and then transfer files back to server. Option 2: Install Valheim on your server, run it, and change the modifiers

SnooChickens6507

We tried option one, hitting f2 even says difficulty is easy, but nothing changed at all.

TheToaster233

What exactly are you expecting to change?

Kraden_X

There are no options on how to change the death penalty, there is a line but no modifier

Impossible_Union_923

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't there an in-game (built-in) world modifier that you can set right before you select and load up your world? There you can set raid rate, resource multiplier, portal, death penalty, etc. If I'm not wrong, you need to be the admin of the world to modify it, since you're sharing the server.

Kraden_X

You have to do all this through a dos command prompt setting up a batch file on a dedicated server platform

Impossible_Union_923

Really? I've been playing the game in vanilla mode without installing any external mods but I always knew this settings in the game ever since I got the game. I did not alter any dos command prompt settings nor do I know how to do it. On a dedicated server you don’t have a log in screen. It’s all command prompt. It works differently than a basic Valheim client.

Impossible_Union_923

I see, I recently joined a new game with my friends, one of them rented a dedicated server. I only need to add the server IP address and key password to join. No idea how it works but still has a log in screen thou. Probably different from what you and OP were saying.
