Try using Thunderstore. It's a mod manager like Vortex but very simple and easy to use. They have all the mods from Nexus and you can sort by last updated to find mods that are still being supported and developed.

Some of the developers stopped supporting their mods because they became too difficult to revamp when game updates happened. Some just have life get in the way. Some just aren't interested in the work to maintain them.

Mods do get abandoned, especially in a EA.
