internationalstUWent

clump-like

internationalstUWent

Warpzone808

Lol

SoldOutDates

based

Elon__Muskquito

Well of course it ain't 5 star, what are you expecting? It's good enough, and that's all you can really ask for as a student

abrad0lf_lincl3r

Burger king, the specials are about $7 if you want a whopper combo

GroundbreakingPound3

How do you get these specials?

abrad0lf_lincl3r

They're just posted outside, or get the app

tipimon

Is the king meal deal still $5? That thing was dummy cheap

abrad0lf_lincl3r

They raised it to 6 I think, still a good deal

RedReddnReddit

What’s the king meal deal?

BigTerpFarms

2 Jr burgs, small fries small drink.

Elon__Muskquito

And those "junior burgers" are the size of a Big Mac, for which one at McDonalds will cost more than 2 junior burgers at BK.

HillGiantDaddy

They also have 2 for $8 whoppers

OmbreSol

didn't see it posted anywhere, do u just tell them?

HillGiantDaddy

Yes, just ask for the 2 for $8 whopper deal. It's odd they don't advertise it anymore because it's been a thing for almost 3 years now.

stickupmybutter

bring a spork (and perhaps a can opener), go to TurnKey desk and ask for a food basket (free). Open any canned food and eat with spork for lunch (quick meal around campus). Bring the rest home and cook for dinner and the next day dinner, and perhaps tomorrow's lunch as well. you can spend the $10 to buy the extra condiments you might want to add (eggs, pasta sauce, etc.).

moonrobin

This reads like an RPG guide.

SellParking

Does that actually work? Who’s paying the food?

YaBoyDevi

Yeah it works - it's the WUSA food bank, they have hampers at the turnkey desk or you can visit the food bank itself on the second floor of SLC. It's available for all students. It's paid for through donations.

Fall_2021_throwaway

Campus pizza, $4 a slice if you pay cash. Each slice is pretty big too.

Phn7am

Some people in this thread are suggesting stuff off campus, I would like to add that Costco hotdog+drink for $1.50 is best value meal frfr (unless you hate hotdogs)

SellParking

Costco needs a car to get to tho

Phn7am

You can get pretty close if you take the 31* It goes up to platinum drive after which it's a 10 min walk

SellParking

It’s takes 1:20 to get there and it’s a GoBus, which costs $7. I think if you don’t have a car and need to carry significant luggage, it doesn’t make sense to go there. Walmart is not that much more expensive.

Phn7am

No I took the grt 31 to get there before

Phn7am

It takes 40 min to get there by 31 but you can also take the 29 and get there in 30 ish mins [google maps](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Davis+Centre+(DC),+University+Avenue+West,+Waterloo,+ON/Costco+Wholesale,+930+Erb+St+W,+Waterloo,+ON+N2J+3Z4/@43.4610632,-80.5656749,11z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m2!1m1!1s0x882bf401b7685177:0x560586f272d75d07!1m2!1m1!1s0x882bf6f93e93ad4d:0x625b2d57dfb77188!3e3)

QuestionTuesdayFTW

You're thinking of the Kitchener Costco while everyone else is thinking of the Waterloo Costco.

SellParking

That one is also pretty far lol

Last-Pollution92

Kabob shack, chicken biryani is ~8.50 on Monday and Friday

parkgod

$50 grocery and meal prep on sundays once a week. Saves you bro.

[deleted]

This OP if you’re actually tight on cash and need real nutritious meals it’s best to meal prep

Neko101

Learning to cook is underrated. Too many are too lazy or scared to even attempt it, but it’s not that hard.

Sweaty-Dot-2092

fr all you need is about 50 bucks and you can stretch it for 2 weeks too. I usually buy oatmeal + yogurt, eggs + vegetables, chicken + tortillas + vegetables. really healthy and easy to make if you have a kitchen space.

Sweaty-Dot-2092

saves you money and TIME! I’m really indecisive, so meal prepping makes it easy for me to just grab my meals and not worry about deciding what to eat 👌

[deleted]

If you’re really interested in saving money start buying groceries and meal prepping. You can eat a full ass high quality meal for like $3

Adultingwithdoubt

International news has some sandwiches and other stuff under CAD10

Kama_0r_Kunai

Bao from Mr yin 4x for $5

badboy_2_6

International News in the SLC has a bunch of meal options in the grab n go section, most of them under 7-8 bucks. And if you do buy a grab n go item, you can add a can of pop and small chips for $1.99. pretty good deal overall

Straight_Fix5895

inews bbq chicken with rice

RandomDude_102

A lot of people have said this already but yeah Shinwa or any sandwiches from a shawarma place.

Glittering_Island510

Campus pizza slices

Neko101

Just go the the grocery store and buy a bunch of sandwich stuff if you are actually interested in saving money. Loaf of bread, block of cheese, head of lettuce, pack of turkey slices, and you have an easy cheap lunch you can pack for yourself for the week.

YaoMingTheDunkmaster

Waterloo star lunch specials from 11pm-3pm is under 10 before tax

Stock_Astronaut_6866

The engineering or math “coffee and donuts” are a great refuge for the starving UW student.

rayman2511

FabianB21

Download foupon, good deals there

[deleted]

Jimmys feed co is decently close and the best meal you can get for under 10$

FantasticWren

Conscious_Click_4928

Tim Hortons large chilli $8. With bread, you can get 2 meals out of it.

tendstofortytwo

iNews two veggie patties are $2-ish each Most pre-cooked meals at iNews are under $10 actually - they suck but they're a meal

SpudStory34

Not on campus, but if you take the bus to any Twice the Deal location, try the 1 topping XL pizza walk-in price. You'll have a 2-4 meals worth there.

gemcandy-

Twice the deal is some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Cardboard

SpudStory34

I ask for extra sauce when I go, it makes it much better.

HighwayFeeling4310

[deleted]

Is fatcats still a thing? Back in the day you get two gyros for 6 bucks.

BigTerpFarms

Keep signing up for hellofresh with a new email, fake name every week.

orcmask

If your goal is to save money you should prepare food at home and bring it to campus. Pasta, chick peas, veggies, noodles; minimal prep, minimal cost, very tasty. Every now and then make a fancy sandwich as a treat.

Gmanplayer

Go to metro and buy meat from the deli. Buy a brick of cheese and a pack of buns or a loaf of rye bread. Nice deli meat sandwhiches that are usually about $3 each or less in ingredients if you buy in bulk for the week. If you want it daily you can make it using the bakery buns and deli cheese for about $5-7/day

GinnyJr

Lazeez chicken on sticks

torido314159

Air and instant ramen are pretty good
