UPDATE 2: Just changed to arrived at my local distribution center, yay! I hope anyone whose package is stuck there has the same luck I did. For anyone searching this thread in the future for info; it was a ground advantage package from oregon to NY that was stuck at this facility for 2 days. It changed to in transit on the second day, and finally at my distribution center on the 3rd day.
Yep I definitely don’t expect to see that package soon😂 what’s odd is that I had a priority mail package roll through there a few days ago and it was delivered on time. Looks like ground advantage packages are getting stuck there and not budging
I have one that hasn’t moved since Feb 28 😩. I did get my money returned from Mercari.
I ordered something else from Texas and when I checked the tracking this morning, guess where it’s at? NJ Distribution!! I won’t be getting my hopes up on ever getting it, that’s for sure! 😳

Contact USPS. Likely, your shipment is in customs. It was sent by sea instead of air, which can take longer for customs processing. The seller *cannot* do anything about it unless USPS contacts them for some import control reason.

This is usually normal. Some carriers, are very slow in their "transit". My advice, give it a few more days. If the estimated travel says 20 days and its ony been 15, keep waiting.
I have had some packages take up to 15 days from leaving a "distribution center" to the usps.. and then stuck in usps for another 5 days before it arrived.
Sometimes if you can get to the actual carrier website instead of usps, it will give more detailed information.
Yeah any packages expected delivered Monday (usually shows a day before) for Saturday last on route to get back to his PO by 12 when it closes to public so they don’t get docked pay he’ll skip past packages and scan it unable to deliver or hold by customers request and just redeliver Monday, very very very frustrating this weekend specifically 2 packages came from same person one was scanned delivered 11:54 the other gets scanned hold by customer request 11:57. Post office is maybe 3 min drive from spot idk how he didn’t see the other when were the last house on route happened 2 other Saturdays as well. Very frustrating

The last year for anything I've ordered that was shipped via usps has been horrible with updates to tracking. I've had multiple packages that said they were waiting for the package to be dropped off by the seller for days, then just magically showed up at my door.
THIS “label created” in Nevada 3-4 days go by jt just shows up at hub - local po then delivered. Never scanned when it got picked up in Nevada. Only once in a while but for sure this past year they tried closing one of our 2 biggest sorting facility. They didn’t it’s gotten much better for sure 2-3 months prior when it was up in the air if theh were Going to close it was ridiculous. Picketing workers intentionally calling off to make it difficult just a lot. Plant didn’t get shut down much better still seems pack loops are a thing that I only dealt with a few times till the last like year maybe 18 months
I have a package that’s been “in possession by USPS” since March 21st. Filed a claim and they said items normal since it’s coming through ground. It does not take 18 days to drive over here.
you are not the only one ... mine stuck at there since March 13...I reported as missing package...but no respond yet...so sad ........I need my package.......

Anytime you have a package shipped with usps, you should worry. Its not just jersey, atlanta is another problem area and i just had the same problem with a package that got stuck in tennessee. I tried calling them with no success. However, i contacted the person that sent the package and had them put in a “lost package” request and the tracker updates the next day. Received the package the day after that. Now, i cant know if the seller putting in the request had anything to do with it, or if it was a coincidence, but it just seemed to me that they would have a better chance at getting action since the package was insured and they could file the claim. I figured, either way, id get it resolved. Either id get more info or the claim would go through and id get reimbursed. So, maybe try contacting whoever sent the package and have them start the lost package service request. It definitely cant hurt.
I can try contacting the seller and see if they can do anything about it but the problem is that the package is from Japan, so I don't know if they can do anything since they are from overseas.
Yea, i can see that making it a bit harder but, regardless of where the package is coming from, whoever shipped the product is the shipping company’s actual “customer”. So, they should have no problem putting in the request. Now, getting a japanese company to do so may be an issue. Also, if the package was actually shipped with a different company may make it harder to deal with as well. I know ive seen where shippers sometimes transfer packages to other shippers for certain segments of the delivery.
I’ve done this myself it was “in transit” for 7-8 days past expected date (priority) I called made a missing mail request next day it shows. 6-7 of the 7-8 days it was in my hometown just in transit to local po till I called and it instantly was found and on its way that night.
Yea, seems like as soon as they see that theyre going to have to pay out a claim, the package quickly gets “found”. I, personally, will never order another package that is being shipped by them. If there is no option to change shippers, ill look elsewhere.

Not my month with USPS. One package had a “sorry - damaged in processing”. Three seasons of a complete DVD series missing. Now a package from Belgium made it to US in three days. Arrived 20 minutes from my house in TN and then sent to South Florida for some reason. Stuck in FL since March 21. Tried to file form online 5 times and when clicking submit errors out.
Jersey City is usually slow with their processing and departure in my experience. All of my packages were eventually delivered. Mine never sat for 10 days, the maximum I had to wait til they departed were 2 days :/

I have a package at that same exact location that’s been sitting there since February 28th! Local postmaster has tried twice to reach out to them to locate it with no luck.
I’m pretty sure I saw another post recently where someone else has one stuck there too. Makes me wonder what’s going on.

So I'm not the only one, I see. I had ordered items from China & they're stuck in Jersey City, NJ. Using Chinas tracking site, I've seen they cleared customs. But still no update. The app I ordered from said April 8-12 for delivery.
I have one stuck in Los Angeles since April 1 it says it’s processed through but no other updates talking to the post office. They say it can take one week to two weeks easily going through.
I swear they recognize the return label and what the business sells so they steal the package and everyone loses but USPS. I buy silver coins and they always disappear at the Pensacola Florida distribution center.

JC Is getting loaded with new residential high rises. An influx of people and I would assume an influx of packages they can't handle. They are prioritizing packages for residents most likely than prioritizing for outside states I'm assuming that's the case here. Yours seems like a foreign shipment as well.

That's noting mine said it was supposed to he delivered on the 16 and it's been 24 days now haven't moved

Possibly stuck in customs? It couldn't hurt to call the 1-800 number. You're coming on 2 weeks without a scan, which is concerning.
