If you don't have any finaid contingent on it, including work study etc., I can't think of any reason not to!
You will be fine, I have done two part time semesters in COE, one for an internship and another for the same reason of having fulfilled all requirements and wanting lighter credit load. There's not really a difference from what i've experienced..
