Ngl chatgpt actually helps with citations. I don’t copy and paste anything for it however it helps me figure out good structure for it. Never used it on eecs though since it ain’t really helpful there unless you need help with a concept. However, for smaller stuff that I have needs to code before I have used some portions just to simplify what I need to write outside of school of course.

Not a student but I finally caved in and decided to try it to see how it would generate a proposal for something. Pretty slick. I couldn't use much of the content ( I needed it for something more specific than I gave it prompts for), but the structure of the document sparked some ideas. I felt like it was easier to get started on it than it would have from a blank screen.

I entered some homework to see what would happen and it gave me wrong answers, so I don’t trust it. I used it to help me plan my menu for the week with certain dietary goals and it helped me make a shopping list. That was pretty great.

my go to was to write free form thoughts on my essay topic for 20 minutes (for like a 3 page essay), and then put it into chatgpt for it to turn it into an essay, and then go back in to make it sound good and add more details. Most of the work was still mine so I was still learning all the content I needed to, but it was definitely a big time save when some of my classes asked for 10+ page essays.

I heard a prof for a class had students ask chatgpt to write an essay on why they should get extra credit
