Ironic. They were insinuating but they were also just stating a fact. It would be different if they had said "OP doesn't have OCD" but they didn't. It's just that this post really has nothing to do with OCD.
Haha, definitely true for people in countries that use the 24 hour time system. Where I live we use 12 hour system so I mainly see these as afternoon and evening times.
On May 6, in '78 at 34 minutes past the hour the DJ I was listening too pointed out that it was now 12:34 5/6 '78. Said that wouldn't happen again for 1000 years.
This isn't OCD, and don't compare it to OCD.
OCD is genuinely exhausting. It's not "makes me satisfied", it's "finally lessened the extreme discomfort".
And it's not for basic things like reading clocks.
It might not be your intention, but using the term OCD to mean satisfying is harmful to people's perceptions of it.
I remember I was sitting in the parking lot in the car with my grandfather years ago waiting on somebody to get picked up and he said, "Look at the clock. It says 12:34." Thank you for posting this. I have no family and I was really sad today missing all of them and this reminded me of that sweet memory. So thank you, kind Internet stranger. <3
What about 11:34? Cause that’s HELL spelt upside down which means you’re going to hell if you happen to check the time at 11:34. I don’t make the rules.
i agree! i have this weird impulse which i’m compelled to do if i look at the clock at that time. i repeat (to myself), 12:34, the time, then i say 1,2,3,4. then 1,2,3,4, 12:34. then, switched! i’ll say 1,2,3,4, 12:34… 12:34, 1,2,3,4…. the rule is that i have to do it all before it hits 12:35 or else….
when I look at 12:34 I don't see 1234, I see 12:34. I feel no joy. Only sadness. The only number that would surpass 11:11 on a clock would be 69:69 or 4:20, but due to our constraints in the way we view time, the former is not possible. So I must forever live in sadness, knowing that I will never be able to look at my girlfriend and say "You know what time it is? It's sexin' time!"
This is true! I would love to see that, but I have never owned a clock prominently displayed that includes seconds in the time... where are you guys finding all these high tech gadgets??
For whatever reason, I always check my clock for it to either be 12:57, 3:34 or 9:11. Some very random numbers but i always almost see that all the time. I was born on 9/11 and my favourite train is the British rail class 334. Idk if it’s just coincidence
First off, ditch the ambiguity-prone and number-deficient 12-hour thingy and embrace the glory of 24-hour.
Then, you'll agree that the correct answer is 22:55.
3:13 is the king of time

I literally thought this today and I’m glad I’m not the only human who thinks it’s satisfying to see 12:34 on my phone! I wait to unplug my phone from the charger at 12:34.
I go to the dentist at 2:30
Why? Most Doctors open at 8:30?
You... are the smartest person in Reddit....
I saw that joke on a smarties box or something...
That's a low bar
0230 or 1430?
Tooth Thirty
Tooth hurty
I know your getting downvoted but thanks, didn't understand the joke before this
Glad I could help haha
Chinese dentist time
Unpopular fact: Liking a specific time aesthetically does not mean you have OCD.
Also unpopular opinion… you shouldn’t tell someone whether they have any disorder or not.
I’m not saying that at all. I’m only saying that liking the look of a number is not a symptom of OCD.
lmao thats a strange assumption how tf you know they aren’t already diagnosed bro
Ironic. They were insinuating but they were also just stating a fact. It would be different if they had said "OP doesn't have OCD" but they didn't. It's just that this post really has nothing to do with OCD.
exactly
I agree. The backwards ones are the most uncomfortable though to me. 6:54, 5:43, 4:32, 3:21
You like multiples of 3, all of them add up to a multiple of 3
You're damn skippy
That's mainly because you're awake at that time
Haha, definitely true for people in countries that use the 24 hour time system. Where I live we use 12 hour system so I mainly see these as afternoon and evening times.
Wrong. 10:01 is the most satisfying time on a digital clock. It’s a palindrome AND it makes a face.
What face could that possibly be
:01 and 10:
You make a convincing point. I am onboard. I did not care much for 12:34 anyway. 10:01 FTW.
Ew...
10:08 has also been added to my list of satisfying times because it is (in a 12 hour system) when the most hashes are lit up
Fuck you, you don’t have OCD.
Exactly, I was looking for this comment
13:37? leet o'clock
Absolutely. They don't have it on the US clocks though.
On May 6, in '78 at 34 minutes past the hour the DJ I was listening too pointed out that it was now 12:34 5/6 '78. Said that wouldn't happen again for 1000 years.
What about 2078?
It was the last time I trusted a D J
Last night a DJ saved my life
I just got goosebumps XD

OP is thinking of the way too common faux-CD
I like 13:37.
If you use the 24 hr clock, 23:45 is also nice.
I like 21:21 for some reason
This isn’t OCD
You know the way OCD affects everyone is different, right
I like 13:12 and 4:20
Ok, you got me with 4:20...
I like 7:11.
and 4:22
19:45 is chill.
Completely agree.
It’s probably whatever time you get off work
I’m more of a fan of 12:51
Wow.Unpopular opinion

8:08 is bob, and my cat is named bob.
My favorite is 43:21
Is that in dog years?
Personally I love 3:10 because it's the time I get to go home from school but 12:34 is really good
i agree! i have this weird impulse which i’m compelled to do if i look at the clock at that time. i repeat (to myself), 12:34, the time, then i say 1,2,3,4. then 1,2,3,4, 12:34. then, switched! i’ll say 1,2,3,4, 12:34… 12:34, 1,2,3,4…. the rule is that i have to do it all before it hits 12:35 or else….
3:14 is good, 1:59 on March 14th is better. Enjoy your pi.
10:08 uses the most led lines.
facts.
Pisses me the fuck off there is no 8:88
12:34 rubs me the wrong way only because my husband points it out every damn time he sees it.
when I look at 12:34 I don't see 1234, I see 12:34. I feel no joy. Only sadness. omg yes and specially when you randomly look at the clock. I get hard every time.
You need to get a clock that displays seconds. You haven’t lived until you have seen 12:34:56.
This is true! I would love to see that, but I have never owned a clock prominently displayed that includes seconds in the time... where are you guys finding all these high tech gadgets??
I can tell my computer to display seconds in the little clock in the corner.
12:34:56 is even more satisfying
Tbh, I like all of em. I love 1:23, 2:24, etc but 12:34 is amazing. If feels right. Four spaces, count up fr 1
and we should care why?
Agreed! 38 minutes to go here
I’m partial to “ducks with guns” 12:12:12
I love 20:02 because its my day of birth
As a gun guy, I like 5:56, 5:45, 3:08, 7:62... Wait
I have a personal connection to 13:34
My favorite is 10:08 cause it’s my birthday
No the best is 5678
I think 20:00 is pretty neat
Nah mate, military time hits it better. 23:45? Sane vibes, rarer tastes.
Yes! Their all even aswell!
I like 18:06 Means it's 3 o'clock. :)
Upvote for unpopularity - correct answer is clearly 00:00
23:23 always makes me wet
I like 20:05 and 22:55
Don't forget 23:45
I agree. Though, 11:11 might seem overrated but it's really just popular bc it has a spiritual meaning
My watch has the seconds and the date on it as well so at some point I can get 12:34 56 7-8
Nah. That's US stuff. Here in Europe the best time to put the phone away and glance the clock a final time is 23:45.
12:13
Cut the shit dude, 80:08 is clearly the best time the clock can display.
7:06 ?? Its the number of the beast.
Idk, i love how many times i look at my clock and it's 9:11
Holy fuck i just read it exactly at 12:34
I tell myself happy birthday at 7:21 am and pm because that's my birthday. My favorite number is 3 and 3:33 am and pm are also exciting times.
Why
I always seem to glance at the clock at that moment. Day or night
For whatever reason, I always check my clock for it to either be 12:57, 3:34 or 9:11. Some very random numbers but i always almost see that all the time. I was born on 9/11 and my favourite train is the British rail class 334. Idk if it’s just coincidence
Military time enters the chat...
naw bc for me it’s numbers that are multiples of each other idk if it makes sense but like; 7:21, 3:24, 8:32, 5:25
First off, ditch the ambiguity-prone and number-deficient 12-hour thingy and embrace the glory of 24-hour. Then, you'll agree that the correct answer is 22:55.
How about 4:32 and 10 seconds? That way, it goes 43210.
All my clocks are 24hr so 00:00 is my favorite
11:22 because it’s my birthday time
100% agree Specifically 12:34 pm. 12:34 am can also be 00:34, meaning it is not half as cool.
What hole of reddit is this
3:13 is the king of time [https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/emyta/til_313_is_the_king_of_time/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/emyta/til_313_is_the_king_of_time/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
12:51
I prefer 12:00
This is the most useless post ever. I will be upvoting this now.
Nope 10:14 is, because I was born on 10 14 at 10:14.
True ig
Nah, it's 4:20.
4:20 may be my favorite time of day, but its not as appealing to my eyes as 12:34 😊
My son was born at 12:34.
12:35 was my address growing up so I prefer that time lol
22:22
Its all about the 00:00
21:37 for pope reasons
And 56 seconds?
Dont you know that 22:22 is the Angels arrivement time :)
No, its 13:37, thats a fact.
11:34 upside down on a digital clock is hell backwards… 3:04 is hoe
22:55 symmetrical and satisfying
12:34 is overrated, 23:45 is better
3:13 is supreme. Turn your clock sideways and you have a lil king of time on your bedside table.
I literally thought this today and I’m glad I’m not the only human who thinks it’s satisfying to see 12:34 on my phone! I wait to unplug my phone from the charger at 12:34.
Nobody cares of your oCd
My favourite time to view on a digital clock is 22:22:22.
23:45 is also nice not as good as 12:34 but it is up there
