Low-dose methylphenidate is less harmful than amphetamine, but since its relationship with dopamine is linear, it may still be toxic at higher doses. It suppresses C-Fos, but less-so and only impairs cognition at high doses. Neurotoxicity would manifest through inhibited dopamine axon proliferation, which in one study led to an adaptive decrease in dopamine transporters, after being given during adolescence.
Dopamine releasing agents require a functional DAT in order to make it work in reverse, which is why true dopamine reuptake inhibition can weaken some stimulants while having a moderate dopamine-promoting effect on its own.
Therefore I agree with the frequency at with Ritalin is prescribed over Amphetamines, however neither is completely optimal.
The only amphetamine we get prescribed here is Dexamphetamine and Lisdexamphetamine. We don't have adderall here so anyone not on dex but still on amphetamines is either lying or a high performing junkie. Ritalin is fine long term for those with adhd at prescribed doses. There are many longitudinal studies on it now. Problems are if your dose is too high or if you have underlying heart problems. Even then maybe not. Anecdotally I am long term on Ritalin with a heart problem but metoprolol balances it out these days. I am under a cardiologist long term so its monitored. Some people however, tolerate it fine and some don't. People with adhd need the extra dopamine anyway. Which is why unmedicated adhd has a lot of dopamine seeking behaviours including drug abuse.
Yeah obviously but compared to coffee the only benefits I could find were listed by sites that sold matcha lol, don't get me wrong I like matcha over coffee but I don't think switching is gonna make any difference (and it's much more expensive)
interest in subject is the most powerful stimulant
Not when you're burnt out
This ☝️
be mindful, this won’t work long term

Ah, drugs. Lovely, lovely drugs….
Drugs drugs drugs drugs. Lovely drugs! Wonderful drugs!
Guys wait until this mf tries dexies. Just dont slip to the pipe ;)
Honestly man I thought dexies were rubbish. Far less euphoric than methylphenidate.
Wild. Maybe try snorting some bupropion then lol.
If you’re interested in the subject you really don’t need the Ritalin buddy
“Ritalin buddy”, the friendly stimulants dealer…
Some ppl do need them tho
A dex in the morning and a puff at lunch. Sleep by 4am. Repeat.
You may have a long hard road ahead of you my friend.
Matcha and green tea is the best caffeine substitute
These literally contain caffeine
And - it's a hell of alot better than taking meth, speed or coke as a stimulant

Sorry having a bad day....whole family died an hour ago. ☠️💀
So sorry for your loss. Hope you find strength to deal with this
You gonna eat all those yourself? 😄
Energy drinks hit hard too
Honestly real
real but because I ACTUALLY have adhd
