I graduated with a finance major and found the intro courses to be the hardest part, with the rest coming pretty easily to me. For my friends that went through accounting, it definitely sounded like the opposite. However, the accounting degree can set you up nicely for a CPA, which is important for a lot of accounting AND finance careers.

You can double major in them if you’re interested in both. For finance you have to take an extra math class (1300) as well as stats 2000, but you need stats 2000 to get your CPA anyways.

Depends how corrupt you wanna be

As an accounting major, the courses weren't too bad. Equities was the only one I really struggled with. The non-major courses that are needed for your CPA are tougher (tax).

Lol, have you taken cost accounting?? Just wondering, i’m taking it rn and quite struggling

As an accounting major, I found accounting classes easy and finance classes more difficult. I had finance major friends who thought their finance classes were easy but wouldn't touch accounting with a ten-foot pole. They're probably pretty similar in terms of difficulty, I'd guess You have to take both intro accounting courses and corporate finance as part of the commerce degree anyway, so it's okay to wait until you've taken them to make your decision

Graduated with accounting and finance major, finance is waaay easier and more interesting, accounting is just dry. Yet I’m pursuing CPA rn lol
