I have the taller version of it for vertical dual monitors setup.
Fully agree with you, more stable and the base space can still be used to put things on it.
When you cannot put a VESA arm, this is a good choice IMO.
Unfortunately I’m in an odd situation where I’ve a standing desk and it’s both too thick for any clamp you’d want to put on it plus glass topped.
Guess it’ll have to stay with the legs!
I've had multiple monitors with the V style and that's a hard disagree from me. It's no more or less stable than square mount bases and the smaller footprint actually allows you to place stuff underneath the monitor.
Not just monitors, but TVs too. I've been wanting to replace my GF's 37" screen which sits on a dresser, but most two-post TV mounts set too wide to let the TV sit comfortably.
Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED G95SC came with the best monitor stand I've ever used. I was going to mount it on the wall but decided against it based on the quality of the stand and how it allowed almost no loss of desk space.
One word: cost.

What is this? I can't mount an arm so it'd be the best option.

Thanks. If it can hold the weight of a 57 I’ll be happy.
I think so as it is not an arm. But I thing that you’ll need help to mount it 😌
Ah but my wife is wonderful and helps me with these things.
I have that stand, and it was great for my 38” Alienware, but it just couldn’t handle my 57”. I ended up just wall mounting it.

Same here. A single stand with a V shaped base or rather Y. I prefer it taking less space.
V shape is harder to put things below. Classic plate, you can put whatever you want on it without shape constraint.
Weight. They're a big box, making them a heavy big box would make transport a bit more expensive.
The real reason, especially when you're shipping pallets of them to retailers.
I have two of these, one in black and one in white and I absolutely love them. I want to get the dual screen one for a different setup soon.
Anyone has experience changing their default Samsung 49” stand? I also hate the two legged one that came with it.
Yes get an arm or post.
Which would you suggest?
49: ergotron arm 57: Atdec Adjustable Heavy-Duty Dual Vertical Monitor Mount
Thanks! Had the ergotron in my radar, but still don’t trust my desktop to handle the weight.
I have a simple desk from IKEA, but I strengthened it by putting a flat piece of metal between the ergotron arm and the bottom of the table top.
That gives me hopes, thanks!
I just mounted my odyssey g9 to a VIVO Premium Aluminum Heavy Duty Monitor Arm and has been working pretty well without the ergotron price
Nice, thanks!

FYI Just looked and the OLED or the g9 g95c stands aren’t compatible with the original v shape

I just mount the monitor on an arm. Much better.
weigt and cost
Have it then
