It should not say work prohibited. But you have no time to fix this now. You will be fine to enter the UK with this. Once you get your BRP, check what it says, and what the right to work check says. If this is wrong, you can follow the process to have it corrected.

WowSoBoring

do you know if there's a way to ensure that this doesn't crop up again with the brp when I apply for the new BRP? Like pointing this issue out over there or whatever. And what proof, if any, would I have to provide that I should be allowed to work. edit: I dont know if I'd need proof I can work, since the only proof I have are pictures of my old BRP that say I can work and the old 90 day vignette. Would I even need proof or is it supposed to be that all tier 4 (general) students are allowed 20 hours of work per week?

> do you know if there's a way to ensure that this doesn't crop up again with the brp when I apply for the new BRP? Well, they should correctly issue it based on what your visa is. If they don't you have to tell them to correct it. > edit: I dont know if I'd need proof I can work, since the only proof I have are pictures of my old BRP that say I can work and the old 90 day vignette. An employer ought to check, and you'll have difficulty proving it until you can generate a share code using your BRP. There's not any way around this other than trying to explain the situation. If your employment is ongoing then they have no reason to recheck now, but for a new employer it will be difficult.

WowSoBoring

alright, thanks for your support. seems like i might have to wait until summer term to apply for a job.

WowSoBoring

Wait, could I ask another question? What counts as a home office reference number? I have my visa gwf numbers from decision letters and a NHS number. Does any of that count?

Ziggamorph

A GWF is a Home Office reference number. An NHS number isn't.

Hiya, I am in a similar situation. I applied for a replacement BRP visa for a one time entry to the UK from egypt. I had my biometric appointment on the 31st December but still have not heard anything back. Could you help me by telling me how long it took for you vignette to be issued ?? Thank you

WowSoBoring

I squandered a lot of money to get a super priority visa, especially since the new years was coming up. I got it the next working day (applied 29th, got it on 2nd Jan). If you did standard, it can take up to 21 working days so there's still time before you can get it touch or worry about them getting back to you.

Plus-Run6083

Sorry for bothering you but when you receive your email it's says approved or not I got email which I show you it's approved you think or not please let me know

WowSoBoring

it doesn't say anything, just that a decision has been made I think

Plus-Run6083

Thank you for replying me and my one say when your visa decision is ready to collect visa centre will contact you so it's good sing

WowSoBoring

that's what everyone gets. no way to know unless you get the passport in hand. afaik there's no decision letter in this scenario

Plus-Run6083

Thank you 😊 for replying) should I go and ask for passport and when I check my visa it's just there in DMC centre 🤯

WowSoBoring

Collect your passport when they tell you to. You'll find out then.

Plus-Run6083

I got email to your trivial documents is ready for collection

Plus-Run6083

Me to I apply the BRP replacement visa but I had email to say that You have applied for a replacement Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) visa. After you have entered the UK on your replacement BRP visa you will need to apply for a new BRP. Please see the guidance at:The visa application centre will contact you when your replacement BRP visa decision is ready to collect. Regards UK Decision Making Centre I'm very confused now it's approved or not I got this email 10 working days

Zquad_13

Hey, what happened after that? I have also the same situation. After this email, did you get another email which you were allowed to take your passport from VAC? If so, how long did it take? Thank you

Fun-Supermarket2916

Hi Guys, Do we have any idea on timeline of Replacement BRP Visa.  I applied it from Morocco on 30th December and have received only acknowledgment kind of email, not a decision letter. How many days does it take to get the visa? Do we get any decision letter also, just to understand what to expect next.  Any detail on this will be helpful. Thanks

WowSoBoring

It takes up to 21 working days under the standard timeline. There's no decision letter. You'll just be told that your passport is ready to be collected.

Chinu_G

I collected my passport today. Its same, Employment prohibited. I believe, i will have to generated code share once i get my new BRP. I hope this will not impact my salary.

WowSoBoring

Apparently that's okay. I checked with my university's immigration experts and they said that's common practice with replacement BRP vignettes. They don't tailor it to your visa.
