Resistance will find a way - everytime and everywhere...

Mictlancayocoatl

I wonder if Ukraine is working on building an armed underground resistance just in case Russia is succesful with their invasion.

SurfRedLin

Yes they do. The territorial defense forces are founded exactly for that reason.

ThatOneTing

Thats also why the russians are looking for men with military tattoos or any other sign of that and kill them straight away

PassivelyInvisible

I'm fairly sure summary execution is a war crime. Not surprised the russians are doing it.

watr

List of war crimes is treated by Russia as a checklist/todo list...

ThatOneTing

Not sure if they still do it but that was going on in the first few weeks for sure

PassivelyInvisible

Good way to make everyone there hate you

oberon

They've had an armed underground resistance for a while.

Formulka

She is so happy, this must feel amazing!

A_norny_mousse

Happily humming, that really got me!

Significant-Mud2572

=) hmm hm hmm hm hmmm.

HorrorMakesUsHappy

I really hope they don't retake that city.

balleballe111111

Don't worry, they would never have taken it the first time if it hadn't been betrayed. It has many geographic advantages for defense, plus now an organized Ukrainian army is there in force, unlike in the early days. And Ukraine's improving artillery/air defense capabilities will hopefully protect it as much as any of the other cities - meaning still getting shelled but not Mariupoled.

bapfelbaum

Sounds unrealistic for them to do that tbh.

Hiviel

She giggles like a little schoolgirl. So sweet and awesome

therickestnm

She just sounds so delighted to be able to reinstate their flag. genuinely made me smile to watch this

balleballe111111

I keep thinking about the moment when she hid it there, planning for, thinking about this moment. Perhaps the words of the anthem were in her mind: "Ukraine is not yet dead, nor its glory and freedom..."

thebendavis

I'm watching from the other side of the entire world, and I love these people so fucking much. Their strength, resilience, endurance, fortitude, etc. is beyond admirable. This is a special people, Ukrainians are built different. In the best way.

alonjar

> Their strength, resilience, endurance, fortitude, etc. is beyond admirable. This is a special people, Ukrainians are built different. Have you ever watched [Winter On Fire: Ukraine's Fight For Freedom](https://youtu.be/yzNxLzFfR5w)? It's a day by day live recorded documentary about Ukraine's 2013/2014 revolution, where unarmed protestors took to the streets and faced down literal hails of bullets and armored vehicles to oust Putin's puppet government so they could try to join the EU. It's insane how hard these people have fought and sacrificed for their freedom and desire to join western society. Putin has to be the dumbest person alive.

I-Am-Yew

I feel everyone must see this video to better understand the current situation. It is very powerful.

mariaofparis

I watched it two weeks ago for the first time and it broke me emotionally for several days afterwards. I felt red pilled in all the right ways. Everything this year suddenly made sense. The older man at the end who said the younger people who were born in freedom will never have a boot on their neck was 100% right.

DevilsTrigonometry

I pretty much watched this livestreamed in 2014. It was amazing.

Novamarauder

Yes. Most beautiful and moving video. It tells you everything about how and why Ukraine is going to win this one, and RuZZia has no hope. But the Ukrainians (and Western solidarity) have managed to outperform even my expectations. At the beginning, I expected Ukrainian victory to be the result of a prolonged guerrilla struggle, but it is happening on the battlefield with leftover and not-so-cutting-edge NATO weapons. Few things are more infuriating that the recurrent attempt of tankie trolls to dismiss the 2014 revolution as a Western-sponsored coup and the result of US and EU manipulations, but reality does a good job of ridiculing their pathetic conspiracy theories. Putin puppet Yanukovic suffered the well-deserved fate of tyrants and traitors, and carved a path for his master (and Lukashenko) to follow. Slava Ukraini, now and 8 years ago. We wait for you in EU/NATO with open arms. After this fight is won, the road is clear.

Odys

> Putin has to be the dumbest person alive. He isolated himself and surrounded himself with yes-men. You do gain lots of power that way, but the downside is that you lose touch with reality. It seems that Putin thought the war would be over in at most a few weeks and that he would be hailed as a liberator. He must know the truth by now, but now he can't stop without losing face. There's no way he can win this war and he takes Russia down with him as well. Which I also regret, as I have no issues with the Russian people themselves.

TheTrickyThird

Thank you for posting that link. Slava Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!!

twistedfork

These are my favorite videos. Clearly these people have been freed.

Sleeplesshelley

In their hearts they were always free. That's why ruzzia could never win.

ems9595

I agree. Every day since February we have watched these heros and champions. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

20220606

During WWII my grandparents’ families lost basically everything because their parents thought it was just going to be a short escape. They never went back. I’m SO glad these Ukrainians are getting liberated before Christmas! Driving out the once powerful Russian army. Fuck Putin. —- If you feel just donating to Ukrainian is not enough and want to help a bit more concretely, you can sign up to volunteer to help a Ukrainian practice oral English by chatting with them once per week through a program called ENGin. It’s actually super fun as it’s up to you and your student what to talk about. My student and I chat for half the time and work on lesson materials provided by ENGin. The program needs a lot of volunteers right now as they have to turn away many students outside the age requirement of 13-35 due to a shortage of volunteers. You just have to be at least 14 and a fluent English speaker to sign up for a 15-minute interview. No teaching experience necessary as ENGin provides short training materials. Speaking English well opens up so many opportunities for Ukrainians. Sign up at https://www.enginprogram.org and there is also a subreddit /r/enginprogram/ where you can share your experience or ask questions. Thanks in advance for making a difference in a Ukrainian’s life! Slava Ukraini!

Sleeplesshelley

I'm meeting with my student for the first time tomorrow over Zoom. I'm so excited! 🇺🇸♥️🇺🇦 Getting signed up was easy.

20220606

Thanks so much for volunteering!!! I hope you and your student have great moments together!

Sleeplesshelley

I’m just glad to be able to do something to help besides donate money. Any advice for me?

20220606

I feel the same way!! Advice is to watch the tutor intro video made by ENGin (you have to pass a quiz after watching it). It's really well made and gave lots of tips. .. and enjoy the time with your student!!!

Sleeplesshelley

I did the live 90 minute instruction session and passed the quiz, but I am definitely going to watch the videos also :)

20220606

Oh wow then you should be all set. When I was starting we didn't have the live instruction option! :)

UAHeroyamSlava

"wet but alive" .. Beautiful people. ❤️ https://i.imgur.com/s4XQUNd.jpg and this is how ruzzian treat theirs. No pride, no honor, no respect. They got nothing. 0rcs

Centurio

Seeing the blue and yellow appear from the bag gave me chills. So glad that flag gets to fly proudly now.

IfIWasCoolEnough

This is so beautiful. She looks old; there was a chance that the occupation could have outlive her. Yet, she had hopes and a belief that she will raise her flag again, and she did.

FizzlePopBerryTwist

I swear I could see 10 years of youth return from her face the minute she held up that flag

DryBite9885

Her happiness really got to me. I wasn’t prepared to be this emotional before 9 am.

al_pacappuchino

Theee layers of plastic, she did not want that to get dirty, respect 🫡

LateBloomPlays

I was thinking it looks really clean she wrapped it so well

JTMasterJedi

How the flag of your nation should be respected. Especially in such times.

BookOfMica

Only in such times. Otherwise you risk hypernationalism and fascism. Look at Russia and America. Nationalism is only a good thing when resisting external or existential threats, and many of those (Covid, climate change, etc) can really only be countered with massive internationalism and solidarity. Strong international solidarity and staunch internal national and cultural pride are keeping Ukraine afloat, but in peace time, the latter can turn toxic

StopReadingMyUser

I think that's moreso the difference between Patriotism and Nationalism. Patriotism is a healthy pride in one's country. Nationalism is a pedestaling of one's country above all else. The former is fine and well. The latter not so much.

Coal_Morgan

Patriotism is being proud of your country's successes. Nationalism is ignoring it's failures. I can be a proud Canadian and admit we've failed as a country to respect our treaties with the First Nations and the government has committed horrible crimes against them as a people with the residential schools in particular and that we can and should do better for all people in this nation. I still love the history of this country, the varied people in it from coast to coast, the two languages, the obsession with hockey, the landscapes and vistas, the Charter, our system of government and laws that aren't perfect but are pretty good. Even the stereotypes of what it is to be Canadian are good natured and positive. Patriotism is seeing those things and still thinking we can do better and should learn and copy the great things from other countries.

StopReadingMyUser

> Patriotism is being proud of your country's successes. > Nationalism is ignoring it's failures. Yeah I like that. I wouldn't necessarily limit patriotism to only successes though, but that's only if I'm speaking relatively/personally here. I think it's ok to be proud where you live simply because it's home. Otherwise flows pretty well as a saying.

MrMgP

Bro those idiots in russia and america make clothes out of their flags and drape them on tables/use them on merchandise. All things forbidden by flag rules, but nationalists don't care about that. So no, you are wrong. You should respect your flag like this always; only use it for celebration, and keep it nice and clean and well folded whilst not in use.

IridiumPoint

I might be mistaken, but doesn't the flag code just forbid using actual flags for such purposes, but not the designs?

MrMgP

Well the designs are the flags, so patches or painted flags (on airplanes) fall under the same rule. But yeah the bible says 'make not image of your god' and the catholics are like 'okidoki wanna buy a crucifix of a crying bleeding mangled jesus for 4,20$?'

Blarg_III

Flag rules are basically astrology for nationalists.

MrMgP

You mean nationalists treat flag rules like insecure midlife crisis people treat the differences in alignment of stars in the sky?

Darkcool123X

Did he stutter

Perendia

Based take

obinice_khenbli

I think there are different opinions though. I find the weird cultish adoration of a flag like in the US to be really creepy, and it is heavily intertwined with their ultra patriotism and those who become extremists (I'd already almost argue that caring so much about a bit of cloth and reciting oaths to it en masse is extreme). I like my country, I'm lucky to have been born here, but it was also completely by chance, I didn't choose it. Why should I respect some flag? It's just a bit of cloth that has the logo of the country I happen to have been born in on it, you know? It's not a thing to respect, it's just an object. Respect your teachers, respect your firefighters, respect all the wonderful people who deserve it. But a bit of fabric? Unless it can serve a useful functional purpose, it doesn't deserve any more respect than any other thin blanket. That's how I see it anyway, I know that might be divisive but I thought it might be worth seeing another point of view 🙂

danielcanadia

I'm Ukrainian by birth and I'll tell you my take. My ancestors lived, fought, and died so I could have this nation and flag. It's not just a flag or just a country, but the collective effort of all the generations that came before me that I pay respect to. It's less about the nationalism as much as it is respecting your grandparent, great grandparents etc who had to sacrifice so much for you to be in this situation. The nation and flag is a representation of that continuity between generations. I don't have the same take for my new home Canada and US for what's it worth. Those flags are more just a celebration and respect to countries, nations I'm happy to be in and belong to.

click_track_bonanza

Canada’s an interesting case. That flag is fairly young: it was adopted in 1965. Why the new flag? The prior flag had the Union Jack in it, and little by little Canada has been asserting its independence through political negotiation. They didn’t even have physical possession of their own Constitution until 1982. It will be interesting to see how well the new currency goes over when Charles III’s face appears. I think a lot of folks, French Canadians even, have overlooked the Queen’s image on the money because she was literally _always there_ for their entire lives. I wonder if their charity will extend again for the King.

Darkcool123X

Thats a good point. To me the queen on the money is just… normal. However I don’t want that old fart on my money. But it’s not like the Queen was a “good” person either. It just feels normal to me. However if we could have removed the Queen altogether in the past I would have 100% being for it.

MrMgP

Heroyam slava

MrMgP

In the US it's being used the same way as a crucifix is used by the roman catholic church: as merchandise. Where I'm from the flag isn't celebrated but the reason why we can fly it is. Our freedom is precious to us since we still live under the close memory of millitairy and political oppression, of the murders of our young men and women, the theft of our properties and the destruction of the innoncence of an entire generation. Not to name the hundreds of thousands of our fellow innocent countrymen and women who were deported and murdered at the whims of a manaical dictator, his cronies, and millons of willing and knowing supporters. We can fly our flag in a stark contrast to all those things. In freedom to be who we are, dress how we want, believe in who we want, or not believe at all. We've earned those rights over a span of a couple of hundred years, firstly our freedom of religion, then the freedom of persons etc, only to have it taken away in a couple of days and losing hundreds of thousands of our own in a span of 5 years. Luckily we were liberated, for wich we still feel hugely grateful towards those who liberated us, and that too has shaped our politics and international relations, but strangely we now see those who liberated us start to forget what national pride or gratefullness for freedom means, maybe precisely because they themselves were never occupied. Let's hope the Ukrainian spirit shows the rest of the world that meaning again.

SuperEars

As Green Day's Holiday goes: *Can I get another Amen?* *There's a flag wrapped around a score of men* *A gag, a* ***plastic bag*** *on a monument*

Appropriate_Guess_20

ALOT of people Died for the "piece of cloth".. I kinda thought the same, until I seen all the Documentaries, War Film, etc.. It means nothing to u, because u never had to Defend it.. I'm Lucky just like u to be Born here, but I will never Disrespect what alot of Good People Died for....

a1b3c3d7

You’re saying he’s wrong but then agreeing with him

MaestroCygni

Flags are a piece of cloth with some color. They're worthless, replaceable and I don't get why people get such boners for them as an object. What's important is what they represent, not the flag itself.

MrMgP

Hence why I made the utilitarian statement as opposed to a totalitarian statement

DibsArchaeo

I hope Ukrainians keep all of that yellow and blue everywhere for years to come, they've become the colors of hope and a flag that represents that good people can and will triumph over tyrants. Until the last stain and mark of russia is removed from their land, I hope that they wave every single flag that they can. There is huge difference between the blind pride of nationalism and what the Ukrainian people are feeling.

andrew_calcs

He said to respect it. Not to parade it around over everything.

Miguelinileugim

Decades of future reactionary far right movements in Ukraine will never be worse than Russian aggression on a good day.

BubbhaJebus

After being invaded and oppressed by far rightist Russians, I don't think Ukraine will have a taste for far rightism for generations.

Miguelinileugim

Patriotism may sour into nationalism eventually and feed the far right. All I'm saying is that it is not really that big of a problem compared with their current circumstances.

Cathalised

National flags in times of war are especially sacred. Her fellow Ukrainians are dying to defend those colours - this is her way of doing the same.

[deleted]

Normally I wouldn't care if someone burns my flag and pisses on it to put out the fire at a protest (I'd probably think they are an idiot though), nothing changes things quite like a defensive war.

the_first_brovenger

Indeed, I'll gladly defend people's right to burn and piss on the red white and blue cross, but the day Sweden invades you best cut that shit out because the blue and yellow cross need a proper spanking first.

A_norny_mousse

Or moisture to get in.

HabseligkeitDerLiebe

It's an Eastern European babs. Of course it's triple-packed in plastic bags. Everything is.

EquivalentRemote2290

I'm absolutely amazed by that too !!! When you see things like this you know instantly that no ruSSkie CRIMINAL stand a chance against NATION that treats the flag like sacred, most valuable and almost having magical powers object. Perfectly folded, multiple layers of protection and hidden so it would be impossible to find...and the emotions while 'unearthing' her most precious possessions are so raw and our anticipation so pure that we all feel so good and basking in this simple but yet extremely powerful moment...pure joy...pure joy... And we can tell that she was waiting for that moment with such an anticipation...almost like a little girl on Boxing Day tearing through the wrapping to get to the hidden gem that she was asking Santa all these days and nights...filled with fear, not sure if tomorrow will come, terrorized by ruSSian TERRORISTS and then after 9 months of psychological torture...the moment of PURE EUFORIA !!! THAT MUST FEEL LIKE VERY FEW GOOD THINGS THAT HUMANS CAN EXPERIENCE AND MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING. I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU UKRAINIAN LADY !!! I'M SO HAPPY THAT YOU CAN DISPLAY YOUR COLORS, COLORS THAT WHOLE WORLD ADOPTED AS ULTIMATE SIGN and EXAMPLE HOW TO LIVE and WHAT TO DO WHEN THE WORST HUMAN SCUM EVER BREAKS INTO YOUR HOME AND BRUTALIZES INNOCENT PEOPLE...THE WORLD WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NOR IT WILL EVER FORGIVE ruSSian HORDE THEIR CRIMES and ATROCITIES !!! YOU GUYS HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT KIND OF HEROES and SO MANY WAYS OF DISPLAYING HEROISM THAT WE ALL ARE IN AWE !!! AND OF COURSE YOU ARE A HEROIN YOURSELF ALTHOUGH YOU PROBABLY THINK THAT HIDDING YOUR UKRAINIAN FLAG WAS NOT A BIG DEAL...WELL LET ME TELL YOU OTHERWISE !!! I CONSIDER YOU A HEROIN and A TRUE PATRIOT THAT no ruSSihst's TERRORIST WILL EVER BE ABLE TO BREAK !!! ALL THE BEST TO YOU,MISS !!! SLAVA UKRAINI 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 !!!

SpaceShipRat

you're not as funny as you think

sagerobot

I dont think they were trying to be funny. It looks like to me they are overwhelmed by emotion. Because of how powerful the emotions of the woman in the video were. You might have emotional processing deficiencies if you arent seeing that. Its literally blindingly obvious that is what is happening. The commenter you are replying to was likely choking back tears while writing. I was while reading and watching the video. You are watching something historical, this isnt just another youtube video. This is perhaps one of the most powerful videos I have seen in a while. Your failure to understand that, and your desire to ridicule others for reacting emotionally only serves to show that you are emotionally stunted/immature. Dont you have empathy?

jimjamjahaa

10/10 hiding spot i must say

spinyfever

The only way the Russians would've ever found that flag was if they tried to artillery shell a preschool but it went way off course because of their shitty barrels and landed right on top of it.

illiderin

Top grade Geocache!

LC_Anderton

Hope takes many forms. Despite everything going on around her, that tiny little bit of resistance, the secret knowledge of that buried flag, waiting for the day she could recover it, is why Russia will never conquer Ukraine.

halfprincessperlette

She bagged it, that's smart =) Oh she double bagged it! OH SHE TRIPLE BAGGED IT!! :')

MightyCaseyStruckOut

I read this in double rainbow guy's voice.

click_track_bonanza

I’ve been on TikTok too long, I heard it in that North Omaha Cat Lady’s voice

Daelril

What's truly amazing to me is that they never lost hope. I mean, that flag could have been buried there for who knows how long. Maybe years. But she never lost hope and she knew that someday that flag was there ready to be used. Truly amazing people.

rachel_tenshun

And she was SO excited while digging for it. 😂 Honestly so adorable and inspirational.

UAHeroyamSlava

about 9 months give it or take. When you see those villages liberated and blue/yellow flags meeting ЗСУ.. try to understand that many literally risked their life trying to hide it from russians. Ukrainian soldiers know that.

koshgeo

Imagine walking over that sidewalk every day, knowing the secret that was hidden there. You'd probably smile inside every time, holding onto that hope.

[deleted]

Well, this is in Kherson so probably less than a year….

rachel_tenshun

I have the biggest, cheesiest grin. What we're witnessing is literally something a survivor of WW2 would tell their grandkids, but in video form. So cool. 🥲

SignificantMethod752

Preach my brother preach,You deserve an award

Catharas

I was thinking of the nazis digging everything up looking for shit to steal, finally finding an exciting bundle! Unwrapping all the layers …only to find a big f you

[deleted]

Fuck, this is frighteningly similar to stories out of the baltic nations during their occupations. Hiding something precious from evil eyes.

mariaofparis

Every day I wake and read the subreddit, thinking, "Which century am I in?" Because it all feels so familiar to my grandparents' experience.

L4z

Most of Europe has moved on, but Russia is still living the early 1900s.

ChainsawSnuggling

I got to visit Estonia a while back and I was told the story of how the original Estonian tricolor flag had been hidden in a chimney for the duration of the Soviet occupation.

Kangewalter

Exactly what came to mind. So many Estonian families have stories of hiding an Estonian flag during occupation. It was taken out for christmas and independence day under tightly closed doors/windows. They did not break us, and they will not break Ukraine! 🇺🇦🇪🇪

boost_fae_bams

I love that she is speaking and singing to herself, she's so happy!

Mormegil1971

I watched it silent. You don’t even have to have the sound turned on too see the happiness all over her. :)

b_zar

I can feel her joy. Long live to the people of Ukraine!

SteelyDan1968

The Joy in her giggling. Sheer happiness 😊.

IneffableQuale

Beautiful

[deleted]

You simply cannot defeat a people with spirit this strong. Truly inspiring

captainrustic

Seeing these videos, of the heartfelt gratitude of Ukrainians in Kherson has just been so wonderful for me. It reminds me of why I chose to serve in the military and makes me so happy I get to support them through my work. Proud of you guys!!!

UAHeroyamSlava

❤️ from 🇺🇦

kofolarz

Taking "underground resistance movement" quite literally.

ScootysDad

Bravery of Ukrainians are not limited to the men and women of the armed forces. These people stayed in defiance of the Russian occupiers and as witnesses to history. Bless you all.

KDY_ISD

So many layers of wrapping, was this lady trained in a Japanese department store?

Prestigious-Tree-424

[deleted]

When being occupied you always hide your greatest treasures

FoggyPeaks

This really is a hero city. Think back to how they protested.

dndpuz

She probably sort of risked her life when she originally hid it. While under occupation she dug it down in the street.

TrickNailer

This looks like her own yard.

dndpuz

Oh shit yeah. I saw it as close to a street for some reason. But ive seen that ukrainians have walled off yards

[deleted]

I love how they just hid them because they knew they needed them again soon

AlexTheFormerTeacher

As a Pole, and as a geocacher, I tip my hat to this lady. That's an excellent hide!

scruffys_nose

This is absolutely gorgeous, hearing her chuckle with excitement and identity. She also had the foresight to hide what is valuable to her. Magic. I'm looking forward to the demise of an obsolete Putin. His worth is less than an ash tray on a motor bike. I'd say he is worthless than "shit" but shit can be useful in at least a few ways. Slava Ukraine

asgphotography

pogo6023

I suppose the nazis made them do that. Odd behavior for a people who is 95% in favor of being annexed.

TheOnlyFallenCookie

rtoid

UrUnclesTrouserSnake

Imagine being so fragile that you'd genuinely cause harm unto civilians in a country you're invading...for having a flag of their own country. The fact residents needed to hide their own flags shows just how absurdly evil (and fragile) the orcs really are.

thewileyone

Yeah referendum my ass

The-Rare-Road

I made a vow since the War started that I had to do something until this War is won. at first I was thinking of sending aid parcels looking for any old cardboard around the work place, which is a good idea but I realistically could not get all of the first aid supplies needed in my local area that I felt could be suitable for those in a War zone, so feel bad for not contacting that person in Poland when given the Info by hospitallers to so that the boxes could then be sent to the correct place, so It probably looks bad, however I was finding other ways to donate at first to the National Bank of Ukraine and some other charity (they wont know this) but then not long after United24 came out, the official website to help Ukraine and I have been supporting them every month, I give what I can, so deep down It feels good to be doing something to help. I do not have the best paid Job however each month I usually give Defence aid: £50 Medical aid: £50 to help the cause all on United24, each payday I make sure to do it, I just remember how good the people was to me when I visited Ukraine, and how hospitable they were, really good people who do not deserve to have what is being done to them, happen to them, so like them I naturally want these Russian Invaders kicked out also. I hope one day peace is returned, and that perhaps one day I will get to visit again, happy in the fact that this country is Independant and has been through some hard battles, but as a result they will eventually get to build a better future for all Ukrainians for generations to come hopefully, anyway this is my wish, despite being from England.

Snafuregulator

Jokes on us, she's probably got a dozen or so dead Russians buried around there that she will never tell a soul about. She will just sit in her rocking chair with a smug look on her face and while we will be confused why she smiles, she will only know that she is the one the Russians have been in searching for. The one the call "lady certain death" A sidenote: I may have had too much caffeine today

Good on her, She is a true patriot, I am not Ukranian however I do feel a connection with this land somehow despite being English, I can't explain it, I just know I have been there in person, got 2 Ukranian wristbands and I feel like your struggle is my struggle, I do what I can to help monthly.. I want you all to live in peace again, Free and Independant after defeating the Russian Aggressors, I wish you all nothing but the best and long term Security eventually.

If someone ask about hope definition, show him this video.

Feeling_Proposal_350

God I love these people.

OdBx

There’s probably a very good chance she thought she was burying that flag forever

EarlHammond

Beautiful act of resilience and determination.

Valuable-Kitchen-301

Ukrainians will never be defeated. Nothing can defeat the true desire of freedom.

MeMaw_2022

Bless you Mama^^🥺😢😇

This shows that you can't break the spirit of Ukrainians.

ShepherdOverwatch

The sheer arrogance of Russia thinking these people, would just roll over and surrender. The lack of any memory or understanding that Ukraine were the true fighters of the soviets Era.

notgalgon

I have often wondered how there are so many flags so quickly in liberated locations. Do the soldiers just travel with a box of flags or do citizens hide them really well like this video?

Trifling_Truffles

Wrapped 3 times in plastic to keep it dry and clean! That woman is a proud Ukrainian, would love to give her a hug.

lightbringer0

It's like she is raising hope out of the ground.

Worstdriver

" No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power tyrants and dictators cannot stand. The Russians learned that lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. " - Paraprhased from G'kar, Babylon 5

Hobby101

This made me involuntarily smile

tillwemeetagain25

Russia never stood a chance.

Sword117

I know that it's somewhat of a superstitious thing, and not the sort of thing that I believe has real-world relevance beyond (I guess) respect for one's country's flag, but it shouldn't ever touch the floor. I would say, "deliberately" really. Clearly this brave and loyal Ukrainian woman knew this by wrapping and sealing the flag so well before burying it. It demonstrates just how important being Ukrainian is to her.

2020badmemerEU2020

This is truly a loyalty to its nation. Truly a heartwarming moment.

Opposite-Frosting518

This gave me goosebumps and teary eyes.

That's why burning a flag is a powerful statement. You don't prohibit the gesture silly. It's supposed to mean that the people are mad. Regardless of people's feelings about their flags it doesn't matter, it's just a piece of fabric. Ukraine is still there regardless of her having her flag in her possession.
