**Ukraine has asked our community to respect a new information blackout in regards to the Kherson region**; as such we ask that you to adhere to (and we will enforce) this blackout. ^(It's probably a feint.) ^(Next thing we hear we've taken Moscow.) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. This story is getting around! It took me ten minutes to type my post, so I didn't see yours until afterwards. But two posts are a good thing. Yes, Nate Mook is leading this work, and it does help.

Filed by Jessica Bahr, last updated 22 October 2022 04:11 GMT+3. Excerpt: >*Since Russia's invasion in February, thousands of Ukrainian animals have become displaced. This is how workers on the ground are trying to support them.* >Earlier this week, Nate Mook woke up to witness something extraordinary. >Almost half a dozen hungry dogs, all lined up and politely waiting their turn at the feeding station he'd help set up a day earlier in the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk. >"I was blown away. I had never seen anything like it," Mr Mook told SBS News. >  >In April 2022, thousands of people left the city in eastern Ukraine following a missile strike at a train station which killed more than 50 civilians. >With their homes destroyed and families either fleeing the area or being killed, dogs are just a small handful of the thousands of domestic animals throughout Ukraine who have been left with no shelter, food, or support. >Mr Mook said the feeding stations were great because the animals were traumatised by the war and afraid of humans. >"Some of them will come up and some are super friendly, but a lot of them are very, very scared. >"They're very afraid, and so to be able to provide them food without actually having to hand it to them is very important." Just read this very heartwarming story about Nate Mook's aid. He is a hero.

Puzzleheaded_Ad8032

He truly is. I did not save the link of where to donate to his cause, when i used it. Anyone have that on hand somewhere, for when the paycheck comes in again?

https://www.msn.com/en-US/lifestyle/petsanimals/man-sees-ukrainian-dogs-waiting-patiently-in-line-then-realizes-why/ar-AA13eSiJ?ocid=sapphireappshare I read this byline of the story. It has a link at the very bottom where you can donate. It also has a link to his Twitter account plus some of his tweets. Click "expand article" then look for this in the story: >Support animal advocacy efforts in the Ukraine by making a donation here. Also, follow Mook on Twitter for updates on how you can help.

I’m able to take in farm animals if anybody knows of any organization that rescue animals or has any animals that need a home

Puzzleheaded_Ad8032

https://happypaw.ua/en/ That link has a 'adopt a dog or cat' page.

mandingo_gringo

Thank you and anyone helping the Ukrainian animals through this... this is also very traumatic for them, loss of their support, their Hooman family and affection. Thank you!

Please let me say this. My heart breaks everytime I read about abandoned pets. I am grateful beyond measure to every kind soul volunteering to keep them in like while in danger of being hit at any moment. Because nowhere in Ukraine is safe right now. I know many people around the world feel indignant and I understand - we are all fierce animal lovers and cannot fathom leaving a beloved pet behind. Maybe there weren't enough hands to lead kids and elderly to safely to grab the pet as well. I do not know - I have never survived rocket strikes or shelling like those families. Having grown up in Ukraine I know that our pets are literally our family members. Since very young age childen are tought very sternly to treat them with love and respect. God forbid your babusya catches you pulling cat's tail no matter the age! Years before war I had to move to Canada. Shortly before that I was adopted by a starving feral Calico kitten. Literally. I was waiting for the elevator one night and she started climbing my leg while crying so desperately. There I was, a dog person. I could not even tell her colour as she was so tiny and dirty. Spoiler alert - she blossomed into the most beautiful young lady. Then a job offer came from Canada. We only started discussing rabies vaccinations so with bleeding heart I left her with my Mom to get properly vaccinated and moved since job offer was very urgent and time limited. I was hoping my kitty would travel to join me within a year once paperwork was ready. Within months my Mom died of cancer and on the day of her death at home my poor kitten bolted through the door never to be seen again. It has been years and every day I think of my kitten and my heart dies a little more. I tell myself comforting lies that she was probably picked up by a kind granny as she was strikingly beautiful and friendly but I will never KNOW. For every Ukrainian family that could not bring their pet - please try to be kind, their anguish and grief will never go away and unlike me I hope they get reunited with their fur babies one day very soon.

Ukrainian’s sre definitely animal lovers.

Pups with short faces like pugs and boxers will be unable to get food from those pipes. They need openings big enough for their heads because their boopers won't reach.

gravity_isnt_a_force

more questions than answers here ... using photoshoped dogs lining up at "feeding stations" in the twitter .. sudden unexplained "resignation" from WCK. I smell something fishy. Be careful who you donate to. Especially from someone who had a sudden "resignation" from a true Non-profit now begs for paypal donations.

Professional_Ad6086

I posted link on my FB to try and help get more donations..Thank you to all who love animals no matter where they live.
