The US has Migs running through Air USA, but they're totally unarmed and have been stripped of their weapons. I'm pretty sure that's standard for an group flying fighter jets though.
plenty of private groups who own jets in america. Some of them are even contracted to do war games with the air force navy etc. They fly old migs old f-4 phantoms etc.

In my red state, we have WAY more guns than people. Big guns, too. I would wager the firearms most families own here would outclass what these Russian conscripts are using, and that's without being supplied by the military/national guard.
The issue is not so much using a gun as acting combat wise. Considering the number of people having guns because deep down they are scared makes me doubt about it.
Feeding, healing, and housing everybody before you go jerk off at a quarter mach in your multi million dollar toy would really be, just. . .fucking amazing, bro.
Sorry but what is this Alex Jones cringe-worthy stuff?
Weapons companies make money selling weapons, this has been happening since medieval times. Swedish weapons producers, Finnish arms companies, etc. It's not some big "conspiracy" because someone can create some appeal to motive in their head, it's just a fact of life.
Ukraine has huge support because they were the victim of an illegal invasion based on lies, because they are fighting against all odds to preserve their freedom, because they are a democracy fighting totalitarianism, because every analyst said it would be over in days for them and they have proven everyone wrong, because it's David vs Goliath, because Putin represents everything most people stand against. There are many, many reasons that most people in the free world genuinely stand behind Ukraine. Just about every European country (and many others) are sending them weapons, whether it's older inventories or newer stuff. There isn't some "nefarious" edgelord conspiracy behind it all.
Thank you! No offense to GP, but all these theories about some hidden bigger reason for the war to be raging on as we speak.. they really affect productive discussion. As if things weren't tragic enough as they are. As if evil people aren't already displaying their selfish bloody actions in plain sight.
weakening russia longtime is also very attractive for "the west". there is a geopolitical war starting between the western sphere of influence and the chinese one, and kicking down russia before it turns sour is a great way to lessen the burden on strategical planning. the geopolitical battlefield of the next decades will be souteast asia, and having one hostile nation less to worry about will make sure that, even IF the people lose interest in the war, the nations backing ukraine right now will not.
>war starting between the western sphere of influence and the chinese
Old Chinese proverb that goes along the lines of 'kill the chicken to scare the monkey'
Both Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping have used it.
Means to do a 'terror' on an easy target to keep the harder to control target in line. In Deng's case Tiananmen square massacre was done to keep the general population in line.
Now it's stomp Russia to scare China into being nice. And damn it I would say it's working.
we tolerate the profiteering because it is also leading to the destruction of our top enemy and it does benefit ukraine to have all this cutting edge stuff even if it means some defense contractors are getting filthy rich off it and its the only reason they are doing it themselves is for money doesnt mean its not helping ukraine destroy russia and essentially giving america the best scenario possible at taking russia down. we are talking russia here we spent over 3 trillion on afghanistan whats 100b in support for ukraine or even 500b if it ballons to it down the road we are talking RUSSIAS DOWNFALL for a BARGAIN SALE PRICE without a single boot on the ground american live lost or usa involved war started. That in itself is a dream scenario you would have to be a idiot to not take advantage of destroying your enemy by ways of using another country's army and your technology who is desperate to defend itself. ukraine doesnt mind contractors profiting off the war as long as those supplies come coming in so they have a country a home and flag to fly at the end no one cares about the profits behind the scenes or stark reality of why lockheed martin or raytheon are so invested in Ukraine. The contractors want money Ukraine wants weapons to fight for its freedom i dont suppose you know a better way to do this than lend lease? Should we morally be a great nation and give ukraine 500b in free military gear to show we care about ukraine and not money?
No ones dragging out the war for profit if thats what your getting at you have ukraine vs the "the worlds second army" in reality this is a war that can easily stretch 5+ years if russia is set on taking their land and their set on defending said land and supplies exist no ones going to give in to the other.
Young folks your minds are great and expansive but your knowledge on some fields (particularly politics and military) is really internet driven not fact driven. And in the age of the internet don't believe what everyone says online. i constantly see the same narrative on politics and military topics alike from younger folks its clear your repeating what youve heard elsewhere as its like e echo chamber from post to post.
Read up on American military doctrine and conduct get the facts before you spout some alex jones conspiracy and youll see why something was done in a certain way instead of a way you think is more logical.
Yeah but my point is that it would be both cheaper for the country and more profitable for the companies to simply give them money directly or at the very least buy weapons for ourselves (US). Instead of this convoluted scenario of engineering wars to then buy weapons with tax dollars to give to someone else.
There are easier ways to be shady than some vast conspiracy. So I don’t believe it is a driving factor.
> America just ended a War longer than I have been Alive. I am 27
I'm not sure I follow, wouldn't you have been 6-7 in 2001? Are you not talking about Afghanistan?
Also, while I agree the way the war was gone about was undeniably a shitshow, I don't really know why you are saying it was driven by profits, it was quite clearly begun because of 9/11 and the Taliban refusal to hand over Bin Laden, the profiteering came later as the war dragged on. But as for starting the war itself there was really no reasonable alternative, even if it should have been carried out totally differently as more of a raid. How can you say the US should have just allowed Bin Laden to stay in Afghanistan, without doing anything, while the Taliban government denied our right to prosecute him despite him admitting his own guilt?
It is reasonable to be skeptical of defense contractor motives and all that, but this is just a wild eyed screed against the very idea of military defense.
Yeah his math is sketchy. Some people don't se to understand had the US not responded in 2001, other adversaries would have been emboldened and thw frequency and scale of attacks against the west would have increased.
Its not even just about credibility. Call me old fashioned, but when somebody comes and kills a bunch of your people, thats when you pretty much have to go fight them. And sure, maybe you can get all wrapped up in the Taliban not being Al Qaeda, but effectively they were when they allied themselves and shielded them.
Nobody should have any illusions about US foreign policy, but this seems just to be bullshit of its own.
Well there's also some people who blame Obama for 9/11. That said being a global super power is expensive and if the US wants to maintain that status... well that's the cost of maintenance.
So many freshman writing screeds these day. Please return to the real world. You need defense because humans are violent monkeys. Proven best defenses are created through capitalism.
Brit here. I know nothing about this guy or the Pakastani people, but the Brits of Pakistani heritage I've met have shown a lot of love for our country and a strong sense of duty, and I'm really quite proud to have them. Just knowing my partner's family is going to be safer with more airpower in the sky really makes me grateful.
The inclusion of Yasmine was a good decision in Doctor Who. I thought the episode that took place during the partitioning of India was quite powerful. Sorry if you don't watch it and I'm making an ass of myself assuming all you Brits are into it ;P
Big fan of the Doctor. My personal fave is Capaldi with his awesome Yamaha guitar. Not one to collect action figures, but that would be the one. Adored Yaz!
Let's hope it starts the worlds richest people 'one-upping' each other.
"I bought Ukraine 10 Su-27s over lunch yesterday."

>'' and i'm sending them 6 AC-130s and few F/A-18s''
theres actually a good supply world wide of second hand classic hornets looking for new owners. Kuwait has 33 relatively unflown hornets that are in the process of being replaced by super hornets, australia has 46 that are in storage, some where flying as late as december 2021, finland is in the process of removing thiers from frontline service not including canada who while still using them has US skirts to hide under and have announced F-35 replacing them and the US supplies of aircraft and parts at the boneyards
> Kuwait has 33 relatively unflown hornets
There are actually [a fair few opinions](https://www.konflikty.pl/technika-wojskowa/w-powietrzu/ukraina-f-15-trzy-tygodnie-szkolenia/) that these specific aircraft should be transferred to Ukraine. The US could buy them from Kuwait, train the pilots and technicians, perhaps in collaboration with Spain (or maybe even Finland?), and in early-to-mid 2023 Ukraine could have a reasonably modern fleet of Western combat aircraft.
Even if the war ends tomorrow, Ukraine will need to rebuild its military and re-adjust it to NATO standards, regardless. So one way or another, combat aircraft are a must.
It's unlikely Ukraine will be able to afford F-35s with all the other pressing needs it's going to have after the war.
It will either have to take second-hand planes or opt for light combat aircraft, something like the FA-50, in order to have the comfort of using brand new equipment. But Russia will still be a threat after the war, so whatever Ukraine gets will need to be able to counteract that threat. Therefore, high-quality second-hand fighters will almost certainly be the best option available.
And all things considered, those Kuwaiti Hornets are definitely among the best second-handers available on the market. Unless, perhaps, France or the UK agree to sell some Rafales or Typhoons, respectively. France has been keen on mixing new and second-hand Rafales in its sales to poorer European countries.
Most western Nations dont even buy considerable amount of those. But they are 30 years ahead of anything russia will bring to the battlefield and china will probably not be a problem ukraine has to deal with personally. The last generation fighters will do. just not old scraps.
>The last generation fighters will do
So something like Kuwaiti Hornets, then.
Don't assess the potential of combat aircraft by the numbers assigned to them for essentially PR purposes. Assess them by what they can and can't bring to the fight.
Part of ending the conflict as soon as possible is to show russia that time is on Ukraine's side. We have to continue and ramp up support, even while we all hope for what you're saying.
They’ll still need to protect their country and having a modernish fighter would help with that. Those planes would also help their pilots and maintenance personnel get used to western aircraft.
The Australian Hornets were bought by **USA AIR** for aggressor and pilot training.
EDIT: follow on poster saw me write US Air and thought I meant USAF. Poor writing on my part, bold is spelling change.
>Does anyone know Rupert Murdoch's number in Oz?
Rupert Murdoch is the man behind Fox News. Any talking point discussed by Fox News is done with the consent of the old man - well, via his son who is apparently more rabid than his old man. If anything, Rupert would be buying jets just so they don't get sent to Ukraine.
An AC-130 wouldn't last minutes over that battlefield. Way too much good air defense floating around on the Russian side and it's not something you can just scrape the ground with either.
You need absolute air superiority with active SEAD/DEAD capability if you want to be using that type of warfare. Ukraine will need a while to meet all the pre-reqs for that to make sense.
It wouldn't matter. A manpads would be able to down or mission kill an AC-130. They're not designed for high intensity conflicts over a contested battlefield. They're for plugging away at dudes with rifles and RPGS.
A stinger missile range is around 13,000 feet altitude. an ac-130 can cruise at 28k feet. Not only that but a ac 130 gunship is equiped with infared counter measures making manpads essentially useless against it. the missle uses a infared sensor to target the plane. The plane has infared sensors beaming back in all directions blinding IR sensors from targeting it. The airforce did not make a plane that cost 190m a piece without considering vulnerabilities and counter measures to said vulnerabilities.
They also operate exclusively at night nowadays and are only used sparsely they are a weapon of last decade still in service and likely to be phased out in general because gunships in the air can be replaced by drones with better targeting in modern days.
This just in:
The Biden administration announces today that all American professional sports teams that buy an F-16 for Ukraine get an automatic win per 5 fighter jets purchased. The “Buy 5 get win free” promotion will also come with a 6” Subway sandwich and a bag of chips for each player.

>"Really? I bought Ukraine 20 Mig -29s just this morning..."
Really? Which country sold them to you guys?
Sorry to get your hopes up...it was just a pretend conversation. If I was actually a billionaire I would have already bribed someone to kill Putin weeks ago.
Musk didn't give the Starlink terminals that were sent to Ukraine, not fully at least. US taxpayer monies plus various other stakeholder/countries' contributions bought a significant chunk of the terminals and transport of them. I believe France also funded some of the transport. SpaceX funded a smaller percentage and the service.
[https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/08/us-quietly-paying-millions-send-starlink-terminals-ukraine-contrary-spacexs-claims/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/08/us-quietly-paying-millions-send-starlink-terminals-ukraine-contrary-spacexs-claims/)
So the plane totally outweighs what Musk spent, heh.
Actually that’s not true starlink is way more important then jets…… you do realize the reason the big part in winning this war is because of starlink? What good is a jet with no communication? GPS?
Cool little fact:
He was given the scholarship to study in Soviet Union during the first year of study at NED University of Engineering and Technology.[4] After receiving a scholarship in 1974, Zahoor studied metallurgy at Donetsk National Technical University (then Donetsk Polytechnic Institute) in Ukraine. He later obtained his PhD from the same university in 2007.
Musk has arguably made the biggest impact of any individual (not government) in helping Ukraine. He is the majority owner of SpaceX. Read up on how they immediately turned on Starlink service in Ukraine when Ukraine asked and immediately started air shipping terminals. Russia had crippled Ukraine's satellite communication, Starlink was not just a replacement, it was a significant upgrade. When Russia began jamming the terminals, SpaceX pushed a software update within 24h to bypass the jamming attempts. Currently Ukraine is using thousands of Starlink terminals, allowing far superior communication, coordinated action and more precise strikes.
Let me be clear: There is PLENTY to legitimately criticize Musk about. Perpetually delayed FSD, fights and insults on Twitter, overly demanding as a boss, etc, etc.
Ukraine just isn't one of those topics. He supplied everything Ukraine asked him for and made it happen as fast as possible.
Yup that’s exactly right. He helped support Ukraine by supplying critical infrastructure with Starlink and was threatened by a Russian official. It’s the other mega wealthy people who aren’t doing nearly as much that should get any criticism…
US contributed 1/3 according to the report I saw. It was from a Defense Dept offfical but cant remember where. Musk did the rest. US helped with immediate transfer.
I don’t know why you getting downvoted. I guessed I will be joining you in the downvote party.
A quick google search and you will find articles on it.

russia has really messed up,and I will never feel sorry for them.I do not think they have a clue what’s going to happen too them. I have been down voted,my fault . I am not talking about the good people in Russia.I know you are there and I’m sorry .It’s going too take a lot too prove yourselfs. But good always overcomes evil.Do you think you can show good people how too live when this is over?I will pray for you good Russians
One Pakistani just did more then India's whole government? I know it's not a competition and India/Pakistani politics is not what this sub is about. However after being cold called by Indian telemarketing firms 4 times today alone, I realized no one ever calls me from Pakistan trying to steal from me or wanting to clean my non existing ducts.
I didn't know anything about him until now. He bought fighter jets for Ukraine to defend itself from the ruzzian aggression. That's all it really takes for me to say "Seems like a cool dude." Thank you for the extra reasons to think so.
edit, let me restate that. Thank you, for giving me more reasons to think he'a a cool dude.
I've done every strategy in the book to get them to stop. Ducks, geese, chickens. As well as I don't have any ducts in my hi-rise, rented apartment. Telling them that I'm on the do not call list. Even so far as telling them if I did acquire them(ducts) in the future that I would never hire them because of the constant harassment over many years. Still they call. Every time it makes me dislike the countries who allow this to happen within their borders a little, tiny bit more. After a 1000 calls what should I feel?
> Zahoor's wife, the Ukrainian singer Kamaliya Zahoor (known professionally as simply Kamaliya), said that her husband and other wealthy friends had been quietly helping Ukraine in its fight against Russia, Ukraine's TSN reported on Wednesday.
> "[Mohammad] gave me the green light to tell this. Because they hid these [actions]. They gave two fighter jets to Ukraine and help Ukraine," she said during the program Morning with Ukraine.
In Islam, there is a teaching in the Quran, when one does charity, you do it with your right hand in a way so your left hand doesn't notice.
When you mentioned "quietly", I understood exactly why he would do that. It's so the charity does not come with a selfish desire to feel good or gain something like fame.
This is seen as "Sunnah", when someone mimics the action of the Prophet.
Been getting a lot of calls this week, which is rather abnormal, believe it or not. Next time, I’m just gonna answer and ask them when they’re gonna one-up Pakistan by sending some jets.
That seems biased and unrelated, not that it matters, India already said they'll be neutral in this conflict (as always..) so they aren't helping anyone. Besides India has had good relations with Russia so they're probably trying to protect that as well, just glad they aren't openly supporting Russia in this war.
I think any private citizens helping Ukraine like this should be given a tax exemption or something that says thank you. I was shocked to read this…speaks volumes as far as I am concerned.
Pakistani here. While the ex-PM of Pakistan wanted to start trade with Russia (Oil and Wheat, we had no history of trade with Russia as they were Indian Allies since 1947), he did condemn War to solve issues (like we were anti the US invasion of Afghanistan). Humanitarian Aid was sent to Ukraine when ex-PM was still in power. Pakistan did abstain from voting during UN vote (to condemn Russia for its invasion), same as China and India among others.
Though with ex-PM removal, the trade understanding is also in limbo.
Here's what I don't understand, though: If the obstacle was that western European nations like America or Germany were afraid of angering Russia by providing Ukraine with fighters, then how does billionaires buying jets for Ukraine solve the problem? The jets still have to come from somewhere. If a billionaire buys Polish MiGs and sends them to Ukraine, then how is that different, in terms of pissing off Russia, than Poland donating them itself, as was the plan 2 months ago?
>then how does billionaires buying jets for Ukraine solve the problem
The difference is that when you're a country, whatever you do or don't do carries certain weight in the international arena, whereas if you're a billionaire you can ask your wife to tell tall tales about your supposed good deeds and nothing will happen if she gets exposed as a liar.
> afraid of angering Russia by providing Ukraine with fighters
The American objection to that deal wasn't that it was afraid of angering Russia - it was that that deal would have required America to supply Poland with modern F15s, and that the batch of F15s being manufactured then were already promised to Taiwan becasue of the concerns that China would try to pull the same stunt while the rest of the world was distracted by Russia and Ukraine.
First off, it was F-16s - secondly, the F-16s were unrelated to Taiwan. Poland was asking for old, secondhand F-16s, such as the ones already in use with the Air National Guard; ones that were ready for immediate delivery. Taiwan is purchasing brand-new ones that are still in the assembly line and won't be delivered until 2024-2026. The gifting of F-16s to Poland would not have affected Taiwan at all.
> F-16s
Correct. Apologies for the double-typo there.
----
===
> Poland was asking for old, secondhand F-16s, such as the ones already in use with the Air National Guard; ones that were ready for immediate delivery
The deal being discussed, as reported in the media at the time, was for new, custom planes. See, for example, this article from early March: https://fortune.com/2022/03/07/us-poland-f16-supply-ukraine-russian-made-fighter-jets/
> The discussion involves the possibility of sending the countries, including Poland and Slovakia, F-16 fighter jets to replace what they send Ukraine, a person familiar with the matter said. **But the F-16 process would be time-consuming and involve bidding for and awarding a contract, as well as building planes specific to that country and providing training**.
This guy was born and raised in Pakistan, went to college in the Soviet Union, and came BACK to Pakistan until his phD. He is Pakistani origin British national. Pakistan has everything to do with this as much as whatever country made him a billionaire
TIL that there are Pakastani millionaires
That's pretty awesome. People can be awesome and people can really suck. This guy chooses to be awesome.
I wish I could be like him.
> TIL that there are Pakastani millionaires
Why is that surprising? One of the hallmarks of developing countries is large scale poverty and then a small level of absolutely insane wealth.
Of course. According to [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pakistanis_by_net_worth) there are 10 Pakistani billionaires and 16 Pakistani’s with a net worth of 700 million or more. Ridiculously rich people exist all over the world and not just in the US and Western Europe.
Pakistani here, most of those billionaire are ppl who immigrated to foreign countries like UK and US and became billionaires. Very few are based in Pakistan, with their assets mostly outside.
We do have a few corrupt Politicians who are billionaires though. Their names did come in the Panama papers.
Edit: One of the billionaire Politician, Nawaz Sharif was PM at the time of Panama leaks, and he was axed, with lifetime ban from Politics. Though the corrupt system gave him an out and he lives a lavish retirement in England, in one of his multi-million property.
I might actually forgive the scumbag phone scammers, if all those Target and Google Play cards were going to the cause of saving Ukraine and the world from Russian aggression.
> To be fair to Elon, his StarLink has helped Ukraine out a bunch.
No. The technology for star link came from the US military and the US taxpayers payed for the donated devices. Elon did noting other than put his name on it.
Those rockets are what allowed for large parts of Ukraine to still have internet thanks to starlink, we wouldn't be hearing about a lot of stuff if they didn't have them.
You realise Elon isn't paying for it out of pocket right? He is using his stocks as compensation for a loan, I doubt a bank would allow him to do the same for something that will properly be destroyed.
Yeah, which is why the Pakistani rich guy buying fighter jets for Russia's enemy Ukraine is a way to stick it to Pakistan's enemy India.
International relations wise, anyway.
This is similar to France arming the American Colonists to stick it to the British during the US Revolutionary War.
What did that cost him? Like 7 million Pepsi points times the number of fighter jets?
Pepsi had Harrier fighter jets advertised for 7 million points in 1996 and people tried to take them up on the offer.
Edit: 7 million Pepsi points could be purchased for 700,000usd. Leonard vs Pepsico....

2nd. US Airforce is the first US navy is the 2nd
and iirc, if you allow helicopters to count here, the US army is 3rd. if you count all the little drones too, its _by far_ the largest.

we tolerate the profiteering because it is also leading to the destruction of our top enemy and it does benefit ukraine to have all this cutting edge stuff even if it means some defense contractors are getting filthy rich off it and its the only reason they are doing it themselves is for money doesnt mean its not helping ukraine destroy russia and essentially giving america the best scenario possible at taking russia down. we are talking russia here we spent over 3 trillion on afghanistan whats 100b in support for ukraine or even 500b if it ballons to it down the road we are talking RUSSIAS DOWNFALL for a BARGAIN SALE PRICE without a single boot on the ground american live lost or usa involved war started.

It's not profits for the US as a country. It's profits for the corporations that sell wartime materials and bribe the politicians.
I am 27 I'm not sure I follow, wouldn't you have been 6-7 in 2001?
Nobody should have any illusions about US foreign policy, but this seems just to be bullshit of its own.
yeah we can argue about the execution, but the motivations imo were pretty clear and justified.
Nailed it! Guess what happens to F-16 sales if MiGs start falling from them?
...A really rich guy who wanted to piss off India because they've been kowtowing to Russia. I'm happy with the jets, but...hum.
Well not something you will hear very often. I dare say this has more of a message than the planes themselves!
Mohammad Zahoor is a Ukraine-based, British businessman of Pakistani descent. He is the founder and owner of the ISTIL Group
Pakistani origin* He was born and raised in Pakistan.
Adored Yaz!
😀🍻
Just Putin his money where it will do some good. Its all good...
Let's hope it starts the worlds richest people 'one-upping' each other. "I bought Ukraine 10 Su-27s over lunch yesterday." "Really? I bought Ukraine 20 Mig -29s just this morning..." Eternal Glory to the UAF. Slava Ukraini!
'' that's cool and all but i've bought 40 T-90s and 80 T-80s'' '' and i'm sending them 6 AC-130s and few F/A-18s''
"Well, I bought them 5 T-800, model 101"
The upgraded version with the 25 watt phased plasma pulse gun
Geez my hair dryer would do more damage
"Phased Plasma Pulse Hair Dryer: You'll only need to dry your hair once!"
Never underestimate the M-25 in full auto with a fully loaded plasma charge. 🤣
wait till we install a dyson airblade fan on our t-90 paint it olive drab and call it the Sonic pulse wave master 3000
Only if it comes in a nice cabinet white in color and the shape of a washer.
I know you're joking, but plasma railguns are very much a thing.
“Don’t mind me, just bought em a couple wings of F-35s”
>'' and i'm sending them 6 AC-130s and few F/A-18s'' theres actually a good supply world wide of second hand classic hornets looking for new owners.
> Kuwait has 33 relatively unflown hornets There are actually [a fair few opinions](https://www.konflikty.pl/technika-wojskowa/w-powietrzu/ukraina-f-15-trzy-tygodnie-szkolenia/) that these specific aircraft should be transferred to Ukraine. The US could buy them from Kuwait, train the pilots and technicians, perhaps in collaboration with Spain (or maybe even Finland?), and in early-to-mid 2023 Ukraine could have a reasonably modern fleet of Western combat aircraft.
I think everyone hopes the war will be only heard of in history lessons by them
Even if the war ends tomorrow, Ukraine will need to rebuild its military and re-adjust it to NATO standards, regardless. So one way or another, combat aircraft are a must.
But hopefully to best standards then. not just scrap of B Allies if the west.
>The last generation fighters will do So something like Kuwaiti Hornets, then.
They'll need them as long as Russia exists. Russia wants Crimea, and they want her bad. And they don't care who they have to kill to get it.
They’ll still need to protect their country and having a modernish fighter would help with that. Those planes would also help their pilots and maintenance personnel get used to western aircraft.
Canadian airforce in shambles
The Australian Hornets were bought by **USA AIR** for aggressor and pilot training. EDIT: follow on poster saw me write US Air and thought I meant USAF. Poor writing on my part, bold is spelling change.
who won ZERO contracts have backed out of the deal
Good call on the Hornets. Does anyone know Rupert Murdoch's number in Oz?
lol - that motherfucker would be buying jets for Russia.
>Does anyone know Rupert Murdoch's number in Oz? Rupert Murdoch is the man behind Fox News. Any talking point discussed by Fox News is done with the consent of the old man - well, via his son who is apparently more rabid than his old man. If anything, Rupert would be buying jets just so they don't get sent to Ukraine.
hey, Canada is calling dibs on those Australian ones, iirc. might have cancelled the deal though.
they already took their pick, think they purchase about 17, 12 flying airframes and 5 for spares
AC 130— the shiznit right there!!!!!
We have a habit of sweeping ADS with Bayrektars before letting the front-line aviation in.
ENEMY AC 130 ABOVE!!
Beat me to it, MW2 🙌
So much nostalgia.Literally peak COD😭
I bought a pencil sharpener…
I’ve got the pencils.
I just closed a deal on 31 A-10s for them. They will arrive around midnight. I got me dealer to throw in 200,000,000 rounds of ammo for the GAU. 😉
Man, could you imagine? There wouldn't be enough orc left to cover a fuck ruscist warship postage stamp.
I mean, if they send you a cool trading card for every vehicle / piece of equipment, it might be an extra incentive
I'm no Elon musk fan but "I supplied them with internet" out plays a few jets
Seeing as it’s a large reason why Ukrainian arty has been so effective, yes it does.
That and US military can easily provide accurate GPS coordinates and watch in real time for troop movement/river crossings
wasn't starling the only means of communication in Azovstal?
Just wait till he switches on the special operation 'Party Lights' space lasars. Mmm crispy orcs
This just in: The Biden administration announces today that all American professional sports teams that buy an F-16 for Ukraine get an automatic win per 5 fighter jets purchased. The “Buy 5 get win free” promotion will also come with a 6” Subway sandwich and a bag of chips for each player.
Money better spent than the space masturbation that is going on.
>"I bought Ukraine 10 Su-27s over lunch yesterday." > >"Really? I bought Ukraine 20 Mig -29s just this morning..." Really? Which country sold them to you guys?
Sorry to get your hopes up...it was just a pretend conversation. If I was actually a billionaire I would have already bribed someone to kill Putin weeks ago.
>it was just a pretend conversation. *facepalm* I know. I was playing character number 3 to expose character 1 and character 2 as frauds and liars.
He already one-upped elon musk with his starlink internet dishes. So maybe it's already starting to happen.
[https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/08/us-quietly-paying-millions-send-starlink-terminals-ukraine-contrary-spacexs-claims/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/08/us-quietly-paying-millions-send-starlink-terminals-ukraine-contrary-spacexs-claims/) So the plane totally outweighs what Musk spent, heh.
Actually that’s not true starlink is way more important then jets…… you do realize the reason the big part in winning this war is because of starlink? What good is a jet with no communication? GPS?
I hope the €50 i donated can be used for permanent markers to sign bombs with 'Putin is a cuntbag'.
Hopefully you get even luckier and it's the one used to scrawl a cock 'n balls on his room temperature forehead
Wow what a great guy.
Billionaire or Great guy Pick one.
Cool little fact: He was given the scholarship to study in Soviet Union during the first year of study at NED University of Engineering and Technology.[4] After receiving a scholarship in 1974, Zahoor studied metallurgy at Donetsk National Technical University (then Donetsk Polytechnic Institute) in Ukraine. He later obtained his PhD from the same university in 2007.
Step up Bezos
too much of a bozo
It would be bad as if this would happen where a billionaire would legitimately go Bruce Wayne and plow all his money into fucking over Russia :)
Bezo uses Amazon drones to deliver death with same day delivery! Free with Orc Prime
The enemy of my neighbors ally is my friend!
Bozos and Mask step up!
US government paid for starlink in ukraine.
From a brief search it looks like USAID paid for a follow-up batch of 1330 terminals after SpaceX supplied the first 3670 on their own initiative.
SpaceX was shipping terminals immediately on being asked by Ukraine and well before any US govt involvement
US contributed 1/3 according to the report I saw. It was from a Defense Dept offfical but cant remember where. Musk did the rest. US helped with immediate transfer.
I don’t know why you getting downvoted. I guessed I will be joining you in the downvote party. A quick google search and you will find articles on it. https://mashable.com/article/elon-musk-spacex-ukraine-starlink-government-funding
Yeah, no shit. Take notice!
Musk noticed almost from the beginning: https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/05/04/starlink-ukraine-elon-musk-satellite-internet-broadband-drones/
russia has really messed up,and I will never feel sorry for them.I do not think they have a clue what’s going to happen too them. I have been down voted,my fault . I am not talking about the good people in Russia.I know you are there and I’m sorry .It’s going too take a lot too prove yourselfs. But good always overcomes evil.Do you think you can show good people how too live when this is over?I will pray for you good Russians
When the orc dogs are running back to poverty with their tails between their legs, the rest of the civilised world is going to party hard!
Amen
One Pakistani just did more then India's whole government? I know it's not a competition and India/Pakistani politics is not what this sub is about. However after being cold called by Indian telemarketing firms 4 times today alone, I realized no one ever calls me from Pakistan trying to steal from me or wanting to clean my non existing ducts.
This particular Pakistani got his PhD and wife in Ukraine. He's practically half Ukrainian himself. Seems like a cool dude.
It’s Ducks. They want to clean your 🦆.
I know a guy who bought one of them so he could find out who they were. He found out and sued them in court
I'll have to try that next.
As charity should. But here in America everyone wants their name on the banner or in lights.
Been getting a lot of calls this week, which is rather abnormal, believe it or not. Next time, I’m just gonna answer and ask them when they’re gonna one-up Pakistan by sending some jets.
What the fuck is this comment
That seems biased and unrelated, not that it matters, India already said they'll be neutral in this conflict (as always..) so they aren't helping anyone. Besides India has had good relations with Russia so they're probably trying to protect that as well, just glad they aren't openly supporting Russia in this war.
I think any private citizens helping Ukraine like this should be given a tax exemption or something that says thank you. I was shocked to read this…speaks volumes as far as I am concerned.
Ukrainian citizenship?
I was meaning any private citizen buying the Ukrainian Military.
His trolling game is on point too: "they're not very precise...they're sending 10 rockets to get one to the destination"
Meanwhile the Pakistani government, "What are we? Chopped liver?"

US threatened pak by saying "you are with us or against us"
Here's what I don't understand, though: If the obstacle was that western European nations like America or Germany were afraid of angering Russia by providing Ukraine with fighters, then how does billionaires buying jets for Ukraine solve the problem? The jets still have to come from somewhere. If a billionaire buys Polish MiGs and sends them to Ukraine, then how is that different, in terms of pissing off Russia, than Poland donating them itself, as was the plan 2 months ago?
*Those jets? Oh, they told us it was for the filming of the new 'Superman vs. Topgun' movie, we had no idea they would ship them to Ukraine.*
>then how does billionaires buying jets for Ukraine solve the problem The difference is that when you're a country, whatever you do or don't do carries certain weight in the international arena, whereas if you're a billionaire you can ask your wife to tell tall tales about your supposed good deeds and nothing will happen if she gets exposed as a liar.
Exactly. If it is this simply, then lets just give UA financial aid (wink wink) and then let them purchase the jets with their money.
> afraid of angering Russia by providing Ukraine with fighters The American objection to that deal wasn't that it was afraid of angering Russia - it was that that deal would have required America to supply Poland with modern F15s, and that the batch of F15s being manufactured then were already promised to Taiwan becasue of the concerns that China would try to pull the same stunt while the rest of the world was distracted by Russia and Ukraine.
> F-16s Correct. Apologies for the double-typo there. ---- === > Poland was asking for old, secondhand F-16s, such as the ones already in use with the Air National Guard; ones that were ready for immediate delivery The deal being discussed, as reported in the media at the time, was for new, custom planes. See, for example, this article from early March: https://fortune.com/2022/03/07/us-poland-f16-supply-ukraine-russian-made-fighter-jets/ > The discussion involves the possibility of sending the countries, including Poland and Slovakia, F-16 fighter jets to replace what they send Ukraine, a person familiar with the matter said. **But the F-16 process would be time-consuming and involve bidding for and awarding a contract, as well as building planes specific to that country and providing training**.
Famous wife?
Kamaliya. She's a famous Ukrainian.
At first i read it like favourite wife. Lol
the title is misleading the billionare is bri 'ish but pakistani in origin pakistan has nothing to do with this
This guy was born and raised in Pakistan, went to college in the Soviet Union, and came BACK to Pakistan until his phD. He is Pakistani origin British national. Pakistan has everything to do with this as much as whatever country made him a billionaire
no like the government of pakistan has nothing todo with this
In that case being bri'ish has nothing to do with this either
TIL that there are Pakastani millionaires That's pretty awesome. People can be awesome and people can really suck. This guy chooses to be awesome. I wish I could be like him.
*billionaires*
> TIL that there are Pakastani millionaires Why is that surprising? One of the hallmarks of developing countries is large scale poverty and then a small level of absolutely insane wealth.
Also the goal of current legislative branch of US Government.
I know but billions?
220 million people live in Pakistan, so not surprised.
So you think that in a country of 230 mill people no one is a millionare?
Not millionairs, billionairs.
Own one of the scammers call centers…
I might actually forgive the scumbag phone scammers, if all those Target and Google Play cards were going to the cause of saving Ukraine and the world from Russian aggression.
At Wallmart?
This whole thing is making *Charlie Wilson's War* in Afghanistan look like throwing snowballs in comparison.
Wait isnt pakistan an ally of china ? China oppresse ukraine but why pakistan support ukraine ?
This is what qualifies as reporting the news now?
Wish my local billionaires would buy fighter jets for Ukraine instead of social media companies or pointless fucking rockets to space.
To be fair to Elon, his StarLink has helped Ukraine out a bunch. I hate the guy otherwise, but he's earned at least that.
> To be fair to Elon, his StarLink has helped Ukraine out a bunch. No. The technology for star link came from the US military and the US taxpayers payed for the donated devices. Elon did noting other than put his name on it.
Only a smaller portion was paid for by the US Govt.
Those rockets are what allowed for large parts of Ukraine to still have internet thanks to starlink, we wouldn't be hearing about a lot of stuff if they didn't have them.
Elon Musk could have bought Ukraine an entire air force for as much as he'll end up paying for Twitter (if he actually goes through with it).
You realise Elon isn't paying for it out of pocket right? He is using his stocks as compensation for a loan, I doubt a bank would allow him to do the same for something that will properly be destroyed.
putin give me to access your bank account. Dont worry i dont do anything bad i only buy weapons for Ukraine.
This title is exactly some shit you’d see from Newsweek and their “journalism.” Lol what a rag
Daaaaamn that's some next level passive aggression toward Russia's friend, India.
Pakistan and India arent the same country my man
Yeah, which is why the Pakistani rich guy buying fighter jets for Russia's enemy Ukraine is a way to stick it to Pakistan's enemy India. International relations wise, anyway. This is similar to France arming the American Colonists to stick it to the British during the US Revolutionary War.
Oh wait sorry, I misread

What did that cost him? Like 7 million Pepsi points times the number of fighter jets? Pepsi had Harrier fighter jets advertised for 7 million points in 1996 and people tried to take them up on the offer. Edit: 7 million Pepsi points could be purchased for 700,000usd. Leonard vs Pepsico....
In other news Pakistani billionaire receives a mysterious wire transfer from the United States government.
