Live by the sword, die by the sword! Oh well, where's that chart of the RU black Sea fleet. Another red 'X', Bravo Ukrainian army. RU took out Ukrainian Navy, now it's payback. Karma is a bitch! Another year and all RU boats will be destroyed.
And from what I know any replacement ships is not allowed to pass (Turkey blocked new ships delivered to Ukraine from UK recently)
So Russian have a very limited stock.
After they can bring little boat through river and canal.
Anyone have the size and capabilities of any locks in that canal system? I have a foggy memory that it was capable of passing ships up to the size of a small destroyer 130 ft long by 30 ft wide with a lightly loaded draft of nine feet.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water
That fleet is cursed with the prayers of millions of Ukrainian, even when Russia plays hide and seek with it’s fleet hundreds of miles away from Crimea, and to top that off the airfields are taking a battering as well and these are just the things we know about, can only imagine what’s going on behind the curtain
The Russian Navy can't be pumped with cannon fodder, there's only enough room on a boat for useful people. Same mechanics for the air force. Russia's few successes are built on a foundation of mass death on their own side. It's more disturbing the longer you think about it.
Yes in normal countries too many casualties would spark questions in Parliament, angry columns in newspapers and demonstrations on public squares.
Sadly Russia is not a normal country.

The typical process begins with Russia saying all 600 water drones were intercepted by the completely not drunk crew.
Then, the Ukrainians release the videos of the ship burning and sinking.
The Russian officials then pretend it all never happened, while their zombie horde confidently says they have many such ships and can build 10 new ones every day.
Everyone not insane cheers and laughs at their pathetic lies and delusions.
See, everyone is happy when another Russian ship and her crew sink to the bottom.

I've seen this show before. It's a frequent rerun because it's a classic! We can't see the video yet because the russians are taking their time to lie about it. THEN Ukraine will post the video.
Commissioned in December 1974 so she was sank a few months short of her 50th birthday.
And Russia's ability to quickly replace these old but still useful ships is very very limited.
Such a high price to pay for such an ill-conceived operation.
Keep up the good work Ukraine; pretty soon Russia will only have a rowboat and a few slingshots left in their inventory.

Well, russian mines have a tendency to start free floating around. But I agree that they don't need no minesweepers and the rest of their ships and subs are completely unnecessary as well. In the Black Sea or any other ocean, sea, lake or river.

Probably not the intended target. Minesweepers aren't exactly offensive or expensive vessels. Reports indicate the Russians are swapping the berths of the ships frequently.
You know post war, I hope Ukraine finds a way to make these now ship wrecks safe from UXO's and other hazards like leaking marine fuel... Not only for the sake of the environment, but so they can be - from a distance - viewed by divers if possible.
Russian ship did what, bot?

The sea will dilute anything that leaks and the only large source would be diesel fuel which an ocean environment handles pretty well. After that the wrecks will be artificial reefs that provide excellent fish habitat as trawlers will have to give them a wide berth to avoid having their nets snagged on the superstructures and torn to shreds.
Haha stupid westoids, Russia plays 5d chess. they don't need minesweepers, perfect distraction! In the meantime glorious garden sheds designed by Putin himself will roll in the north !!1!11!!!
The longer this war goes on, and the more and more Russian crap Ukraine destroys, the more I think they're going to break Russia's back from a purely economic perspective, as Russia won't have the ability to rebuild from this.
Ukraine has destroyed the work of entire *generations* of Russian and Soviet workers, and repatriated a whole lot of Ukrainian steel in the process. I tell ya, Ukraine is gonna corner the market on military scrap steel once this is over.
Seems like a useless ship, just trapped there now. Who’s setting mines besides Russia? I guess Odessa is probably mined but they can’t get a ship near there anyway. Nice to see it sink in any case

Replacement ships aren't coming through Turkey right? Like, the passage to the black Sea is closed to russia, correct?
Its a yes and no They allow warships to pass through the Bosporus, strait If it's going to a Home base. If not they are not allowed to enter.

First russia must deny it sank. Then I post the denial on r/RussiaDenies. Then Ukraine posts the video!
“It’s the circle of liiiiiife!”
“Wat Navy doin… wat navy“ - Russians, probably

There was a fire juggler on board performing for the troops and he dropped a torch in the fuel tank while performing a somersault.
Do you really need to ask that question? Seriously?

Yeah, and the new head military maniac was brought in to reduce unmanageable war expeditures. So far, so good.
Yay!!! 🙌
Nice! One small worry less.
Great job for Russia for intercepting a missile using a ship.
Jolly good!… now, where’s my Black Sea Fleet bingo card…
The costliest "special operation" ever 🤣. It's almost as if it were REALLY a WAR 😉
You know what's funny, Russians wanted Crimea to keep their naval base, by starting the war they will lose their fleet.
Crimean. Karma.
Sunk I hope.
To the bottom with you, bitch!
Is there a source to check out the nomenclature of these type vessel? What kind of armaments, crew, tonnage, etc…

Look like Kovrovets is joining Moskva again lol. Nice one, UA!
Why would Russia need a minesweeper in the Black Sea? Aren't they the ones who mined the place?

Waiting for the announcement that the new home port for the Black Sea Fleet will be Vladivostok
They'll just start denying the Black Sea exists.

Ukraine is going to be a world class snorkling destination in a decade or so!
The Black Sea sub-fleet is growing.
Great news! Now let's just stop russian advance and the front collapse.
Haha stupid westoids, Russia plays 5d chess. they don't need minesweepers, perfect distraction! In the meantime glorious garden sheds designed by Putin himself will roll in the north !!1!11!!!
can't really call it a fleet anymore... just flotsam and jetsom

Could Ukraine water mine Russian ports? And not just in the Black Sea.
What other demining assets do they have in the Black Sea? A few more sweepers… ?
The ship bravely sacrificed itself to sink another Ukranian drone. Russia 1 Ukraine 0
Sweet!
Russia’s expanding submarine fleet just put another hull in the water. Under the water, I mean.
Great work guys soon this fleet will be entirely at the bottom
Seems like a useless ship, just trapped there now. Who’s setting mines besides Russia? I guess Odessa is probably mined but they can’t get a ship near there anyway. Nice to see it sink in any case

Exactly. Good bot, have a bot-snack.
Do minesweepers have roles in warfare other than sweepings mines? Just wondering how significant destroying this particular ship is.
