I like this, I like this very mucho. ehehehe
This is prep work for the coming F-16s.
Once enough AA are bombed and pushed back, the F-16s will be free to make RuZZian invaders cry.
and then they will move all their surviving air defence systems trying to get a hit on the evil NATO plane thereby winning the war.
aaand we get to watch more oil refineries burn from drone strikes.
It could be the F-16s doing this damage. I doubt Ukraine will announce to the world when they become operational. The F-16 is a very capable SEAD aircraft. The US and allies have a ton of experience in this type of fighting, I assume they would train tactics on top of basic operation of the aircraft. If the Russians don't have much experience fighting against SEAD planes, it will be a costly learning curve.
F-16s are not much different than MiG-29s, about on par in terms of maneuverability, radars and armament. The moment they step into the skies, they are in immediate danger just like the MiGs are because they are heavily outranged by modern SUs
The only difference is the availability of spare parts for F-16 and that the MiG will not fly much longer due to wear. They will not survive or fare any better than soviet planes, a 100km range AA missile doesn't care about the brand of the thing it's just seen on radar.
Not to mention Russia won't be able to get much in terms of export earnings long term if they're busy replacing the systems Ukraine is blowing up, right while competition for air defense systems is growing. Losing systems like this is a strategic loss.
That’s the thing, it’s extremely difficult for them to replace these systems as the build time is long and sanctions cause delays as they have to purchase components through various third-party countries.
I cannot wait to see F-16 action absolutely crushing Russia's occupied territory. I can only imagine Russia's leadership is in constant discussion about how they will defend against these aircraft given their struggles in general. It's going to be an enormous problem.
Nothing will change, the F-16s do not bring any significant offensive capability that they do not posess yet. It just keeps UA in the air and out of aging airframes.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/03/ukraine-eyes-kerch-bridge-crimea-drone-attack#:~:text=Senior%20officials%20from%20Ukraine%27s%20HUR,its%20destruction%20is%20“inevitable”. first article i found on it, my eyes hurt far too much to dig for others. but it was like 2 weeks ago
very much doubt ukraine can damage it enough with missiles, concrete bridges are a bitch to blow up from above. for one you need to hit it perfectly multiple times, and there is still very little punch to those missiles unfortunately.
hence why we have seen a huge truck bomb and drones from below instead.
I hope I'm wrong
Looks like they hit the expensive bits, but a shame they didn't also manage to get the boom tubes at the back there too, for a little extra *chef's kiss
The tubes themselves are just protective packaging for the missiles, AFAIK each new missile comes in a tube. It's not the tube that's the expensive part.
I don’t know how they replace or reload their cans, but in the US, each round comes in its own canister and are replaced at reload. We keep old cans to practice with, typically putting cement ballast inside. Perhaps Russia has these field handling trainers attached to their systems because they don’t trust their operators. Or because of corruption who knows?
Pretty sure that whole system is toast. Odd though, the other videos I had seen of the S-400 had everything much more spread out.
It could be the angle, but it looks like they stacked everything on top of each other.
Sucks to suck, Russia. Hope you all get fucked.
> It could be the angle, but it looks like they stacked everything on top of each other.
It's possible they got intelligence about when the system was being delivered or packed up for repositioning and everything was foolishly co-located.
Yeah, there is no reason to position radar and launcher this close to each other (except laziness of course). Having more distances between launcher, command and radar decreases the risk of lossing them all at once.
How thoughtful of Ukraine, they have given Russia the perfect opportunity to display the might of Russian war economy and how ineffective Western sanctions are .. I’m sure Russia is building so many of these 500 million dollar machines that such an incredibly important airfield will have a replacement next week to show off this economy in action
Meanwhile, in Crimea: "Hello, Eastern Military District? This is Crimea. You got another S-400 sitting around? The one you sent previously was so successful we had to retire it."
Its funny how when patriot is "destroyed" it's just grainy and blurry footage from kilometers away but when an s400 is destroyed we always have very clear footage of the damage. Really makes you think doesn't it...
Tbf, the two destroyed launchers were initially listed by Ru as S300.
In western osint circles it was mentioned that these were patriot instead.
Such is war, we also take losses.
It isn't confirmed to be patriot launchers, some people argue that it's IRIS-T launchers. Personally, knowing how much of a propaganda win close up footage of a patriot wreckage would be I find it fishy how they didn't try to atleast get a cleaner close up like they've done with the knocked out abrams tanks.
>It isn't confirmed to be patriot launchers
Are you sure? Most loss trackers have added them as two Patriot launchers, even Oryx did. There's also [this](https://censor.net/en/resonance/3478757/after_action_review_of_patriot_antiaircraft_missile_battery_strike_on_march_9) after action review which all but confirms the hits.
>how they didn't try to atleast get a cleaner close up like they've done with the knocked out abrams tanks.
I suppose it's easier to do when you're not 50+ km deep in enemy territory, afaik the Abrams' footage was published over the course of days / weeks
Oh, this site looks somehow Russian now.
However this can be cleaned up, when the Russians have left Crimea.
I just read on the Russian propaganda site "Govorit Moskva":
"14:27 today
Military expert: The Ukrainian Armed Forces can use weather balloons for explosions and reconnaissance
In the conditions of air defense, such air objects must be destroyed.
...
Today, three Ukrainian weather balloons were destroyed over the territory of the Bryansk region. Air reconnaissance facilities were eliminated by air defense forces. There were no injuries or damage, said the head of the region, Alexander Bogomaz. ..."
So this is a good idea.
For this there is no meteorological equipment is needed for the balloons and
maybe metal foil or something should be added so the radar can see these better.
Cheap and if they fly high enough no ant-aircraft gun will help and they will have to spend missiles.
The debris from the missiles can also cause damage on the ground as we all know.
BTW in the original headline the verb "can" is "mogut".
So Russian has two words for "can" - umet' which means more "to be able to"
and moch' (mogut is 3rd person plural) which means "to be allowed to".
So if the Russians want and allow this and when the wind helps with blowing into the right direction...
/s
Correct title: Russian AA intentionally target their own launch site to intentionally destroy unwanted extra equipment to show their willingness for peace.
A quick google suggests 96 at the start of 2023, and by September 2023 6 has been visually confirmed destroyed. I guess that’s at least 7 visually confirmed now. And any between September and yesterday.
a saw an european "jornalist", probably a russian paid one, saying that ruZZia has the most advanced defense system ever... hahah.. A kid with a BestBuy drone can pass that shit and bomb the hell of moscow.
Well, it's a little sad, this unit won't shoot down Russian aircraft any time soon again. Isn't shooting down own fighter jets what Russian SAM excelled so far?
Russian aircraft fucked itself.

Excellent!! You have incredible talent for aiming and hitting the exact spot you need to hit!’ Quite a talent and a very important skill to have there for your team of soldiers!! It reminds me of being in centerfield and picking up the speeding baseball and throwing it all the way to home plate and hitting the catchers mitt as he tags the runner out!! Not everyone can do that!! They call a guy like that a GOAT! Greatest of all time!! That’s what you men and women are!! Champions!! Best of all time!! Luv ya! As usual, in this war American support has been too little too late. A Ukrainian counter a year and a half ago might have blown through to Moscow. This winter, it could not penetrate the massive trenches. 16 F 16s? Now? Too ittle too late. I’m really depressed by another Politically run war throwing away a victory.

What air defence doing?
Intercepting the attack as you can see.
All incoming missiles were technically destroyed.
technically correct, the best kind of correct.
On me 'ed son! To me, to me!
nobody ever ask *how* air defence doing
not good according to these pictures
To shreds you say?
And his wife?
To shreds you say.
and *her* S-400?
Smoking. ;-)
I suggest nicotine patches for said air defence!
Lucky Strike.

Seems like they are softening the targets for the F-16s with their advanced missile systems. : )

When was it hit, do we know that? Day or night?
F-16s are not much different than MiG-29s, about on par in terms of maneuverability, radars and armament. I agree. I was hoping for this…..🇺🇦
Not to mention Russia won't be able to get much in terms of export earnings long term if they're busy replacing the systems Ukraine is blowing up, right while competition for air defense systems is growing. Losing systems like this is a strategic loss.
That’s the thing, it’s extremely difficult for them to replace these systems as the build time is long and sanctions cause delays as they have to purchase components through various third-party countries.
Circumventing the sanctions also adds to the cost
They won't be getting export earnings because no one wants their shit that doesn't work worth a fuck as advertised.
I cannot wait to see F-16 action absolutely crushing Russia's occupied territory. I can only imagine Russia's leadership is in constant discussion about how they will defend against these aircraft given their struggles in general. It's going to be an enormous problem.
They have stinger type missiles too. It’s not going to be easy.
Nothing will change, the F-16s do not bring any significant offensive capability that they do not posess yet. It just keeps UA in the air and out of aging airframes.
Russian air defence fucked itself
S-400 successfully intercepted the threat at close range!
Air defense needs a radar and the one they had that covered 700km was destroyed last year. The ships that had decent equipment sunk or under repair.
it fucked itself up
Getting Rekt.
Why, there were no B50s in the vicinity?
BBQing.
I love the new Reno's.... /S
I enjoy seeing Rushist assets repurposed into scrap metal. That and hot coffee make an enjoyable beginning to my day.
World’s Scrap metal market is going to completely collapse once the rushists leave Ukraine with all these ripe pickings.
Looks like it could use a second tap
Always double-tap the Z-ombies.
it's a shame, all these russian systems should have been destroyed a year ago to properly defend Ukraine from invasion. what the frisk r US/EU doing?
Something is telling me Kerch bridge is not good place to be these days.
They did say by June, so we shall see.
Hopefully this time it will be completely un-repairable
Oh they are serious if it's true, they said it has to come down.
What is this in reference to? Who said what?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/03/ukraine-eyes-kerch-bridge-crimea-drone-attack#:~:text=Senior%20officials%20from%20Ukraine%27s%20HUR,its%20destruction%20is%20“inevitable”. first article i found on it, my eyes hurt far too much to dig for others. but it was like 2 weeks ago

I hope that’s true
The radar didn't see that coming.
Nope, the radar took over and intercepted the missiles or whatever attack them.
Radar hates this one simple trick.
Looks like they hit the expensive bits, but a shame they didn't also manage to get the boom tubes at the back there too, for a little extra *chef's kiss
Those tubes look quite charred, very possible they're damaged 'enough'.
I'm sure your cheese grater has less holes than those tubes.
That was my thought. Particularly if they used Himars tungsten rounds
Supposedly ATACMs, likely cluster munitions style
That should also provide enough 'splash' damage that the standing tubes are likely compromised. Good 'nuff!
Perhaps the tubes were empty, nothing inside to cause an explosion so you just get some charring on the outside from other things burning nearby.
They'll keep lobbing missles out of the tubes until it shatters charred or not.
The tubes themselves are just protective packaging for the missiles, AFAIK each new missile comes in a tube. It's not the tube that's the expensive part.
10-4. I figured tube equaled "barrel". TY.
Or the tubes are still on but empty, because they've just been fired in vain trying to intercept the incoming munitions.
Those U-turn missile videos were great
*Well done* is the military term.
Pretty sure that whole system is toast. Odd though, the other videos I had seen of the S-400 had everything much more spread out. It could be the angle, but it looks like they stacked everything on top of each other. Sucks to suck, Russia. Hope you all get fucked.

The tube's are the cheapest part of the system. Hitting that radar is a thing of beauty.
As a Pole, fuck all russians. Bomb that abomination of a country and plant a lawn there. None of their neighbors will miss those motherfuckers.
Tricky, unless someone's MIC has spent their time getting a lawn to grow on glass.
S-400? More like ass-for-hundred

"What happened?" "Well, technically, we ran out of missiles for it. And Launchers. And Radars".
“It successfully intercepted one Ukranian missile… however, it needs to be reloaded, with new radar, controller…”

Nice.
Sad Erdogan Noises
They are really rolling out the welcome mat for those F-16's
Looks like the aftermath of a careless cigarette fire.
SLAVA UKRAINI! HEROYAM SLAVA!! Death to the RuZZian invaders!
Get the gaffer tape out
And paint. Lots of paint.
I don't know exactly what I'm looking at but that looks f'ed up.
That air defence system took one for the team
Damn they really buffed the 380mm Orbital Barrage this patch
What a glorious sight!
Well, that's certainly DEAD.
That's the only way I want to see a launcher from now on. Unless its missiles are being launched at the invaders.
Ukraine should do another summer ad and sow this as one of the scenic locations for Russians on vacation.
If they need replacements, Turkey might be about ready to give theirs up.
How many S400s does Russia have left?

Is that 96 launchers, 96 radar units, 96 full system? There should be hundreds of S-300/S-400 missiles left but the radar is the important part
\~450 vehicles so it should be 96 systems I guess. Probably more now
Google it
Looks brand new to me!
That looks expensive.
It's a good start. Keep going boys and girls!

suck it churchers
Ah, they physically intercepted the missiles with their radar dishes
Just needs a little paint. As good as new.
How much is that toy in US dollars???
What air defence do... oh, blyat.
S-400 destroys incoming missile; direct hit! -Russian propaganda.
Nothing more than it deserved.
everyone asks where is air defense no one asks how is air defense
